having watched some videos on your channel this is the first time I heard you have a small conversation in finnish! so impressed and proud of you for taking the time and pain to learn the language! :)
haha sometimes I speak Finnish in my videos :D Thank you!
@@DAIKIFinlandLife oh okay :D then I've managed to miss those ones! btw have you tried out sushi wagocoro in Helsinki? If you're doing more reviews on Japanese places in Helsinki, check it out!
"EhrensvÀrd" is a surname. It comes from count Augustin EhrensvÀrd, who was the architect who planned the sea fortress in Loviisa. He was born in VÀsterÄs, Sweden in 1710. Died in Mietoinen, Finland in 1772. He also planned the Suomenlinna sea fortress outside Helsinki. His grave can be found there.
That's good to know!
@@DAIKIFinlandLife Also, you were wondering about the pronunciation. It's pronounced "ËĂŠËrensvĂŠËrd" - so pronounced like the finnish word "ÀÀri" without the "i" + "en", and the word "svĂ€rd" you already pronounced quite well. Just a longer "ÀÀ" sound like in the beginning of the name :). The name could be translated to something like "Honorsword" - "ehre(n)" = from the German "honor" and "svĂ€rd" = from the swedish "sword"
I have actually been there and sat for coffee and pulla with my cousin on the outside deck of that large cafe you went to, in the summer of 2016. All of my motherâs family settled into the area of Virolahti, Hamina and Kotka, and are still there. Only my mother left Finland after she married my father (also Finnish) in 1959.
Hamina and Kotka in summer seem cool.
I haven't been to Loviisa before, but now I want to visit it. I love how Loviisa has the same old wooden house districts that are present in Kokkola and and Pietarsaari/Jakobstad. It's a style that is common in coastal cities with past Swedish influence. I really enjoyed this video and I would love to see you visit coastal Pohjanmaa/Osthrobotnia one day! â„ Also if you happen to visit Kokkola I can give some tips where to go đ
(edit) also about finnish forest walking trails:
I feel like there's something inherently finnish about all those trails having two paths to go around, and also letting the cut branch just sit there and not be cut down, but instead everyone just goes around it. I don't know if it's laziness or just adapting to live with nature. đ
Thanks for watching. Kokkola and and Pietarsaari sound very interesting!
đ lovely tour, cool homes, and hiking đđđđđ
Great video! Might have to visit :)

I was born in Lovisa and I love this town. I have lived in Helsinki and Stockholm, nice towns also - but Lovisa is Lovisa †Thank you for visiting my hometown and showing so many places from different views!
Thank you! Loviisa was lovely.
Hope you can visit more of these small towns. Definitely going to visit Loviisa.
Sure, I will!
Omg! Youâve visited my childhood hometown! đ€© When were you there? We were there 8-12 July.
30th of July. It was lovely!
Loviisa is so cute⥠I love your videos. I think you should visit Iisalmi sometime. North from Kuopio. They make some great beer there at Olvi brewery and also have a museum about the beer craft.
Thank you! That's a good suggestion, will check it out.

You too!
Having a home in a small town in Finland must be very affordable...!
Daiki, did they mail you your permanent residence card yet? It's been 4 months.
I get that they take summer vacation... I hope that you'll get it soon and make an "unboxing" video
Not yet, I know it can take long :)
