Said in the update notes the Norscan Frost Wyrm is being renamed as a Chaos Frost Dragon
neat
It makes sense. It's basically an icey Chaos Dragon, so it would make more sense to call it a dragon rather than a wyrm.
Does it fly though?? I thought it was ground bound, which is why it's was called a Wyrm???
@@jamesespinosa690 yeah makes sense this one is called a wyrm, the chaos one being called this was a bit weird as it was clearly a dragon.
He clearly didnt read any of the articles, or he recorded this before he did, because he missed some important stuff like the cathay monsters being mounts for some characters and how the lore of hags basically change the spells when theyre overcasted
5:25 he's about to cry
Well the gatekeepers are former Jade warriors. Just imagine what he went through
His job is to hold the gate. That's not a job with long life expectancy.
is it just that model or do units not blink? I have never noticed it before
@@TheNzFox That is the weird part, some do and some don't. It bugs me because I always notice it.
noo why did you tell me this i cant unsee it any more xD... someone make a mod for that already!!@@tiborcsendes5269
Druzhina actually means a group of people, a retinue or a warband of a leader. For a single member of this group the correct term would be druzhinnik.
Naming poor Kislev dude "Druzhina" is the same as naming an Imperial general "Militär" or "Armee".
Druzhina is what they’re called in medieval 2 as well iirc
Да, молодец, ты все правильно сказал !
@@alphabromega859 In Medieval 2 the unit represented a group of warriors, so that is the correct term. The same as warband for some Celtic units in Rome.
those improvised halberds some of the kislevites have look pretty cool in a ramshackle kinda way
That's some pretty damn hefty weight they added to the near tip of the pitchfork, they about to have the most impressive physique in the whole game 😂
These are war scythes that were commonly used during uprisings in Poland and Eastern Europe
Main thing I hate is how all the kislev units are just reskins and appear to share the bulk of animations with different stuff. Feels like a cheap gimmick. Like the halbers Kislev warriors are just using chaos warrior great weapon animations.
@@robosoldier11also annoying:
Empire spearman with cuirass and helmet - 30 armor
"Halberd" guy equipped with hat and mustache - 30 armor
Imho the whole Kislev style is broken and looks like a cheap mishmash of random models with glowing icicles. Especially new golden knight's pauldrons are cringe.
Thank fucking god. I needed Kislev's early game to not be the worst thing ever
just buy more kossars
Genuinely hyped for my little halberd guys, gotta say
Kislev is super easy at any part of the campaign.
@@saltedllama2759 its not about difficulty, its about having nothing but the same 1 or two units to spam for 30 turns, and that is assuming you count 'slightly different weapons but still filling the same role' as different units
@@saltedllama2759dude plays on easy/easy
@4:27 she must get her clothes a little wet then lets it freeze onto the chill chair, the biggest trick is not getting frostbite, but i assume the lore of ice probably has a spell to enjoy snow days more.
What came to mind was a pretty typical toy solution of having a huge plug go up in the ass, she even looks like a toy sitting there 😂
its made worse by the worms animations, you would think she would be holding onto that chair for dear life with how they wiggle around, going to funny to watch in combat
Lorewise ice witches are immune to the cold. She could walk around in a summer dress in deep snow for weeks and would be fine (asside from lack of food and water)
@@TheNzFox she has mastery over ice is it so hard to imagine that being able to not slip off ice is beyond whats shes capable of?
@@TheNzFoxSeat belt :3
It's worth noting, that they changed the name of the Norscan Frost Wyrm to "Chaos Frost Dragon". And this is the new(actual) Frost Wyrm.
Better watch your mouth man all the Norscan players are gonna show up at your house, both of them
@@IceBear-jb1ip well, we'll be here, hiding behind our *walls*
@@bruuuuuuuuhhhh

Silenced doesn't remove magical attacks, it prevents units/characters from using abilities/casting spells. The removal of magical attacks is just another effect the iteam has, but it is independent from the silenced attribute.
