"Start with a cold beer", he says - HAHAHAHA!!! EXACTLY!!!! Oh, I almost forgot . . . I got the stickers and there is now one on my quad - whooohooo! Taco & I are going camping/quadding this coming week and I'll be showin' that puppy off in a video. The note you sent with the stickers was funny. I read it to Taco & he cracked up.
Hey Q! All chores start with the cold beer ! haha Hey glad you got the stickers ! I was wondering if they made it to ya haha yeah I thought you'd have a laugh at that, keep the god videos coming, looking forward to a camping video !
Put Vaseline around the seal on the lid cover and where the filter gasket slides into the intake. And be liberal with the Vaseline. Clean the inside of the box too. Great video from a grizzly in nova scotia!
Thanks for the video. About to undertake my first time oil change and air filter change and this video will come in handy. I have a Kodiak but I'm thinking it's a similar process.
Nice video. A good way to keep the filter secure is stuff a rag between the end of the filter and the airbox housing to keep it pressed firmly in place.
Good video, you did just fine as far as I can see with the air filter instructional video. You remind me so much of a guy that I use to work and fish with here in North Texas back in the 80"s.
Good video bud! When I purchased my 2018 and got some maintenance items with it but I totally forgot to pick up and extra air filter. I'll remedy that today. Thanks!
Hey buddy, great instructional video, even though I don’t have a Grizzly, a lot of the procedure is the same for the brute force. Good tips an tricks you offer man! I like that Ipone spray on filter oil! Ipone makes pretty good products an I didn’t know they had that.. I’m gonna look into that for my next filter cleaning which is soon anyways lol! I typically use air filter oil from the bottle an try to spread it around evenly but Is sometimes hard to accomplish lol... anyways buddy great vid! An good man with starting off at step one there at the first 🍺! Take care an will see you on the next one! Cheers 🍻
Don’t squeeze out your filter like that. You will get separation in glued seam eventually. Just use your cleaner of choice and use the hose under normal pressure without a hose nozzle. I clean mine with the hose from the insides of the dirt falls to the outer surface. Also just a quick hit. Spray the filter oil on the inside of the filter as well. Then when you are kneading it in with your fingers, you get better coverage. If there is any excess it is fine to run through the intake. Good luck
haha just watchin some of the oldys just got my big bear 350 4x4 back from the shop fresh top end rebuildn and full service runs mint now ready for the season and some fishing. do yo ever get out fishing some of the lakes around ther?
Hey !! thats awesome man ! I love the old big bears ! Solid machines ! I'm editing a video now that I go out fishing. I dont catch shit haha but we have a trail lunch and stuff. lol
Yo bro, VERY WELL instructional video. I have a GriZ 700FI AnywayZ I’ve always rode dirt bikes & this is my 1st 4W man. Question: should I spend the extra $$ on one of those K&N air filters or does it make a difference….?! Also I have a seat on the back & never any riders (very rare AnywayZ) my question is what type of box do ya have on the back of yours….?! It’s sick man snd exactly what I need instead of tht seat. And again Thx bub….!!!
Hey man ! thanks ! and I grew up riding Dirt bikes also ! I have a Big Dirt bike now (Honda Africa Twin, 1000cc dual sport haha) But yeah I had K&N on my old Grizzly and I didnt get any power gain from it, just better throttle response. If I was to get an after market air filter now I would probably go with the UNI filter, they supposedly keep more debris out but still give decent gains. My rear storage box is an OEM Yamaha box, there are two sizes ad mine is the smaller of the two. if I had my time over again, I'd probably get the bigger one, but it wasn't available when I bought mine. Hope that helps ya ! thanks for watching !
Hey ! We'll I don't mess with different oils to be honest, I just use what the owner manual says, Yamalube. Some guys like the Synthetic's and Ams oil, but I don't really mess with it. Glad you liked the video and thanks for the comment !
Buy some uni filter sheet foam and cut a somewhat square piece to double the thickness and width of the donut where it seals. Keeps dust out of the engine, a common problem with our machines.
Have you had any issues with dust getting by your filter? A bnb lot of guys do and I debating buying the aftermarket filter set up myself. Still a foam filter.
Hey buddy ! No I haven't had any issue as of yet with dust, I always keep an eye out on that when I clean my filter, Do people use a mesh over the filter or? I've seen people do modifications to their air box...
@@Maritimer I've seen I think 2 different things people have done. I just noticed dust inside mine so I ordered the EHS racing air box for mine. They modified the stock box to not allow the one vent to not blow air back in. They also added a clamp on filter instead if one that just sits in there. Once I get it installed I wont have to worry about the bad airbox design anymore. A lot of people are swapping the box out for this one as well.
@@Maritimer I'm not getting the tuner for mine but it does appear that the 708's run hotter then the 686's. I guess if it were me and you dont have any issues that would call for the tuner, I'd leave it. I prefer stock stuff but the Airbox issues is a problem for me. Let me know what you end up doing.
Oh eyah i'll make a video of it - and the EHS tuner just makes the bike run less lean, which makes it run cooler, so it's not like a performance programmer or anything, it just cools the bike down bit.
not sure, I thought most bikes use the foam filters as stock, I could be wrong though..... maybe it's because if it gets wet it's faster drying than paper, also you can clean and reuse it.... I'm not sure, good question though.

