It does. I like how we will probably see a change in Thomas' character from being kinda happy go lucky to sad and hurt and inevitably, doubtful or doubting in some ways.
That scene hit hard! 😭💔 I liked Raman a lot. All 3 episodes was intense. They did an amazing job as usual ❤

I was saying to my husband now I see why Thomas doubted. I still didn’t care for how this was done since Jesus came back to the scene and did nothing but could have. I wish they had the disciples take him away and not be there. It made Jesus look inept.
@@mechelledesigns I think they had him respond to the wails and grief of his friends (as real Jesus would have - he would not have just ignored their cries to avoid an uncomfortable moment). They had him look to the Father and only do what was in His will, even when it hurts him on a personal level, as real Jesus would have. Sometimes our pain will be used to bring glory to God in an even bigger way down the road than the glory he would have got from making everything right in the moment.
Permissive parenting (saying yes to avoid hard moments) is not good parenting. Sometimes the answer must be "no" or "not yet" for the long run growth and development.
I can see at least 3 accounts straight from the Bible where this is heading (2 relating to Thomas and one not about Thomas at all) and it is going to be beautiful!!
@@bette5373 This simply is a creative critique of a production that to me was unnecessary. The Bible mentions Peter’s mother in law being ill and Jesus healed her. That was within his inner circle. Of course he healed Lazarus and the little girl. Both of these people were dead and brought back to life. This storyline is fiction okay.
@@mechelledesigns yes, this story line is fiction. No argument there! I do think it will be the same type of fiction as Gaius's back story and Eden's miscarriage, that is fiction to drive home an account (or multiple) from scripture, not just for the sake of having creativity and shock.
Oh my gosh. I'm excited. Dallas did really great going there with Ramah and Quintus. I sort of suspected that Ramah might die from the get go because there's nothing in the bible talking about Thomas having a wife. I'm not saying Thomas was never married, but I don't recall a Ramah in the bible at all.
Everyone was saying shocking and surprising, but to me (as someone who hasn't seen it yet) I came to this conclusion myself before seeing any spoiler. To me that would be the only thing that was shocking to fans, but necessary to remain some accuracy with the gospels. I was anticipating it because fans would not accept if they mutually parted ways in the series, and she would need to be out of the way for Thomas to fulfill his role in the gospels. In one of the trailers, Thomas was looking sad and then looked up at the night sky and smiled. To me that hinted at my suspicion. When people said "shocking" I put the pieces together myself.

I saw the movie at the theater this past Sunday. I was struck with such sadness at the end. This season will be so sad, we know where it is heading. I am thankful that The Chosen has touched so many people. I hope it will wake people up to understand what our beloved Jesus did for all of us sinners.
The scriptures say that Jesus was "a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief." (Is. 53:3) May we look to Him when we are in times of trouble.

Not only is everybody changing in these new scenes in in this episode but they're definitely going to see the change of Jesus and his attitude towards what he has to go through and it might be hard for them to realize what he has to go through and keep up. It's going to take a lot of patience on their parts there are parts for Jonathan Rumi playing Jesus and what he's going to have to go through
May the nature of Christ's life and experience come through and bring many to study the word of God even more.

I suspected her character wouldn’t be there at the end but I had suspected her father wouldn’t allow her to marry Thomas and to stay. This season will be hard for sure.

The fact that they’re revealing this spoiler so soon gives me an indication that Ramah might end up being okay. Why would they reveal this spoiler so early when so many people haven’t even seen the episodes in theaters yet? I don’t think Ramah’s story is over…🎉👏

I loved all 3 episodes, but gosh I didn't see that coming at the end of the 3rd episode. I was wondering how they were going to go on with her part. That hug from Simon Peter to Thomas.. gosh that was impactful because he knows very well how much pain when Jesus can't heal. The scene with John breaking those shackles..🥹🥹 that really hit me. Him showing Jesus, I'm free!! No more earthly shackles, I'm waiting on you. 🥹 now I'm waiting for 2 weeks to see the next 3, and yes 4 weeks the final 2. I couldn't wait.. lol.. love her comment Sooooooon...😂

For the record, Jesus did have a brother James, but that was not him. That was James, brother of John, son of Zebedee, nicknamed "Sons of Thunder". Different James. Also there is a third James, another follower that walks with a cane and limp, which is different from the first two.

I'm a devout Catholic growing up watching the 700 Club. In the 80's, in the Philippines, we just had some 6 major TV Channels. I don't know why as a child of 10, I thought your show was much better than most. Keep it up friends =)

All those attacking me for complaining about spoilers....LET ME CLARIFY. There were NO spoiler alerts on the TV original broadcast where I saw it.....coming here is the only way to let them know. Stop assuming.
That’s what happens when you don’t release the season simultaneously in theaters and streaming at the same time. People need to have a choice especially if they’re committed to crowd funding and/or investing in this project. Everyone has their reasons and more often are very legit reasons for their decision on how to watch what they’ve help make. It’s real simple.
Yes, particularly because the release in theatres is only happening in some countries and within some of the, only in big cities. The rest of us must wait for it to be in the app.

I think with her double duty as a television actress on a network show, this shouldn't come as a big shock. She was the most expendable character and since she isn't found anywhere in the Gospels, the writers had very little choice.

I can't help but remember in the 2nd season when her father implored Thomas to take care of her and Thomas said he would.

Personally I think she'll be resurrected when Jesus is resurrected because in Matthew 27 it says the graves were open and the saints that were asleep are awaken and come out of their graves.. it also paved the way for Doubting Thomas' way of life. I think they did this masterfully.

