I remember getting to see him wrestle at my last dual invitational when I was a senior in high school, I think he was maybe a Junior or Sophomore at the time, and one of my coaches pulled me aside after my last match for the day just to watch him wrestle. I remember my coach telling me, “That kid is going to be competing for a national title one day”. He may be representing Mexico, but he’ll always be a Tucson wrestling legend

Looks like the mats used mainly in international competition (freestyle/Greco). I think tarp, layed over a cushioning. I don't think resilite mats are used much outside of the States.
It's called dual citizenship and Tucson is an hour from Mexico. How is this being ungrateful? This only makes the international competition more fierce.

The years he won those titles were some of the weakest years of wrestling in NCAA history. He wouldn't stand a chance in the stronger years with better talent in that weight class. FACS
