- Some races go to plan, some don't, but either way we can learn something from them all. Lavaredo Ultra Trail was a good reminder of some important lessons: pacing, hydration and nutrition. I'll be applying what I learnt about these 3 areas of racing as I move forward and train for and race my first 100 miler, UTMB.

It's so awesome how you can be so candid and honestly reflect so openly about your races. You're critical and you really go a long way to give the rest of us insight into how to improve our own game. Not only that, but you run the risk of letting your competition "into your head" for the greater good. Really appreciate your insight, and thank you for letting us take a snapshot from the perspective of a professional ultra runner :)
Thanks Harry, i like this video a lot. A lot of substance without a lot of stuff you dont need to waste your time on like cheezy music, fancy cameras etc. appreciate you sharing your knowledge. a lot of ppl run semi-fasted to train but i also think it's important to learn how to run while eating solid food and be able to process that food while moving.
Thank’s for the transperancy. You did a fenomenal race and for a back of the pack runner it’s encouraging to hear that even a pro learn from race experiance. Keep it up 🙏
Well done Harry a great result 👊 Mental toughness on a course is really difficult when you’re having a bad race like. Well recovered and lots of info for you for UTMB. Good luck you got this 💪
As always really enjoy your posts. we are never to wise to learn it would seem. Thank you for sharing your insights always an inspiration :) All the very very best for UTMB.
Congrats on 7th position despite your setbacks. That's a great achievement. All the best with the next one. 👍
Well done mate Jc.
Not a bad result at all Harry , valuable experience it seems. - congrats 👍🏻Your time will come.
Great video. Looking forward to see the UTMB training vlogs. It would be great to hear more about your hydration strategy e.g. volume/time and how fast you consume your electrolytes (little and often?).
Really helpful stuff
Loving the channel Harry 👍🏻
Good point regarding dry heat and humid heat. Also not to drink very cold water that sits on the stomach.
I wana see u WIN UTMB 💪🏽🤩
See u in Chamonix ✌🏽
good job Harry!
Congrats on your fantastic results Harry!! u are such an inspiration!
I’d love to know what your daily routine is plus food as i’m a vegan too and running trail.
Thanks and best of luck with training and new ultra!!
Great video... as always. Good luck with the UTMB. I’ll be cheering you on from Belgium.
Well done Harry! Keep doing YOUR thing man, enjoy the training ahead, and all the best.

Thanks for sharing Harry!
You're so Inspiring!! Please keep making these videos you motivate me a Lot!!
Peanut butter and jam sandwiches are great 💪💪
Try jam and cheese sandwiches ;)
PB+J+white bread = race food greatness
Peanut butter and marmite for me!
Congrats man 👍
Hey man! Congrats!! One question I have. Is hoka providing you with custommade shoes? Because you are runnning the mafate 2s right? And for me they just seem to be a tiiiny bit to tight for those very long days and I was wondering if there are other hokas that are as durable as the mafates but just a little wider in the forefoot! Best of Luck for utmb dude!!
Great video!
Love it. Not sure if I missed it but what sort of powdered nutrition do you use for mixing with water for calories?
Hey Sam, I use drink mixes from Unived. Unived.in ships internationally or unived.us in the States. If you decide to try it out you can use code HARRY10 for a discount.
@@HarryRunsUK thanks mate!
My race went quite similar to yours except my legs weren't trained enough to get the bounce back for the 15km downhill. I need to train more hills both uphill and downhill. How would you compare the difficulty of this race to Mozart, Eiger, CCC, and the other 100km+ races you have run? I'm looking to fill out my calendar for years ahead, but probably not too many as hard as this one was.
Hi Harry, great content as ever. Coming back after a very long break from regular running. Last big achievement was a half marathon in March. Any advice? Struggling with motivation.