Spoiler alert if you haven't watched episode 3 of season 4.) When an actor no longer wants to be part of a TV series (e.g., Graham Wardle, who played Ty Borden in the TV series Heartland, or Megan Boone, who played Elizabeth Keen in the TV series The Black List), the screenwriters figure out a way to incorporate their removal into the plot. A friend believes that 1) actor Jasmine Al-Bustami who played Ramah wanted off the series, or 2) her acting in the TV series NCIS Hawaii conflicted with The Chosen's shooting schedule, or 3) pressure from far-right groups who did not like her role in The Chosen because she also played a lesbian Federal Agent in NCIS, prompted the screenwriters to come up with the ending to Episode 3 of Season 4. Then they manufactured other reasons for that ending.
Ok now that the cats out the bag. Yes Rayma dies😢 I was stunned , shocked. 😳 I held my breath I couldn't breath it was heart breaking the way Thomas begged jesus to bring her back to life. And when jesus didn't Thomas throw his body on Rayma and screamed 😭 there wasn't a dry eye in the place. I'm still hoping jesus brings her back in episode 5. Why would he bring Lazarus back but not Rayma 😮😢🤔

Interesting. In this clip, you referenced big James / James the greater as Jesus’ brother. While it’s true Jesus did have a brother named, James, but you were incorrect in this reference. Big James is the brother of John, known as the sons of thunder, son of Zebedee and Mary Salome. So clearly your reference may be a bit off. But I do appreciate your effort.

She was such a great actress who played a huge role and I'm going to miss her. Hopefully she can find another spot in the chosen even if it's only background but they with their expertise can change her hair her face and make her a new person and play a regular role. I like The Chosen series, but DID NOT like them killing off Ramah. What was the point there? That seen gives people no hope for getting their prayers answered. I wish they hadn’t put it in. Besides that, it’s a scene that is not in the Bible at all!
Many people died during Jesus earthly journey, including Joseph. When you pray, not every prayer gets answered in the way that we want them answered. Only if it's in God's will.
@@Gwaycee , Jesus NEVER turned anyone away who asked Him for a miracle. He answered them all in the Gospels. The only exception was when it said “ because of their unbelief.”
@@angelirohival6270 Not answering our specific requests exactly as we want does not mean He has turned us away. God's ways are way above our understanding, and He works out all things for our own good. Jesus allowed John the Baptist to die, and Jesus Himself died, so we are not immune from death.

Hard as it is to go through such an experience, yet God's plan will prevail even when it appears to be contrary to our wishes, because He has a reason for it all.
This episode actually made me want to read my Bible more. Not because the scene was so powerful but because of how inaccurate it is to scripture

This wasn't a spoiler for me, as I saw it in the theater first. However, that being said, Ramah getting killed (by Quintus) was a huge disappointment for me. They built up her character for 3 seasons, and then Jesus leads her and Thomas on by getting their hopes up and then this happens, and he refuses to heal her. I would have rather there had not been a Ramah. It doesn't make Jesus look good either.
Yes, I realize this is just a fictionalized version of the gospels, but it hit home hard to me as I had a similar version happen to me 33 years ago.

I am amazed that fans are upset at the death of a fictional character. Bad things happen to good people everyday. This is a TV show and not the Bible verbatim.
Let us pray that the stories told by the series encourage and draw more people to deepen their faith in Christ Jesus.

It is setting us up for why Thomas became Doubting Thomas. The Bible doesn't say what caused him to doubt so Dallas created a filler for a story line.

You are right. Maybe the host called him brother in a friendly manner, not actual brother of Jesus.
But Jesus wouldn’t have let that happen… healing would have occurred. I’m referring to the end of episode 3… because the Scriptures say…. Matthew 4:23-25 New Living Translation (NLT)
“And whatever their sickness or disease, or if they were demon possessed or epileptic or paralyzed-he healed them all. “ As you can see from this verse, the real Jesus healed anyone who came to Him. So I think “Come and See” studios messed up with that last episode… at least they didn’t abide by the Word of God. Besides leaving it on a sad note. However, the new Chosen was great as usual!
The Bible does not tell us everything. We don't know that there weren't others that weren't healed.
I never saw the chemistry there and it didn't add anything to the show. It was nice seeing her learn from Mary but again not that impactful. Then i saw something recently she said to quintis about Thomas. I won't miss her character in the show. I'm hoping that i adjust to the new Philip though.

The actress playing Rama, Thomas GF or fiance' was one of the reasons I stopped watching The Chosen. Dallas still chose to keep her after Season 3 in spite of her playing a lesbian in NCIS Hawaii and she actually made out with another woman. Yuk! Glad to know Season 4 is her last.
I didn't watch NCIS, but I did see something online about the lesbian role. It did change my perspective.... it was really disturbing to see.

I guess I usually separate the actor from the acting, or there really wouldn’t be anything to ever watch. She did a great job playing Ramah, and her other characters don’t really change that for me. Dallas only asks the actors to honor the story and do the work to tell the story properly. He doesn’t ask his actors to believe everything that he does as long as they work hard to bring the story to life, and they have absolutely done that. In my opinion, you missed a lot of great episodes, many that don’t even have Ramah in it. However, that is absolutely your choice. To each their own.

Jesus could and should raise Raima from the dead. If he doesn’t this is all garbage. I am not watching this show ever again. If he raises her I will watch again. She and Thomas were supposed to be married and Jesus blessed it. If I were Thomas and Jesus doesn’t raise her from the dead I would never follow Jesus again. I am outraged by this, I am sure there are others who feel the same.
