  • Andrea Muzii from Italy impresses at The Mind Sports Olympiad Memory Championship in London by memorising a deck of cards in under 30 seconds.
Competitors have a maximum of five minutes to memorise the deck but they can stop the clock at any time when they have the whole pack committed to memory.
They then have five minutes to rearrange another, unshuffled, deck into the same order as the one memorised.
When complete, the entire deck is revealed alongside the deck which had the original order to see if they match up.
In his best attempt, Muzii managed to complete the challenge in just 24.63 seconds.
He was a little disappointed, however, as had hoped to break the current world record which stands at an incredible 19.41 seconds.
The clip was filmed on August 19th.

@@The_Scientist89 short term memory but you can consolidate the information with "spaced repetitions" bringing them to long term (you do this with actual useful data). These information will remain in his "memory palace" for about maybe 4/5 days without active recall them but you want to forget these random information so you can use again the memory palace

I bet that he really could do that. But this video doesn't show proof that the kid hasn't pre-memorized the card before. At least it should have been really shuffled before giving to him.

But constructing images whether using the major system / Person Action Object system or Dominique in 24 seconds is questionable!! Probably he memorized them earlier and did it again. I didn't see him shuffle the cards before starting the memorization process. Either way he did put the time and effort to memorize them. Which what matters. cheers
