Tom just gave out a masterclass in PR right there. He took a question about how he feels about the GOAT discussion and turned it seamlessly into how he's excited to be joining the fox broadcasting crew.
Interesting . I thought he turned down calling games

Tom is secure in his legacy but it's borderline disrespectful to claim Mahomes has already surpassed him as the GOAT & I only say borderline bcuz I do believe Mahomes ultimately will do it but it's currently premature af 😂
Based on how he answered the question, he's ready to be on that broadcasting crew. Avoided the question without making it seem that he did. This is textbook politician level of communication
I like how he made sure and said “if anyone can win 7 super bowls more power to them” 😂 basically saying he’s got a long ways to go. Which he does
Football is a team sport so basing the best player on who has more SB wins is silly. Mahomes is clearly more talented imo.
@@Rye-jl2fk Sure more talented as in a better arm, faster, more athletic etc.. But a GOAT QB is more than that
@Rye-jl2fk you don't fall into 7 of em by accident.
Mahomes has more physical talent which is all most fans can see. Brady is probably the smartest player to ever suit up.. and that's even more important an ability for a QB.

Excellent answer. Just because there's a debate, that doesn't take away anything from Tom Brady. If anything, it will extend his legacy.

Tom just brilliantly showcased his expertise in PR. He skillfully transformed a question about his sentiments regarding the GOAT discussion into an effortless segue about his enthusiasm for joining the Fox Broadcasting crew.
Although I am a long life Chiefs fan and love the Mahomes/Reid era, I've always been a huge fan of great players. My favorite player of all time is Dan Marino. Tom Brady is a player that I have always admired. He is the poster child of what it is to be a great selfless teammate. He always structured his contract so that the team could spend money on players around him. Patrick Mahomes is that guy as well. Yes his contract is huge but he is not the highest paid player and even though he deserves to be he knows that he doesn't need that. He makes tons of money elsewhere and he is fine with what he has. Tom did a perfect job with this interview. Props to him
First Chiefs fan I've seen that I like. If Mahomes ever leaves the Chiefs, don't treat him how some Pats fans did Brady. When Brady wanted $30 million when he finally left, fans were saying "we can't pay him that!!!!!!" It's too big of a cap hit, it's better to have money to afford these defensive players, WR's blah blah blah, "he's not worth it." It was disgusting. Hopefully you guys never go that way. Although I don't like how some of you talk about Tyreek Hill... but whatever
Mahomes is a great competitor and even though his fans are making these stupid arguments, I guarantee he probably thinks he needs to get to 8 himself. He wouldnt want to be the GOAT on lesser rings and losing 2 head to heads. He doesnt seem like that kind of competitor and I'm pretty sure he admires Brady anyways. He's even said he modeled his recent playing style after him. So I think Mahomes wants to personally get to 8 rings and wouldnt want anything less.
We called him Trigger Dan in my urban ghetto in Miami.

Love that tom doesn't take anything for granted
Tom Brady is not only the G.O.A.T. he is a man with a heart of gold. I have a friend whose son has MS and is in a wheelchair. Years ago after a Patroits game Peter and his son were waiting outside the players exit after a game. Peter shouted, "Mr. Brady can you wave at my son he is a big fan. Tom walked over shook Nicholas's hand and had a few words with the boy. Less than a minute but a life time memory.
That was such a good answer. This man can really speak in a diplomatic way. ❤
Brady always gives respect, class act dude. I'm a Chiefs fan, still think Tom's the goat, at this point.
There’s going to be millions of kids who watch Mahomes that will never have watched Brady play that will call Mahomes the GOAT!! Both are the GOAT of their respective generation!! Both dominated the sport, and we need to appreciate the greatness that both displayed!! With that said, Brady passed the torch, and Mahomes will eventually have to do so as well!! Let’s just enjoy what we witnessed and are still witnessing!!
Not how it works. There is one player who is the greatest of ALL TIME, that's where the name comes from. There's objective analysis for these kinds of things. I hated Brady for about half of his career, but at his 5th or 6th Championship you simply give it up for the guy, he is the GOAT. Mahomes could threaten that depending on what he does, and I actually have really liked Mahomes from day 1 (even though it sucks to see him in a Chiefs jersey) but he's yet to even be close to Brady on so many things that there is objectively no debate, at least not yet. And for there to be a debate there is A LOT of catching up to do. Favorite players don't equate to GOAT, that's a pretty mediocre mindset.
Beautifully said. 👍
@@raider1297 Brady being the goat isn’t an objective statement. People may have other criteria in what they believe makes a player the greatest.
Football is the ultimate team sport. The quarterback is a very dependent position, they need a stable offensive line, someone to catch the ball, a decent run game, good coach, and most importantly a great defense. Obviously some great quarterbacks can find ways to win battling adversity, but there is a reason why some elite quarterbacks don’t consistently win rings. It’s not easy, there is more than just the quarterback that brings the rings.
@@raider1297 I don't know who started this whole retarded multiple "goats" thing, but it needs to end. I'm pretty sure what they MEAN to say is "greats", not "GOATS". But since people can not think objectively, they just repeat what they hear. Still, it's completely annoying lol.

