Been watching for 6 years now and I love how your channel has grown. Keep going, I love the videos.
I haven't seen you on CZcams for a while! Finally you are back, that you are in good shape, and that is the most important for all of us. Thank you
I haven't been active in this channel because of COVID. Can't go prospecting with all the lockdowns we've been having since last year.
However, I have another channel that I've been very active with. Link below the video if you're interested. It's called "Growing Succulents with LizK."
Thanks for watching. Keep safe and healthy.
@@LizKreate thank you for this information about your other channel! My niece loves succulents but isn’t very good at growing them yet. She’ll be thrilled to see you have more videos about your garden.
@@LizKreate Liz the link for your growing succulents channel doesn't work
@@fuzzynubbins Just look for PEDRO the Budgie. That's his channel name.
@@fuzzynubbins Succulent Channel is called "Growing Succulents with LizK." Thanks for letting me know.
It is so delightful to see you both back prospecting. Thank you for sharing your adventures xxx
It must be so thrilling to find each piece of topaz or gem. I think I’d scream each time. Gosh I hope I get to go looking for gems one day!
It sure is. Thanks for watching Jeanine.
All I can say is go out and look. I live in New Jersey in the USA and my entire life I thought we have nothing but silica here... hell 2ithing half mile of my house there are like 6 sand holes. Well recently we started picking up clear "QUARTZ" only to start noticing differences in the way some polish and cut. After much testing and speculation because identification online is a nightmare with similarities and mislabeled stones we are confident a ton of the stones we are finding are topaz and sapphires. It blows my mind and I would love to get professional testing done but I can't simply afford it at the moment however my confidence in some of the stones is at an all time high. The topaz polishes cleaner and cuts cleaner. The quart and feldspar like to chip more and are a bit harder to get a clean shiny polish. The sapphire is super solid and when it touches a diamond wheel right after cutting quartz the quartz feels like cutting butter in comparison.
If you don't mind where are you located. I might be able to give a list of gems to be on the look out for.

I live in Orange NSW Australia. Thanks
I can not wait for our flood season to let up. Me and my queen went into this river bed that was dried up and found lots of topaz and quart beds. Small one's but that's good enough too make some little jewelry or even placing them in plants as a drain base. I noticed the river banks are flushed with beautiful green plants during the grow seasons and I think a lot of the growth is due too the energy admitted by the crystal's. LG, life is good, especially when you and your love can go noodling for beautiful crystal's. Thank you guy's and much love too all of you in Australia 🦘🦘🦘🦘.
You're welcome and thanks for watching Bj. Nothing better than finding these gems yourself. Keep safe and healthy. Cheers, Liz
So clever and know so much! Feel like having treasure hunt game, it's fun and exciting! Looking forward to see you and the stones you found🥰
Fun....I enjoy your trips.
Glad you like them Adela. Thanks for watching.
Hi liz, it's so nice to see you again!
Wonderful video as always. 🙂👍🙂
Thank you! 😊
Perfect for my before bedtime relaxation routine. Thanks, Liz, I always enjoy your videos.
Great video and gems , thanks for taking us Rock lover along, have a great day
Thanks, you too!
I'm in Austin Texas and the state stone is blue topaz. I've spent several days out in the area where it is found and nothing but quarts, Micah, feldspar and pyrite. I'm not giving up until I find a nice piece of blue topaz. You make it look easy and just gave me the desire to go back out and Hunt some more. Thank you! :-)
Some of the clear quartz you have might actually be Topaz.
Most Topaz in nature are colorless. Most blue topaz that you see in jewelry are actually colored or enhanced(radiated). Very rare to find a bright blue topaz naturally since most of them are light blue or baby blue as I prefer to call it.
I cut a couple of topaz and set it as earrings for my daughter which she wore on her wedding day. I forgot that I made it and thought she was wearing a diamond earring. It sparkled like a diamond.
@@LizKreate you are correct, I have several pieces that I am certain are topaz but they look like they have freshly come out of the host Rock. Two small pieces but they have a different type of inclusions then the quartz I find around the same area. I know that the blue topaz will turn clear once it is exposed to sunlight. Thank you so much for taking us on your adventure and for sharing with me your knowledge. 👍🌎☮️♾️💖♻️🙏🧘🌟💎🤳
Great sharing Love It💙💙💙
Thank you! Cheers!
Great video Liz thanks 👍🏻
Thanks for watching!
Hi Liz, it’s always great to see the notification come up that you have released another video. I watched this one within hours of the notification.and then again this morning. Very cool video with some great tips for us novices, (even grey haired ones). Those tips are great to keep in mind when out fossicking, it’s so easy to cover a lot of ground without results by not thinking of how gems and stones are deposited.
I haven’t tried my hand for Topaz even though I have know Simon at O’Brians Creek through work some time ago. I can’t wait to get up there and catch up and try to find some of those great pieces that that area is known for. Keep Safe & Keep Rockin
This was our second trip to that area and can't wait to go back there again. Good luck. Hope you find a nice big blue one.
Well done liz..
You definitely don’t mind getting your hands dirty.LOL
HOPEFULLY you guys are doing well in your first lockdown..
Talk to you guys soon.
Cheers Famo59 🍻👍⛏🤓

I found my first Topaz this year in North Carolina it was a real gem then found 3 more but my sister beat me by finding a blue one
Ahh this is so exciting, as soon as I finished my classes I watched your video. Always amazing. Looking forward to find pretty Topaz like that too in the future :D.

