    I've got one of those bags, it's a great size for out and about. I pair it with the Foxtrot Mk2 waist pack and a couple of pouches on the waist pack belt. A very capable modular system for the nicer months.

    I have the same pack on OD green. It's my favourite. Undisputed champ of the daypacks, IMHO. 👍🏻

    Wow! nice pack for sure Panz...all the bells n whistles but without the clutter...I really like the fact that (other than the inner pocket) there are no Zippers to fail...reminds me a bit of the early Becker Patrol Packs...though I really think those two small front stash pockets are a great design feature...thanks amigo!...woods

    Yes, I like those European traditional pack types, though the Alice packs are pretty close to that. Have modded my German and Norwegian rucksacks to have some more modern features but they still have nowhere near the amount of this rucksack. That front pouch looks very handy, like a good sized map (and other stuff) pouch.

    The cover for the pouches could be about an inch longer to hold a canteen better. Plus they sewed the pouch pocket a little bit too far down making it harder to get things in and out of the pouches. Other than that I really like the pack

    You should do some reviews on Roaring Fire back packs. They have great reviews from other YT. However I find your videos more honest and genuine. Also LA Police Gear looks like awesome stuff for not a lot of money.

  • @blarkus_the_destroyer3430

    That looks awesome! Great pack, Prepared Wanderer, I’m just curious have you done a video where you do a bigger sized overnight pack where you show good gear like a single person tent and more long term pack videos? I’ve watched tons of your vids and some great day packs and maybe one night pack set ups but I haven’t seen too much more long term packs so I just wanted to ask. Thank you for the awesome videos!

    im debating between the savotta jaakari s vs Helikon-Tex Bergen Backpack? thanks!

    • @marienritter
      @marienritter Před 4 měsíci +1

      Hi, I have both. Both are great, but different. Savotta is clearly larger. A huge large main expandable compartment with a small zipped pocket in it, not accessible from the outside. Plenty of Molle, but the closing straps gets a bit in the middle. Other than this, it's a beast. Specially if you combine it with side pockets not too big. I recommend the E&E Helikon canteen pouches.
      The HT Bergen is smaller in size, but more organised and (IMHO) a bit more user friendly. A real daysack. (Jaakari S is a pack you can live from for a week, if well seized). Also, very versatile, good old looking, and less tacticool.
      At the end the choice is between a large bucket swallowing everything, or a more dedicated daysack plenty of possibilities.
      Helikon also has the Raider, a really well designed and versatile daypack, larger than the bergen.

    This backpack would be perfect. However there are 2 straps missing at the bottom of the pack. Meaning you cannot hand a tent or a sleeping bag at the bottom of the backpack

    Happy Memorial Day! Why don't most reviewers say the price? It looks like a great bag, and your review is thorough, but Helikon Tex gear seems wildly overpriced most times.

    • @errisa1176
      @errisa1176 Před rokem +2

      @@ThePreparedWanderer I have seen you do that. I wasn't necessarily accusing you of intentionally doing that.
      Your response of "Go watch some more videos" is less than welcoming to a relatively new subscriber.
      I'll stick around for a while to see some more videos, but in these atrocious financial times, it seems price should always be a consideration.
      For instance, you sling bag video just before this one specifically stated the price. At first, I thought it was a bit high, until you showed me the tactical uses of an edc bag that can be shifted and used on the fly in tight quarters. The price seemed much more reasonable after you very good review.
      I'm hoping you were just in a bad mood when you responded so disrespectfully without even answering the general question.

    What is the difference between this, and the Helikon-Tex Matilda pack ???
    It looks smaller than the Matilda, snd has no way of adding any extra pouches, like the Matilda does on the sides.

    • @danawankinthewoods.5642
      @danawankinthewoods.5642 Před rokem +4

      I can answer that for you as I got both.
      The helikon bergen is fully cordura and small in size, it holds (officially) 19 litres, but it's a very organized 19 litres. It's hard wearing and really well put together.
      The Matilda is the same, except larger, more molle options but its made from 90% nylon. When fully loaded its painful to carry and as much as I want to like it, I simply can't.

      @@thefucrew9865 No mate. The matilda holds close to twice the amount, it just isnt comfortable doing so over long distances. The outer pouches draw the weight weight away from you and the straps cut in.

    In conversation with computer friends, and after seeing that I couldn't access your Facebook page, it was concluded that there are formatting in it that prevent me (and perhaps others) from accessing and becoming a follower. It may just have to do with the location you want to see your page. Something's going on on your side and I'm guessing it's just authorization of sorts. Keep up the good work.