I’d put roethlisberger over Aaron rn unless Aaron can win 1 more SB. If he can somehow win 2 more, I’d put him over Peyton. Rodgers had plenty of opportunities to get more rings.
@@Fitkid7672arron has had like 2 opportunities.
Most of his playoffs losses come from his team being out-matched and making tons of mistakes.
He has to try to play a perfect game to keep them in it. That's not something you do in the playoffs.
There are tons of games I could bring up but I will bring up the one against Brady.
In that game his team dropped a TD a 2 point conversion.
Aaron the running back for some stupid reason decided to go into the middle of the field and get tackled with a low clock and keep it running instead of running In the sideline and going out of bounds and stopping the clock before the half.
That made the team have the inability to use all their downs for a TD and had to kick a Field goal after one play.
Then Aaron fumbles the ball at like the 30 right at the Start of the second half and Tampa take it to the 10.
I almost forgot about that horrible DB that cost greenbay the TD before the half. 2 huge penalties and another 50 yard play.
Also don't forget the specials team giving Tampa short field.
Aaron had everything going against him.
Could have arron played better. Of course, you can always play better in a loss. My point is Aaron had way more things going against him because his team around him kept making mistakes.
Tom's team committed like one big mistake that game.
That's how most Greenbay losses happened.
The one game I still think Aaron deserves blame for even though he was injured and the team choked was in that Seattle game.
That probably the only game where the other team and QB make more mistakes and Aaron still managed to lose it.
Considering what happened in the last minutes of the game it's not his fault entirely but if Aaron took advantage of all the opportunities the team should have been up by like 20 at least.
How? He played at the same time as him, not before him. And if you saw them at golf and events, you can see they're clearly friends with great respect for each other. No shot at all.