"Dampen" iirc. The lammasu has that
BRO, the Frost Wyrm mount is fucking amazing
As a mount? No, as a simple monster it's a lot better
She looks like a lifeless toy sitting on that goofy throne
I saw the sled and was like Finally they got her the damn sled.... then they break out a whole ass wyrm? I am prepared to forgive that DLC, with all this it really feels like it's worth my money.
Sled could have been way cooler. Those horses are dann boring. Hope for cools mods @@banriswirl6414
Not for those who gets carsick
Frost Wyrm mount is stupid and doesn't fit in with Kislev at all. The flanderization of factions with new GW content is horrible. Hopefully no more new GW units in the next DLC's. I shudder to imagine how bad Tigermen will be.
I gotta say that the partly Refund for Pharaoh and now some new free stuff for an already sold dlc is something is quite unusual from what I've seen in most cases. Of course that was much needed for the DLC, but still somewhat unexpected, at least for me.
Don't have it yet, but I am far more inclined to do so now.
This gives me some hope, that the Apology from CA could actually be meaningful and more than just PR.
Maybe We'll even get some proper Historic Titles in the coming years. ^^
Love your Summary Videos Zerkovich.
Hopefully they remember this fiasco, and make sure their future things are up to scuff, and not just think 'we can release it shit, and if people dont buy it, just add more later'
@@kharnthebetrayer8251 glad TW community votes with their wallets tho. You see too many franchises get fucked bcs people will buy anything even when devs are packing their games with microtransactions.
@@kharnthebetrayer8251 A lot happened in the months between SoC and now, lots of management level changes so a lil bit more excitement is nice along with caution
the fact their more recent communications have been flat out 'yeah it was bad' is the highlight for me, no pr speak, no 'just deal with it', no blaming the community, just plan 'this product is not worth the price and we aim to change that'.
because they shat themselves, literally no prospects outside of Warhammer after burning all that cash on hyenas and every other title failing miserably in the short term
They let the design and art team cook on this update, those single entities looks awesome!
You definitely need a closer look at the Lore of Hags considering how overcasting turns a lot of them from debuffs (against the enemy) to buffs (for your units).
Thousand yard stare on the Cathay hero
He’s been guarding the Great Gates for a while. He’s seen some shit.
They did the golden knightess dirty with those warcraft sized shoulders
Should be pretty easy to mod off. She should have llaminar shoulder pads
It looks good. The Golden Knight is both a skill, and prestige kind of post, and big ass pauldrons scream I am HIM, or in this case, HER.
Armor looks partly unpolished. Especially regarding the helmet. Shoulder stuff should look a bit less “janky” and the helmet looks too covered. Cool glowing eyes but sled horses could have also needed some glowing eyes… instead show more of the golden knight face…
Literally my first thought as well when I first saw her.
She does look pretty sick though, definitely more on the fantasy style of armor, but it's LITERALLY better than the armored bikini or mini skirt most women get, so i'll give it a thumbs up.
celestial lions as a mount option would be so cool
definitly, generic Cathayan lords lack monster mounts..
@@Sebek031 they look like a wow mount that i use to want when i was a kid
@@Gabriel-px8cv they are mounts for celestial general’s
They are.
Already mount, just wish Shugagan and Cathay general could have more mount option..I mean general had a horse and balloon. Who in the hell will ever use regular general
The 5:15 friendly enemies bit is the reason I love this channel so much. Thanks Zerk, keep doing what you do best. Being amazing ❤
4:57 Well, they say keep your friendly enemies close, and your enemy friendlies closer
This will make me buy the DLC now….when it goes on sale XD
I'm more excited for the badass mods that will created with all these delicious new assets
A gundam?
Amen to that!!!
Thanks man, love your quick and precisely explanations
On a side note @Zerkovich heads up, the scroll the Champions of Tzeentch get don't cast the 3 spells at once. It casts one of the 3 spells at random when you use the the ability.
