  • You found Eegah. You know you can watch every full episode of MST3k at www.club-mst3k.com right?
While driving through the desert, a teenage girl is frightened by a 7-foot giant who appears in her path. After escaping, she returns to the site with her boyfriend and her father in an attempt to find the giant. They do, and it proceeds to terrorize them and the rest of Palm Springs, California. By the way, watch out for snakes! (from wikia)

Eegah has this sense to it where you can feel the 50s turning into the 60s. All of Arch Hall's crooning is 50s style, but the opening credits and the music behind them are really psychedelic for a movie made in 1962. I always loved that.

For example, James Best starred in "The Killer Shrews", Ron Howard was in "Village Of The Giants", Peter Graves was in two MST3K-riffed movies "The Beginning Of The End" and "Parts The Clonos Horror", Michael Landon was in "I Was A Teenage Werewolf", Raul Julia was in "Overdrawn At The Memory Bank", etc.

This is the debut of the whirleybird model on television. It's a Bell dude.

When you think about it, this movie is basically King Kong. Except instead of a giant ape, that movie had a gorilla.

24:40 As a huge fan of the band Styx, this joke kills me every time. "Oh my god, you're right, Joel!"

Gobbie is right; Arch Hall, Jr. was excellent in The Sadist. I think it was his best and certainly his most believable performance. In the real world, he's a pilot, musician, and a very nice man.

Thats a Fender Jaguar guitar. Brand new in 1962 with a Reverb amp. Top of the line then. Budget can't have been that low.

Low enough for budget actors. High enough for a hotel, nice cars and guitars. Tbh just sounds like an excuse to get all that
