A run-in with a Dark Wizard bent on world domination leaves Jake (me) defenseless and stripped of magical powers. Enlisting the help of his wizard friends, Jake (me again!) must regain some semblance of what he lost using science to create an invisibility cloak via radiant energy, overcome the forces of gravity to fly with magnetic energy, and to create a wand through electrical energy - all before confronting the Dark Wizard once more in the hopes of defeating them once and for all.

This show's combination of science and humour is amazing. The writing is just incredible. Combined with the awesome special effects and constant guest stars this is easily my favourite series on youtube.

Or rather a "Can You Survive" video. I still enjoyed the "How It Could Work" take though.
These are not really can you survive videos it's just an excuse to talk about some pretty cool science stuff like how is he able to create "wands" using science

well yeah, its really the same thing as shooting a laser or beam of energy, instead of electromagnetic radiation, its just kinetic energy in a projectile.

you know one contradiction that i noticed, when i read the books, is when hermione says in i believe book 4 goblet of fire, that around hogwarts electronic items dont work, something about the "magic in the air, interferes with the signals",
but in book 2 the chamber of secrets, colin creevy, brings a camera into the school, and regularly takes pictures of the students and in the end the basilsk with it throughout the campus.
it was just one of the many inconsistencies in the harry potter canonical universe i noticed.

and also yeah, i also wondered how easy it would be to solve the many problems in harry potter with a simple gun.
*also something that i just thought of, why do they need wizard trials, when they have veritaserum? that seems overpowered, and would be foolish not to use.
@@livethefuture2492 It would be interesting to explore a story where someone brings in all kinds of muggle artifacts into Hogwarts. And regarding veritaserum, that's a very good point! My guess would be that it's a huge violation of privacy, easily abused, and so is probably illegal to use, except in special circumstances. It's also hard to make, I think. It's probably expensive for the ministry to purchase a lot of.
I love that William got to make the wands after literally making wands to get out of having to buy one in harry potter land.

I went to an arts and science high school that had a class called the science of Harry Potter. You spent the entire semester basically living this episode. Making potions, and mechanical things that work similar to magic in the movies.

You are a very underrated youtuber, love your CYSTM series
This video reminds me of the same thing I kept thinking while watching Harry Potter as a kid. With the rare exception of the weird creatures like the Basilisk, dementors, or dragons most people in the series would be better off grabbing a pistol than a wand when fighting. Wands offer much better utility and variety but when a simple painting or drywall can block most spells they simply aren't the best weapons.

The trick is to just leave school immediately after your last final. That world is nice enough to give you a small window of enjoying post exam freedom
May I suggest the muggle "Wand of Automatic Missiles" with the addition of grenades of horrifyingly damaging shrapnel? Otherwise known as an M-16 and a frag grenade. In fact almost any gun could kill all those guys before they could get the actual spell out and once the steel slug rocketed through their chest or head, they'd probably lose interest.

Better question is how to become invisible without going blind. You would have to somehow create a unidirectional field that lets radiant light energy it to you while simultaneously preventing the light energy that reflects off of you from traveling away AND carrying the light from your surrounding around yourself in an unbroken image.

As the guy who made the fire wand, it only shot that far because I SPECIFICALLY told William to SWISH and FLICK and you can clearly see no swishing or flicking of any kind! ADDITIONALLY you have to pronounce the incantation a specific way, emphasizing the Aaaahhh sound