One small thing you missed is astromancer for cathay can use moon bird as a mount. Honestly makes them very useful, caster on a terror causing super fast bird.
Kinda makes the alchemist look like chopped liver..guess if you need metal caster, but only has one mount option.
I hope the Alchemist will get a cool mount option too later on. Kind of sad they didn't give them one of the lions (jade/jet) to be honest. Feels a bit like a missed opportunity
Celestial Lion looks like a useful Manticore. Frost Wyrm is a great way to use the Cathay dragon rig. I think dwarfs might actually get a golem based off the sentinel.
The exalted hero of tzeentch is holding his halbert a little weirdly, the lower hand seems to be clipping through.
It's actually quite a common thing troughout the game. A lot of units weilding two handed weapons have their lower hand clipped because the model is attached to their upper hand. Their left simply follows it which makes attack animations easier to do. It's annoying but not too big
Fantastic overview, Mister Zerkovich! Definitely enough of a content boost to make the DLC worth it IMO. Will be sure to pick it up before starting a Kislev campaign.
ahahaha ha 5:00 he looks so lost almost asking "why would have that been me"
Seems pretty good to me, happy with that effort, happy they went back and fleshed the DLC out :) ty for the video dude
That gate master, he saw his whole company wiped out by a tiger men ambush
Only played Cathay, but Saytang is absolutely insane in a range focused army.
So glad you're back
You should do a video on the Lore of the Hags, since overcasting any of the spells, makes them buff allies or at the very least, prevents them from taking damage from your own spells.
I hope the Ice guards in Katarin's chariot will actually use their glaives in melee range.
Still don’t understand why they didn’t made all ice guard on the sled… hopefully a mod will fix that (and the damn boring horses)
@@klavicus2276 horse are fine in fact Kislev needs more horses and less bears it feels more like Age of Sigmar than Fantasy with all the bears, people forget Kislev has a lot of Cossack influence in their theme
horses are fine BUT MAKE THEM MORE INTERESTING ffs give them glowing eyes, a frosty breath and maybe some jewellery like the snow leopard has then they are sick badass frosty horses which fit katarin. Like this they are just boring looking grey horses. I don’t need bears even I like bears and I don’t need elks even I like elks just make cool horses ffs @@abbassnazari9358
The driver is a Tzar guard so it fits with Kataryn too
@@klavicus2276believe it or not, Kislev isn’t just bears and ice. Most of their cavalry ride horses, the nation is inspired by eastern european cultures, especially cossacks. They also famously have a unit based on the polish winged hussars. If anything, there’s not currently enough horses in Kislev’s roster
Honestly really cool update I really feel now that this dlc is worth it’s price, hopefully they can release each upcoming dlc with this much content to start with- massive kislev fan haha
finally! i can test these units on my campaigns later.
I was literally waiting for you to release your Video on this content, I was saving myself for you and only you xD
Thanks for the coverage
Looks great, I'm looking forward to trying everything out o7
Well needed update fersure. Going to be a good weekend.
i already have the dlc but my favorite addition is saytang, finally we get a construct hero for cathay. Even though i have a shit load of mods for the game these will still make a massive impact on how the ai will play. Plus yes i think its now worth getting this dlc.
Very nice additions, however a bit sad that there are no changes to mechanics (cult system for example).
Well i'm looking forwards to Cathay. And that Frost Wyrm is growing on me. Looks like a grounded Cathayan dragon.
The axe head added to the pitch fork is actually so Kislev it’s funny
I do hope we get all of Thrones of Decays units off the bat instead of having to wait for the extra units later
They said that this is how they will do the DLCs from now on, with the new lords and heros and such
They have already said they will.
The future style for these 3 way Lord packs will be per race
1 LL
1 LH
1 Lord
1 Hero
5 units
3 RoR
Don't worry. Now they can just fill most of the slots woth reskinned beastmen for all chaos gods.