Get excited every time I see you post! Can't wait until the lockdowns pass and we can all get out for a dig again
Hopefully soon. Take care and stay safe.
Awesome! Looks so relaxing and enjoyable.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks Liz. We go fossicking here in Tasmania for various things. Isn’t it common courtesy to fill your holes in when you are finished so the next person who comes along doesn’t get hurt? (I meant the fossickers prior to you not filling their holes in.)
I was thinking the same thing!
I am sick and tired of filling up other peoples' holes which eats up into my fossicking time.
Yes it's common courtesy to fill up the holes but I always put it down to INCONSIDERATE and LAZY people. We promote people do the right thing but unfortunately, there are always a few bad apples who don't adhere to proper prospecting etiquette.
Thanks for watching and keep safe and healthy. Cheers, Liz
nice trip looks hotttt out there , still mid 90's here , but i still go hounding , nice finds
Thanks for watching.
When looking for a special stone
You leave not one stone unknown
That special stone is one all alone
From deep below a stone is grown
Because of crust it's often thrown
Great advice on were to dig What great finds Where you there just recently before Lock downs? Can't wait to get going ! 😥 Thanks for keeping our dream going with your videos

Nice work!

just realised...everybody on the planet lost at least 18 months .. glad you can get back out there
Nice..I hear a Filipino accent...sounds like my aunt.
Mabuhay. Thanks for watching.
Wow
I found a big one like that in Victoria a few weeks ago! And two star sapphires. I don’t know why people go to so much trouble ripping up & destroying creeks when it’s just so easy to noodle and far less laborious.
Thanks for confirming my find with your comment re the cleavage plane. I knew it was a topaz but couldn’t quite remember the exact word to describe it! ❤
Thanks for watching and glad to know you find the video helpful. Cheers
The deeper you go the better the topaz. But just like detecting, you need to fill in your digs.
Great finds ❤
Thanks, Tina. 🥰
Good video
Glad to see you’re back! I always enjoy watching your videos: not only are they interesting, but they’re also educational.

Are snakes a big concern? I would think with all that poking around big rocks and tree roots you are bound to run into a few critters. It looks like you got another great haul! I'd love to see what it is you do with your treasures!
In the past 30 years I've been poking around rocks and bushes, I'm yet to encounter snakes. I make a lot of noise on approach and this gives plenty of time for the little critters to run away from me. Thanks for watching Mike. Keep safe and healthy.
I wish i could show you and Wal some places down here in victoria 💯 our farm buddies gauruntee youll find something outback just gotta have the right set of eyes 🙈
That would be great. Please send us a message on our Facebook page, WalnLiz. Thanks for watching and Happy New Year!
Sure thing :) and happy new years to you too Liz! x
should i start digging those mountain rocks in our place 😂
Hey Liz I live in Victoria and would like to look for crystals and cool stones, what kind of areas would I be looking for in my state? Not asking for specific sites but what kind of environment.
Hey i live in victoria too!! Its hard finding good areas down here, but keep your eyes open, some places you would not expect, iv come across a rock thats black and rainbow irredescent inside, i think it may be a peice of ammolite, i know of some areas, like Mortlake, Lismore, Camperdown, Elaine. All noteworthy aussie places 👍 make sure you got ur miners rights!
@@foxylady4163 so far I have one place in Ballarat that I found what I think was sapphires it's just I haven't been there in a year and when I first went there I assumed it was bits of glass that someone threw in the river I never expected sapphire to be that easy to find.
There's a book called Gemstones in Victoria by Bill Birch & Dermot Henry. This shows all the available places to go to hunt for gems. A bit of research online as to exact locations and best to check with local information centers for more info. Good luck and Happy New Year!

Still alive and kicking. Just can't go out fossicking due to COVID restrictions. Thanks for asking. Cheers, Liz
💯👍💪👏👏
Ничего не понятно, но очень интересно ❤
How is different to know quartz and topaz
Hardness, cleavage and crystal structure. Both these stones have very distinct look even when tumbled and rounded. Cheers, Liz
My friend's name is Franklin Seeber
What is the possible source of these topaz?
Topaz usually forms along fractures and in cavities of igneous rocks, usually in the latter stages of magma cooling down when there's enough minerals to form topaz. Cheers, Liz

I actually think you don't know what your talking about! At the beginning you show us one topaz! Then nothing! With all your scratching, nothing! At the end a handful of topaz. A bit confusing really. So where EXACTLY did you find these topaz? A no go show!
No need to be hostile...I upload these videos so that I can share this wonderful hobby with others who appreciate the time and effort it took to do these videos.
It seems that you only watch the first part and the last part of the video and have lost the context of what the video is all about. The title of this video is "How To Prospect For Topaz" and not "A Show and Tell of every piece of Topaz dug up." Cheers, Liz
@@LizKreate I'm glad you responded. It's an opportunity to apologize for my rudeness. I had a rubbish day! That's no excuse really. Again, so sorry. I actually enjoy your shows. Kind regards, Marie.
