    Always put a fuse at the positive terminal of the battery so it's protected at that point. Other than that, good build!!

    @BDTube2006 Před 2 lety +2

    Nice video-- however, one slight flaw in the design. You're running all the power through the master switch and volt meter before hitting the fuse box. That is the weak point and potential for heat/fire risk. You may want to splice an in-line fuse in between the battery and the master switch. Plenty of room and fully protects the system. Other than that, looks great!

      I was just gonna comment the same thing but figured I’d read the comments first to see if someone else had made the comment already.
      Instead of putting an inline fuse before the switch you could rewire the fuse block between the battery positive post and the fist switch,no?

    Fantastic video! I totally think I could make one now. I want to make one with a regular rv battery to power a 12v fridge and some usb plugs. I just have to figure out a good way to get my mc4 wires through the box cleanly and weatherproof.

    I notice that none of the power box builds include neoprene or rubber washers to help make the box waterproof. Any reason for not using them?

    How many times you cut your fingers on that screw right by the handle bad spot for that

    How do you charge the battery? Do you just open it up and use a battery charger? Maybe add a charge controller to use solar to charge.

    • @JHicksJigs
      @JHicksJigs  Před 3 lety +1

      My plan exactly! I’m going to attach solar so I can carry a mini panel with me and that’s how it will charge!