Thanks for the video. About to undertake my first time oil change and air filter change and this video will come in handy. I have a Kodiak but I'm thinking it's a similar process.
Hey ! thanks man ! oh yeah it should be basically the same thing, just take your time and you'll be fine. thanks for watching ! Cheers.
Nice video. A good way to keep the filter secure is stuff a rag between the end of the filter and the airbox housing to keep it pressed firmly in place.
thats a good idea !! it fits fairly tight but could be better, I like the older Grizzly style better. I may try your idea though !
Good video, you did just fine as far as I can see with the air filter instructional video. You remind me so much of a guy that I use to work and fish with here in North Texas back in the 80"s.
well your fishing buddy sounds like a Great guy !!! haha thanks ! glad you liked the video, I appreciate the support !

Always a good idea to have one clean and ready to go, I think it was only about $25 for a new stock filter so... its worth it in my mind.
I pick up my grizzly eps se this week can’t wait
Enjoy it man !

Hey ! thanks for the tips, the squeezing of the filter make sense, thanks for that !
I like to also wipe out the air box with an oily rag.
Hey ! yeah thats a good tip, I don't do it but I can see how that would help catch the dust. thanks !
My 2016 is the same thing as yours. Starting from 2016 and up its a 708cc. Keep up the good work
yup and now the 2019 Grizzly they went back to the 686cc motor...... it may be a little less power but that motor is bulletproof.
yeah i herd that . i think it will have more torque tho...
Kind of surprised you didn't clean out the air box also that stuff blows around sometimes wouldn't you say
Yeah it's a good idea to give the inside of the box a wipe if there is dirt inside. thanks for watching Jerry !

Is that plywood for sale? :)
hahahaha Nope, it's worth more than money right now lol
Thank you, very helpful
thank you, glad it can help !
Thanks for sharing. Picking up my first Grizz 700 2017 sunday. How many times or after how many km do you clean it?
Depends on how dusty of riding i've been doing. usually a few times a riding season.
@@Maritimer Thanks👍
Nice instructions. What engine oil do you use on your Grizzly out in the maritimes? Do you use the Yamalube cold weather oil kit Yamaha sells?

noted ! do you have a video you could post of someone doing this? or tutorial. thanks !!
I have pics, very simple to do.
I do post pics etc on the FB 2016-2018 Yamaha Grizzly site.
I didn't know there was a site for 2016-2018 Grizzlies, I'll look for it. thank you !
Vaseline put on thick works good too. It will plump up the foam too
Keep up the good work man

Where did you buy the air filter oil?
Hey man ! I just picked it up at my local dealer.
@@Maritimer I'm still using K&N air filter spray oil for now, but gonna need more. What dealer did you get it from?
great video
thanks !!
Umm Hmm Prioraties, Bam Done ! Easy Peasy Thanks Bud ! ATB Ter God Bless
haha Thank you !!! gotta have priorities ! lol
What does the oil do?
The oil on the air filter? the oil catches small dust particles before it can get into your engine.
@@Maritimer ah i see ok thx👍
why didn't they just use a regular paper filter -_-

good

Hey you need a wood stove and fridge. LoL
lol I've heard that a few times ! haha I do !
Omg I know you !!!!!
I know you too !!! haha
Beer will do that . I mean... It will give you fat fingers .
hahahaha You could be onto something ! lol
Send me your stickers so I can put it on my ATV.