Eyy sweet@@the_dropbear4392
@@the_dropbear4392 what’s RoR?
That Frost Wyrm looks absolutely sick
wow the clipping on the wings of the celestial lion is pretty egregious
Can you do an add on to this video with all the previous units added with the SOC dlc and their new updates?
With how the lore of hags forbidden ferns spells visuals hopefully we are once step closer to finally getting the lore of athel loren
You forgot the overcast effect for the spells! (which was announced to give buffs instead of hexes)
I like the additions of Kislev specially. It avoids to fall into the flanderization of a "bear army" it was so dangeriously gettin close
This new Kislev things are great. For me they are the must have for PvP (almost always get the dogs, Grandma, sometimes the Elemental).
I wish they could focus more on making cool animations for older factions like they did with the new factions, like cathay has really cool animations
The value proposition for the Shadows of Change certainly seems a lot better now.
Are the new Tzeentch Lord and Exalted Hero available as Path to Glory options for Warriors of Chaos, especially Vilitch?
I can def buy the DLC now when they are adding these things to the DLC! On a sale ofcourse ;)
Moon Bird has a really nice aesthetic.
Nearby friendly enemies is the official term for a skaven coworker.
I think the new spells are inverted when overcasting. Like a hex becomes a buff
I have been REALLY enjoying Cathay.
Haven't played too much Kislev.
Frost wyrms head. My god it looks so good
Now they really need new things for the warhammer 1 factions mainly vampire counts empire and dwarfs
Katarin on a frost wyrm looks badass!
Zerk, you're on fire with these unit descriptions. I was like "wtf Katarin in that chair" and the PTSD comment was also bubblin' in my brain lmaooo
The Frost Wyrm look like it was pulling up strait off Monster Hunter
Katarin's sled is WTF tier of strong. You can charge it into the entire enemy infantry line, once they are locked in melee, from the side and it just won't stop. It's like bowling with a tank.
Kislev has become one of my fav factions especially Katarina
with that moon bird, now i’m fully convinced that moon empress is a rogue tzeentch demon(according to Chinese mythology the moon empress’s name suppose to be Chang’E which is literally change)
The “book of secrets” on the exalted hero of Tzeentch doesn’t actually cast all three spells at once - it casts one of them at random. Very Tzeentchy!
I was afraid the Changebringers would be a meh unit like the Flaming Chariot and would basically proved to be useless.
In case anyone is wondering why I thought that, it's because I thought they would have typically the same kind of change compared to their base unit, the regular Flamers, as the Flaming Chariot (base unit being Exalted Flamer), hence:
- flying (which often means being hard-focused by the AI especially as the flying version is worth more value, but provides liberty of movement)
- speed (to be tested, Changebringers may have more speed than regular Flamers, but as it's a unit that will often gain from staying in the ground in order to attack infantry, will it have more speed on the ground as well?)
- more health (and hence more barrier)
- more charge bonus
BUT also several maluses/downgrades:
- as aforementioned, being a flying missile units with low range and more value means being focused by flying and missile AI units.
- less ammunition (Flaming Chariot as a meager 9 compared to the 15 of the Exalted Flamer)
- less range (Flaming Chariot fall to 90 compared to the 150 of the Exalted Flamer)
I was also expecting the Changebringers to have an extra nasty downgrade compared to regular flamers in having less entities. I seriously expected them to have 9 instead of 12, so I'm very happy it's not the case.
It makes sense that they went this way and really made them just flying Flamers, rather than give them the Flaming Chariot treatment, as the Flying Chariot doesn't need as much range as it really is advantageous for it to stand right above its target anyway, and due to its preferred type of target (single entity units) and its mobility, it's quite perfect for its job any way and would maybe a bit overpowered if it didn't get it's downgrades. The Changebringers however keep multiple entities units as their target of choice and therefore gain less advantage from being flyers as they will have to land anyway to get their shots right and gain much less from their newfound mobility thant the Flaming Chariot.
