The battle of Hydaspes was a war without result, a lot of historians said Pourush wasn't lost the battle, It was Alexander who was scared. Behind the Paurava state, there was India's biggest dynasty at that time with its million of the trained army, named, Nanda Dynasty. Alexander never fought with the army which had Elephants, so he was scared, and his army didn't want to go inside India, cause they knew they couldn't defeat Nanda Dynasty, Paurava wasn't a big state though this state stopped Alexander. Then if Alexander entered the mainland of India he knew he couldn't return alive. That's the fact.

Actually there is not a single refrence of King porus or porusuttam and of alexander in Indian history...Greek historian says that the battle was fought near the Jhelum river but there we all know that there was the taxxila University and if any great king lost a battle against any invader than there must be some records from Indian history
But there is refrences of alexander's successor his army general nikator
I think that porus was only a small border chief And Alexander lost the battle against him...Greek historian says that there were many elephants which makes it difficult to win

He was defeated by our small king Porus , also Alexander was overrated by the western historians , Moreover the battle of hydaspes war was going on near the Nalanda University and not even a single scholar wrote about it so if we see from Indian POV , Alexander was nothing but a small intruder who tried to capture our nation but was defeated by a small king Porus!! Although by small king I didn't intend to hurt someone's feeling or disgrace King Porus either I Showed the defeat and overrateness of Alexander , Because at that time there were many big empires such as the Nanda empire at Magadh who warned Alexander not to invade India or else they will get a henious and cruel defeat!

The truth is that Alexander killed his own father, for his kingdom because his father didn't liked Alexander as he was not his own beloved son. When Alexander killed Darrius he didn't took his army because Darius didn't fought with him in the war with his army instead he surrendered himself and ran to his neighbor kingdom. When Alexander was in his way to poravrastra he came to know that Darrius's daughter was going to poravrastra with a huge army to fight against Alexander. So he decided to trap her in her way and marry her in order to get the whole Persian army and he did so. When he started to fight against India he was there supported by Persian army and two other Indian kingdoms. But still porus fought and almost won. But due to his mothers death in the war he was depressed and lost. By looking to porus's bravery, Alexander gave him back his kingdom and also some part of the other kingdom's........This is what everyone say...............
    Now the truth............
In the war of Hydaspes, Alexander was actually defeated by king purushottam(Porus) and was thrown out of the kingdom. Due to his defeat he didn't chose the direct way to his home instead he took the longest and most miserable route, where he killed himself in his sorrow of defeat. Porus won some part of his country. Alexander's army chief is also said to kill Alexander. His army chief Salukis took on his empire and killed king purushottam by cheating and attacked india many times, but was finally defeated by the strongest king of Indian history King Chandragupta Maurya 1.
All that about he was impressed by porus's bravery and gave him his kingdom back and died due to fever is all lie, which was written by the Greeks in their manuscripts in order to show the world about how great the Greeks and Alexander is.
Anyway Alexander was really great but porus was hero, legend and king.