And it will no longer be no debate. Mahomes will get close enough, for there to be legitimate debates. But I really don't see Mahomes getting 7 rings. I think in 2-3 years, once Kelce and a few other key players are gone, there will be an inevitable dry spell. And Reid will retire long before Patrick. How will that affect everything?
Looking at the receivers now, I think the Chiefs will actually have better offensive weapons in the next few years. The other AFC teams have to get good and not choke against the Chiefs. Ravens, Bills, and Bengals specifically.
Even if Mahomes does get 7 rings, I think Tom will still edge him in the GOAT debate. Because, when all the chips were on the table, Brady beat Mahomes in both the AFC Championship and Super Bowl at the ages of 41 and 43.
MAHOMES DONT NEED 7 SUPERBOWLS IDIOT. TO BE THE GOAT. JUST LIKE MJ DIDN'T NEED 12 RINGS TO BE THE GOAT...
@@morningfog532mahomes already edge out tom
@@morningfog532BUCS DEFENSE BEAT MAHOMES NOT TOM BRADY. 😅😅 this is nonsense
I'd love to see Patrick play in the early 2000 when you could bury the qb.
Bro, I’m not a football fan really, watch it here and there. Why is this a question? And show respect to Tom.
Tom respects Patrick
Greatness appreciates Greatness ❤
Tom did do things on the field that took away from what Mahomes was trying to do :)
Like?
@@tribulation138 Beating him in the Super Bowl one year, and beating him in a conference game a couple of years before then.
@@nickthomas6827just eli beat Brady in the Super Bowl
@@FatboyReg Yes, that happened, but what does that have to do with anything in the Brady v Mahomes arguments?
@@FatboyReg Lol. Eli again when Brady's head-to-head record against Mahomes is mentioned. What a stupid point. Is Eli in the running to be the GOAT? Just because he beat Brady in 2 SBs? So brady is the standard for Eli to be the GOAT? get out of your fat a5S fat boy, you sound sooooo stupid.
Tom Brady has so much class!! On Pat Mahomes!! Let’s go Pat Mahomes!
He’s also 2-0 against bro in the afc championship n super bowl
@@Frank-mt2hfEli is 2-0 against Brady in the Super Bowl
0:50, u did tho tom 😂
Class personified
Pat is getting closer. His team and his play this year wasn’t his greatest, but he did it when it counted the most.
Slow down, he has not won his 3rd chip,. Even if he wins his 3rd, it will take a lot of work to pass Montana. TB12's7 Chips are untouchable.
@@joencrypto8133Montana had 40,000 passing yards with arguably the greatest football player ever. The reason they only talk about 4-0 in super bowls because he really didn’t anything else beside that. He’s a hall of famer because of what he did in those super bowls but his overall career was nowhere near the best
@@brandonneumann5294 Montana had 31 4th quarter comebacks. So he had Jerry Rice, greatest WR. Mahomes has Kelce, could easily surpass Gronk.
@@joencrypto8133 Kelce is definitely a better receiver than Gronk, and I'd be surprised if he didn't pass all his stats, but Gronk was just a phenomenal all-around TE and didn't have a weak area outside his knees which was the only way to bring him down. Gronk was like having an extra tackle on the line on top of being a runaway train downfield. Even late in Gronk's career as he slowed down, he was able to still be a very competent blocker which is what you hope of TEs as they get older. Kelce though is a notoriously bad blocker and is pretty much just a big slot receiver, which he's extremely good at. Kelce will absolutely blow past all of Gronk's stats at this rate and maybe even Super Bowls, especially ones he's played in, but he won't surpass Gronk as the GOAT TE.
Too early to even have that conversation. Mahomes is definitely on the trajectory.
Yeah it’s too early after 6 years and 6 afc championship games , 4 Super Bowl appearances, 2 Super Bowl mvps , 2 league mvps , ect you would intelligent 😂😂😂😂
If he wins in two weeks that’s three rings in 6 years it’s not too early bud
Tom went 3 for 3 in superbowls and 9-0 postseason in 4 years. To start. He then went to the afc championship game 8 years in a row and 3 superbowls in a row 2016,2017,2018. He also went to 4 superbowls in 5 years 16, 17, 18, 20. He was also aged 39,40,41,43 those last 4 appearances and won SB mvp 3 times lol. I would love to see mahomes play that long and still be that great. Tom did this while having a decent arm, no legs, no scrambling ability. Far more impressive. Mahomes is a ln athletic machine, brady breaks all the rules.
Mahomes isn’t better than prime Brees imo
@@Joeybago12 check out the stats though lol Brady didn’t even play in the first AFCCG during that run….he didn’t play and the won to go to the SB. Mahomes is diff
All people will remember in 20yrs is tom brady in his 40's won the two big game's they faced each other
AFC CHAMPIONSHIP & THE SUPERBOWL
I’m a chiefs fan and a huge Mahomes fan.
With that said, Mahomes may pass him statistically but where it really matters is Rings. Team Super Bowl wins in my opinion make Brady the GOAT. Brady lead all those teams to championships and that’s where IMO it really matters.
Well said. Brady carried a mediocre offense and receiving corps on his back deep into the playoffs quite a few times.
brady is the current goat but your reasoning makes it sound like mahomes can't win enough rings. if he wins this upcoming super bowl he is on that brady trajectory in terms of super bowl wins. so your reasoning is what i'm not on board with. the main reasoning is brady just finished his long career while mahomes is just getting started.
These casuals trying to bury Toms legacy to anoint Pat.
Patrick has a long way to go. I’d say he needs like 3 more SB’s to put him in the debate for GOAT with Tom. If he can win more than that, I don’t think u have a debate for GOAT QB.
Fr
It's too early for that, but he is definitely on his way. He has to win a couple of more Superbowls!
They were trying to anoint Mahomes When He had one super bowl FFS, I remember undisputed and first take having ridiculous "Is Mahomes already the GOAT" discussions going in to the Bucs Chiefs Super bowl a few years ago. It's not like it's impossible for Mahomes to end up as the GOAT, He's obviously on an insane trajectory, but the Rush to do it is just dumb AF, reminds me of all the "Trout is already the GOAT" talk from about 5-6 years ago although Mahomes has actually added to his resume whereas Trout is yet to even win a playoff game.
You must be a cheater yourself.

Goat doesn’t taunt the fans or players off the field*

He only broke the stats because he played 24 years, mahomes is on pace to astronomically surpass every brady did
Brady also played in the easiest division ever for 2 decades and surrounded by cheating scandals.

Better résumé, for now, Brady. Better actual player, Mahomes by a 100 miles.
The ring thing is almost not applicable at this stage also, mahomes on a better pace, and if you really go with the ring thing, then you have to say that Bill Russell > Jordan