Note that however, they can't fire while moving, unlike the Flaming Chariot.
In conclusion, I was disappointed at the new regular units for Tzeentch (Lord and Hero are very good though), because Centaures are meh, niche, and will work only in early/mid game; and Changebringers would likely (due to the receiving at priori the same treatment than the Burning Chariot) a downgrade rather than a upgrade.
Anyone else notice the messed up texture on the Exalted hero's chest? Its on the left side behind his halberd and you can see it when he turns. I hope that isn't part of this patch or it'll never get fixed.
Katarin always talked about "her porpoise", who knew it was actually a cathayan dragon but frozen. Also she doesn't slide down from the chair cause her butt is frozen to it.
Have you ever seen someone get their tong stuck on vary cold ice ? That is how she stays in the chair on the ice Drake.
Is it enough? I think it is indeed enough.
I see honest effort and high quality in some of those units. Especially the monsters (obviously peasants and crossbowmen aren't high effort) and chaos units (the 3headed guy looks amazing).
I like that Satan's skirt go flappy when she jumps :)
How do you recruit the new legendary heroes in the campaing?
Looks like a solid addition. As a lifelong table top Warhammer player, the prices of Total War DLC's always seemed fair to me, even with the price hike. I am desensitized to paying $50+ for a single model I still have to assemble and paint myself. $25 for a slew of ready-to go models/units that looks amazing and add to an already rich and complex game is fine by me.
Is a "Friendly Enemy" what happens when you're under siege and a faction that's hostile (but not at war) with you intervenes for a temporary teamup?
as in when your city is besieged, the besieged army gets besieged by a 3th party with whom you where already at war?
Can sure as heck happen
1:31 dont forget that silence also means you cant cast spells. If you keep her on top of another lord/hero, they cant use magic
ima play kislev mow and compare it to the update tomorow
Gonna buy the dlc with these additions
You didn't mention the new mount options besides Katarin's.
I love that Korg plays warhammer 3 too
00:13 - Kislev
04:33 - Grand Cathay
08:04 - Tzeentch
I hope they work finally on an empire / dawi update.
They seem to be lacking to answer the unites they are up to.
0:30 Is the Druzinha Twirling a moustache that he does not have? lol
Is there a point to using the Boyar now? Seems like the Druzhina is just so much more useful!
Kislev is what I care for I’d say the ice queens mounts make it mostly worth while
Good to see theyre listening. But im just gonna take a break from TWW3 till the next Khorne DLC. Next one is nurgle is it? It would be really refreshing returning to the game by then.
Hell yeah, brother.
Just happy for the sled.
With the addition of the Frost Wyrm to Kislev’s roster, the old Frost Wyrm has suddenly remembered that it is in fact, and always has been called, a “Chaos Frost Dragon.” The ways of chaos are fickle indeed.
Can't wait to buy it on sale in a year, looks great but CA DLCs have always been too expensive for me to buy at full price.
I loved that the zangors were imparted to the beastmen roster which made me wish they would have done the same with the minotaurs of khorne. I won't some khornate beastie bois that can rampage with my best beastie boi taurox!
These units are so good!
2:30 "Kislev has no elite anti large infantry". Ice guard with glaives: "Am I a joke to you?"
I'm not a grumpy old-guard or anything, and I love a lot of the higher fantasy ice magic units Kislev has, giving it a more pronounced theme that isn't just "empire but extra polish". But the new golden hero unit for Kislev looks like it'd be an elite hero among Age of Sigmar Thunder Warriors, or an elite hero unit for Tzeench if the blue was fire instead of ice. It's cool but jarring.
The Gate Master looks like Wu from Grimm
Whats up with those hilarious looking shoulder armor?
It's certainly enough to get me to buy it. On sale.
I wonder how much those Kislev Warriors are gonna be. My guess would be probably around 500 to 525 gold, since Empire Halberdiers are 550 and have marginally better stats.
Moon bird! I love him 😍