Anabasis of Alexander and other books were written five centuries later. Arrian's Anabasis has traditionally been regarded as the most reliable extant narrative source for Alexander's campaigns. Since the 1970s, however, a more critical view of Arrian has become widespread, due largely to the work of A. B. Bosworth, who has drawn scholars' attention to Arrian's tendency to hagiography and apologia, not to mention several passages where Arrian can be shown (by comparison with other ancient sources) to be downright misleading.
Arrian was raised in the northern part of what is now modern day Greece. Born into Roman citizenship, he studied in Athens around A.D. 107. It is also important to note that around this point in time Plutarch’s Lives was beginning to be read and circulate around the Roman world. Other then that not a great deal is known about Arrian’s early years. He served in the Roman army as an officer; while in the service of the empire, he was stationed in Gaul, what is now modern day France, and in the Danube frontier, a territory north of Greece. This military background served for a great deal of Arrian’s understanding of Alexander’s life, and gave him the military eye that proved to be helpful in his writing of the Anabasis of Alexander. Very little information is available about Arrian’s career until he is appointed consul in A.D. 130, a high position within the Roman government. In 131 he was granted the office of governor of the Black sea providence of Cappadocia. Arrian was considered to have been a good friend with the Emperor Hadrian, and his personal connection to a Roman Emperor led to speculation regarding the promotions he received throughout his life. Arrian’s most famous work was the Anabasis of Alexander; it was written in Attic Greek, which was a common form of Greek. It was used so that both Greek and Roman people would be able to read his work. Published in 145 A.D. it is the last of what we would consider a primary source regarding Alexander’s life. A. B. Bosworth states it perfectly, “The study of Alexander as we have seen, is in large part the study of Arrian, who provides the constant thread against which the rest of the tradition must be assessed.” From this quote in order to understand one we must understand the other. Trying to answer the questions of who Arrian was as a historian, or more simply who hewas as a man, may prove difficult. However, from there we can begin to understand what influenced him, and possibly shaped his view when looking at a figure like Alexander. In Arrian’s narrative of Alexander the reader does not have the chance to read about Alexander as a boy. Arrian begins with Alexander’s rise to the throne of Macedon. Arrian begins his history of Alexander by commenting that, “there is no one over whom historians have been more numerous and less harmonious.” Making it clear that he believes that his depiction of Alexander will be the truth and definitive. Arrian also makes it very clear that he uses primarily two sources, Aristobulus and Ptolemy. “My own view is that Ptolemy and Aristobulus are more trustworthy narrators, for Aristobulus took the field with King Alexander; Ptolemy not only did the same, but he was a king himself, falsehood would have been more shameful to him than to anyone else.” Arrian tells his readers where he received his information, but modern historians are not lucky enough to be able to consult his sources. Arrian tries to make his lack of sources valid by convincing his readers of their accuracy. Saying that Ptolemy would not have lied because of his noble standing, already creates within the reader a certain amount of doubt. This doubt is furthered by the fact that the reader is then getting a version of the story filtered through Arrian who is so separated by his subject that an completely true representation is impossible to accomplish. Arrian also makes a definitive statement near the end of Alexander’s biography, “a great many other stories have been written by the historians … falsified told them, and will indeed never cease handing on these falsehood to others in turn, unless it be checked by this my history.” Arrian is claiming that his history is the most accurate. Also he praises Alexander by saying that, “No one man gave proof of so many or such wondrous deeds, whether in number of greatness among Greeks and Orientals alike.” There are lessons that Arrian wishes to comment on through the story of Alexander the Great, saying that he was great, but Rome is great now. However, there is something still left to learn.

It has a controversy that if Prithviraj Chavan killed Mohammad Gori or not ,, because some historians claims that a jaat king killed Mohammad Gori .it is mentioned that Mohammad Gori was killed after some years he assassinate prithviraj chavan means that prithviraj chavan didn't kill Mohammad Gori. Rest is tangled history.

And just like THE GREAT ALEXANDER has crushed COWARD KING PORUS under his feet, am sure that ALEXANDER THE GREAT has also defeat CHANDRAGUPTA MAURYA and invaded INDIA. Even the coward KING PORUS and CHANDRAGUPTA MAURYA along with CHANAKYA could not do anything to protect INDIA from the wrath of THE GREAT ALEXANDER😂😂😂😂😂😂. SO CAN YOUR KING SAMUDRAGUPTA DEFEAT THE GREAT ALEXANDER????

10:24 You can see that Buddhist monk in his funeral. Alexander didn't faught any battle with any Porus or any other king in India. His mind was converted by a Buddhist monk he was made to realise himself, of what he has done. When he understood what the monk was trying to tell, he had a self-realization and he conquered and won himself which was his greatest victory. Since, then he was titled as 'Alexander the Great' similarly Ashok was also titled as 'Ashoka the Great' because his mind was also diverted by a monk after he had shed blood of lakhs of men making children orphans and women widows in Kalinga. Alexander was undefeated with his victory over himself and didn't faught any war since then. Amazing fact is that he also created the first impression of Gautam Buddha i.e. the statue of Gautam Buddha the Gandharan statue which is of Greek style. Ashok also sent a Buddhist monk to Greece to spread Buddha's dhamma.

Means you got defeat by an Indian king so you declared that his heart melted and he got inspired by buddhism. Wow that teach us how to change real history with fake history. But bro you can't know that every Indian know about maharaja puroshutam and alexander

@@swatishrivastava1112 Yes because of conspiracy theories made on king 'Purushottam' idk from where this new name has been created. Till now everyone in India knew him as porus and 'purushottam'. Let me tell you there's not even a record of such a battle in ancient records. Not even a king named Porus or purushottam have been recorded there. But we find Greco Buddhist culture and Greek style Buddha statues.
