Adam was hosting a quiz night many years ago at my local pub and our team name was “the moops “ after the Bubble boy episode of Seinfeld (if you don’t know it you won’t get the next bit) so every time he would mention our team name we would yell “it’s the moors you idiot “. He didn’t get it either so me and another team member went up to him during a break to explain it to him and yes he was the nicest guy.
This show is such a gem & Adam had some great features. Frank Woodly's Chinese master had me in stitches for weeks

Yep, Tom Gleisner on the buzzer. He's also an executive producer. This show was done by the same team that later did Have You Been Paying Attention? Ed Kavalee was a regular on the support cast for Thank God You're Here, it's really where he got his start in television

Several years ago, ten plus idk, I was lucky enough to discover a weekly event Adam was holding leading up to the comedy festival where Adam hosted and othe comedians and him would come and try out their material. Although it was public you did get to see a bit of behind the scenes so to speak. And he was just an honest to god nice guy. Strikingly nice.

Well, as good as Adam is, he was giving them nothing to work with, his contributions were funny yes but basically silly.....the other guys had nowhere to go so reverted to the script.....but the 'features' bit was genius!

adam hills i find is quite bad at improv, awesome in other shows but always seems to fall down when he is put on the spot. except for this one, he ended up doing ok.
If you knew him like I do then you’d have seen that the reason this flagged was not cos the extras didn’t show but because Hills didn’t react with what they said/did. it was he who let them down cos … he can’t do improv, he can barely do any comedy and he likely paid someone for the heads up on the scenario and then scripted his responses. It’s usually a fun show, but not this time.
Nice guy? See if you can catch the “down under” last leg special he did where he attempts to emasculate his colleagues, who were I think genuinely aggrieved. He referred to Uluṟu as eyres rock even though mostly only right wing Qld’ers do that now, especially publicly on television. From memory the trip was mostly in the Northern Territory and then to his place in NSW, yet he didn’t interact with First Nations people other than a heavy metal group, no one has ever heard of, who actually racially shamed themselves by calling themselves “half-caste”. You can’t be expected to know how fake that was, but it was tremendously so - they can’t have been local, probably flown in from Sydney. Yet the outback is literally swarming with First Nations bands of every genre along with great back storys.
But hills was only interested in click bait stuff that relates to him and his vibe and doesn’t doesn’t see consequences. That’s how sometimes he jumps on the wrong bandwagon and has to backtrack. He is a narcissist. He had a show that was a massive flop which revolved around him - like a chat thing. He chose to put Hanna Gatsby in a reserved/remote spot on stage and very occasionally, spasmodically refer to her for a quip. It must of been very demeaning to Gatsby to be treated thus, like jester to a prince …. But I’m not sure her subsequent world-wide success dented his ego.
I wish that he could stay permanently in the UK, like Rolfe Harris and Neighbours and he be denied re- entry cos In the entertainment industry, atm, he is the worst Australian.
