  • It's Groundhog Day (again), and to celebrate, I'm comparing a bottling from a new batch - Batch 8 - of one of the most highly rated whiskies I've reviewed on this channel: GlenAllachie 10 Year Cask Strength Batch 7! These are batch-released core range Speyside whiskies matured in Oloroso sherry, PX sherry, Rioja wine, and virgin oak casks. They are non chill-filtered, natural color, and Batch 8 is bottled at 57.2% ABV. In this video, I review Batch 8, then taste Batch 7 and Batch 8 in a head to head comparison. Which one will come out on top?

Great review, like your in depth explanation I agree with every batch is little different. I only had batch 3 &5, I like batch5 so much got a backup. Glenallachie is my favorite sherry whiskey including 12&15.

I can't, I thought I would have to collect these but I can't. 1. Price keeps going up. Plus I did not see most batches at all. It's only ten years old so a price hike was not cool. Cask experiments, even with Billy's skill, don't appeal to my subconsciousness. And most importantly, for such a young whisky I want to know that it's actually the new spirit that Billy distilled.
For all these excuses I am simply waiting for batch 10 (heard great things) to come across my path for $75 or a few more years when the whisky will be all new and really expensive.
