    Although I'm going for a bigger system, your step by step tuition solved a lot of issues for me which weren't clear before. Thanks a lot, very informative and helpful.

    Really like the steady, methodical approach to teaching. Very helpful. Thank you. A video on how to connect it to a solar panel with solar charge controller would be helpful as well.

      Hi! Sorry for the delay of my reply. This is where I got the kit: smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0834MTG3X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Your video is very helping. How to recharge this power box? Can I add extra battery as much as 4 batteries. Do i need extra component to protect all the component inside?

    • @diypowerbox
      @diypowerbox  Před 2 lety +1

      Hello! I hope that all is well for you! Thank you for your inquiries, it is encouraging me to come up with another video to address the recharging options.
      Disclaimer: Please note that I am not an electrician therefore my recommendations below may not be accurate.
      1) Just a heads up, I recharge my battery simply by connecting the plus and minus recharger wires directly to the battery terminals. Another option is that I connected the recharger wires to a car charger plug (12v cigarette) inserted into the 12v socket on my diy powerbox. I purchased my recharger from Amazon. As you may already know, there are different types of rechargers according to battery compatibilities. As for my powerbox, I am using a recharger that are made specifically to recharge sealed lead acid batteries.
      2) As for your battery questions, you may connect as many batteries that you'd like as long as they stay at 12-volt range, this can be achieved by connecting in parallel. Also, it is not recommended to mix different types of batteries such as Lithium Ion, GEL, SLA, etc.
      3) I am using a usb kit (usb outlet, on-off switch, 12v car charger, voltage monitor). I think that this maybe the "component" that you are referring to? In my powerbox, since they are connected in series, I decided to use only 1 fuse to protect all of them on which I think it's all that I need. It is possible to protect each item with their own fuses but that would require a different wirings.
      I hope that this helps. I wish you success on your project!

    What size hole cutter was used to make the holes?

    • @diypowerbox
      @diypowerbox  Před 19 dny

      I appreciate the question! Unfortunately, I don't remember the size of the hole cutter, I had many sizes. I manages to use the right size by measuring the outside diameter of the socket to use it as my reference of which size.
      I wish you success and having fun on your DIY powerbox project!

    Very good tutorial, how do you charge this unit ? .....can a solar panel be used ? ....or a ordinary low amp charger ? Than you.

    • @diypowerbox
      @diypowerbox  Před 2 lety

      I think it's a good idea to use solar panel for charging, I will have to look on that option. I think that an ordinary low amp charger will be good to keep the battery maintained - I should do that. I appreciate for your great idea.

    Please post how to change the battery

    • @diypowerbox
      @diypowerbox  Před 2 lety

      Hi! I apologize for not being able to produce more videos. To change the battery, as per your question, all I need to do is to disconnect it. To charge it, I bought this item on Amazon and simply carefully connecting the charger leads to the battery terminals. I hope that this helps a bit.

    What type of charger do you have for the 12v battery

    • @diypowerbox
      @diypowerbox  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi! I'm sorry for my late reply but I appreciate for your inquiry. I'm using this charger on Amazon smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TTNV9LZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I still have to come up with a convenient way to connect it to the battery terminals. When I find time to come up with another video, I will do the charging as a priority.

    what is the type / size of the fuse?

    • @diypowerbox
      @diypowerbox  Před 2 lety +2

      Hi! I got the fuse and inline connector from this seller on Amazon, I hope that this helps you get an idea. In this video, I am using a 5 amp of fuse considering that most of the phone uses 2 amps then plus another devices therefore 5 is about right.
