Fathers and Demons

  • In the beginnings of our life, everything we know about God, we learn from our earthly father.
He may have not been there, abusive or unloving; nonetheless, this is how our Heavenly Father has made things to be.
Most of us need some or a whole lot of healing because of the failure of our earthly fathers.

I praise and thank God that He gave my sisters and I two loving, generous and supportive parents. They certainly weren't perfect, but I always felt a deep love from my parents and grandparents. I now likewise, love my own children more than I Iove my own life. My wife and I always taught our children to love the Lord even more than they love us. The Lord is the only father that will never break a promise or let us down. Praise to our Lord Jesus Christ!

This was so good-but very difficult to listen to, as I still struggle with the sins of my father who I learned was a pedophile years ago. He rejected me as a baby as I wasn’t the boy that he wanted to mold into his Masonic image. It was devastating, and my childhood memories are of packing my little bag to go with him on weekends and being stood up year after year until i gave up on him and started trying to find in men what I didn’t ever get as a daughter. I believed it was because I wasn’t good enough, pretty enough, etc. He came back into my life when I started having children-only to groom my son to molest him-which led to years of drug addiction and alcoholism as my son tried to stuff his pain. When I found out 10 yrs ago, we filed charges because my son was not the only victim, and we wanted justice. He was protected by his Masonic buddies in the legal system and it was buried-and my son ended up being a victim of the justice system. The church definitely needs more Godly father figures-because at 55 I still have a need for a father (I think daughters are wired that way)-or even a kind, genuine Godly male I can trust in my life, and I know none. It’s been more painful than words can describe-but God is good. Thank you for sharing these life changing topics.

The relationship between my dad and me is rocky. We were fine when I was living away but now that I moved back closer, we just dont get along. He wants me to be certain way and do things his way. I cant tolerate it bc somehow it reminds me of the years I was in an abusive relationship.
My dad has tried to be there for me...but his way. It's like he extends a hand but let's it go if you dont take a step how he wants. Or holds you back with the other if you dont understand him or have your own way.
I understand that God is strict too but he is compassionate...or maybe I am overreacting to my dad's way of being.

    • @GameChanger597
      @GameChanger597 Před 5 lety

I don't think you are overreacting. He sounds a bit controlling and nobodywants to be wants to be controlled by a parent especially when they are an adult. It seems like your dad doesn't know how to show unconditional love, and when you don't do everything the way he wants, it probably makes him feel like you don't love and respect him, yet his pushing this makes you feel like he doesn't love and respect you and doesn't show you true acceptance, and there continues the vicious cycle. Maybe if you told him you love and appreciate him and explain how it makes you feel when he puts restrictions on you, it would make him see he doesn't have to try so hard to push you into doing what he wants you to do. Just a thought. Pray about it.

      CandyCandy
So weird...my relationship with my Dad sounds so much like that! He wants to help me which most of the time I appreciate, but it seemed to come with a very “controlling” price tag. I began to kindly decline his offers of help & let him know I’m taking care of (whatever) & I really wanted to learn to be more independent, but thanked him anyway. I noticed he would seriously blow right past my boundaries as if I hadn’t said ANYTHING...and text me back or tell me later that he went ahead & ordered “such & such” part will be down next week to install etc. At first I thought maybe he didn’t understand what I had said earlier...then I thought maybe he’s just being protective or wants to do it, like a “fatherly” gesture.
But then I started noticing this strange pattern. Every time he would offer to do something for me (even though I didn’t ask, but was grateful) ...he would text me back & accuse me of taking advantage of him or other crazy things...the most painful was when he would accuse me of getting rid of the “breadwinner” (my ex) whom he knows firsthand was extremely abusive to me & finally...even to my children (which is when I had him removed from the home through a court order). I know it can only be demons speaking through him to say such things, but it still hurts.
A few few days later, when I don’t respond to his bizarre texts.. he will call or text without any apology, and just act like he never said or did any of those things. (?!?!?)
I genuinely want a relationship with my dad, but he has been very resistant to “God” related conversations for some time. I’m praying & confessing this will change, but am I suppose to just endure his cruel words & viscous attacks on my character that are complete nonesense?!! These always happen a few days after he feels he has done something for me...almost like if he thinks I “owe” him because he helped me...then he has the right to unload all self-loathing & hostility about his life & project it over onto me...and I’ll quietly put up with it, because I always have when I was growing up.
I think my dad genuinely loves me & I genuinely love him. I feel sorry for him, but am sometimes unsure of where to draw the “line.” At what point can I still HONOR him as my Dad & be there for him, but disengage from the controlling dynamic, that’s been there forever. I don’t want to be the family dumping ground & scapegoat anymore. Ughh.
I understand King David so well, when he said,
“Oh that I had wings like a dove! I would wander far away & be at rest. Behold, I would fly far, far away.”
      Mhmmmm, yes.
Far, far away & be at rest. 😥

Continue to seek the Lord with all your heart, and He, Jehovah God, will reveal himself to you. It's a journey to growth in your Christian faith/development. Once you break away from that influence in your life, don't look back. Continue to seek the Lord. I too was raised JW. I understand you may be scared. Praise God you have been delivered. Pray without ceasing. The only way for salvation and deliverance is through the blood of Jesus Christ the son of God the Father who was sacrificed just for you. Jehovah Witnesses don't believe this because Satan has deceived so many, and these good people believe this lie. Pray for yourself and for your brothers and sisters. I hope you don't mind my responding. I feel led to reach out to you. You are going to be okay. Trust in Jesus. Get rid of the New World Translation (their bible) and get a real Bible KJB.
