Guys it never was religion they live for the true living Jesus Christ our lord and savior. that’s why they have that peace guys ,real talk I use say religion to until I tried Jesus for myself and decided to repent, it’s very real guys ,trust me Christian is relationship with Christ that’s all ,God doesn’t like religion , the only way to the father is by his son Jesus Christ. And he died over 2019 years ago for me n all people in the world. it’s all choice guys.

I then had a dream of Jesus coming before God and he spoke of the Tabernacle in perfect context, "A word I didn't know existed.", and what I felt from Jesus when I held him was unlike anything I've ever felt before - A lifetime of Love every second - It brought me to sobbing and it changed my life, forever.
I've had Many experiences since, "Several witnessed", one was seeing a bright orb of light pass across my face in the dark, hours before a major surgery the second I gave up in my heart.
Know that God and Jesus ARE real and that they Love us deeply. Let go of your hatred and Imagine yourself holding the people who've hurt you. Tell them you Love them.
Always have hope, I believe that prayer, following God's laws & Love is the answer, and through that, Truly becoming humble, merciful, welcoming, giving, gentle, respectful, compassionate, patient, kind and forgiving, To All.
This song makes me cry every time. There was a time about 2 years ago when I was having a lot of doubt and just felt really cynical but I kept praying for God to reveal himself to me and give me faith. And although I still go through seasons of disbelief I think the beautiful thing is he is still waiting there for us to return when we come back to Him.

This morning I looked up Relient K as I hadnt listened to anything other than Mhhmm for years tbh. As Im driving into work, I park and Im taken by this very song. The view I see everyday now is something else, a sunrise between the now dormant trees, yet green grass growing around them in the middle of december. I sit in awe for a minute and decide to take a picture of it. 5 minutes later I get a message from my mom that my cousins husband was found a transplant and will have surgery today. We have been praying for them for weeks now. I immediately message my cousin and let her know they are in our prayers and I'm compelled to share with the very song I was listening to. I know she doesnt have a spiritual background but Ive seen her post about God on social media and felt it might give them some hope. I then notice her profile picture is a scene. A dark and lonely, moonlit, dirt path, with the half covered moon between some dormant or dead trees and dead grass all around. Im almost beside myself at this point. Realizing that just minutes earlier I had captured the exact opposite. I felt the need even more to reach out and share the hope that there is in our God. Im praying she and her family can see how truly wonderous He is.
I've be far from the cross for so long and this song is quickly pulling me back in and I couldn't be happier.

I have loved relient k since "'Marilyn Manson ate my gf." and "hoopes I did it again." lol so long ago... they have definitely changed from mxpx inspired punk to alternative punk to what they have become now... and you know what I love it all. The happy punk teenagers the serious life meaning lyrics from mmhm and two lefts don't make a right to their new album "air for free." And they are seriously the sweetest guys ever. Matt hoopes snuck me into a show once Bc they wouldn't let me in and got me front row cause he saw what a huge fan I was and then they met with me after. Being someone whose been a fan for nearly 14 years I think I will always love this group even when they change.

One of my friends that I met in 2019 on a canoe trip died 3 days ago, but knowing that we both believe in God gives me hope. I'm so glad that he's on the Sea of Glass before the throne, and I can't wait to sing my God's praise by his side.

Maybe I'm projecting, but I feel like you and I have been on a similar religious timeline for awhile, Matt. When Forget and Not Slow Down came out, I was in a lot of personal turmoil but I was staying strong in my Christian upbringing. I played that album constantly, particularly Therapy. By the time Collapsible Lung came out, I wasn't at as low of a point, but I'd been worn down. I'd stopped praying, and at that point I'd say I was more agnostic than anything. Meanwhile, Collapsible Lung only referenced the "Holy Ghost" once, hoping you "hadn't heard the last words". Recently I've started looking around at churches again. I believe that I believe enough...I think for God any amount of belief is enough. I do hope He reaches out if he wants me back.
I feel this a lot. I wouldn't say I completely walked away from God, but I definitely went through a period of depression where I sort of pushed God into the sidelines of my life, and I'm listening to this now as I'm realizing my need for him and for the first time really believing that even when I screw up and let him down, he is holding me up. In the words of Matt T., he says "I miss you son, come home."
I think you guys can stop being so hard on yourselves! I believe God does love you SOOO much! I think we can show his love by volunteering more and giving more to others. It is just about loving people and being filled with love. Constantly being filled and constantly pouring out! I know I sometimes feel guilty when some of my more religious family acts like I'm the black sheep/prodigal. It's hard! I feel what you guys are saying! Let's not feel guilty but feel love, love God BY loving others. I love you.

This song resonates with something in me so much! I love how God gives each of us the ability to create and then use that to cry out with what's going on inside of us, and then I'm amazed at how so many of us are having the same thoughts and feelings of others, there are others that get us and how we are feeling and what we are experiencing. That's how I see so much of your music, I connect with so many of your songs alot. And I think it makes alot of us realize, no, we are not crazy! Thank you for that, so much!

If a band is labeled Christian they have a completele right to write songs like this, even if they weren't A christian band, it's their band so they have the right to do WHATEVER THEY WANT!! and I love this music along with tons of other people. Any Christian complaining about this being "too Christian" really needs to take a look at their line of logic because that implies that you may want to hinder Gods truth. If it is borderline "cliche" to have lyrical content speaking about God then it should be cliche to have lyrics about love. Any Christian who believes that God is love should agree imo. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a song declaring what you believe.

I teared up when they played this one at Furnace Fest last night. I don’t believe in God (and i haven’t got a long time), but songs like this make me wish that I did.
I finally listened to this album and this song is really helping me right now. I'm so thankful.
It's good to hear a bit of forget and not slow down sneak back into your sound.

I also love “so I hate consequences” by RK because the ending is kinda unexpected when you figure out that he’s actually singing to God.

Is this really Matt singing?
Are you afraid that he says God? Are you sure it's not your problem and not theirs?... Most mainstream rap is about the same thing. Not to mention half of them talk about God, with no understanding. But because RK says it now they aren't cool? If you believe in something it shouldn't be taboo to say. Unique? No one is unique when it comes to music. It's all been said and done before. And as much as art deserves to be one of a kind saying God doesn't give it less creditability or beauty. As maturity grows, not being afraid of the bold truth seems to follow. Whats the point of hiding? Thats like never calling your wife honey because others do it. That makes no sense. She is your honey bottom line. Doesn't matter if its cheesy. It just is. Besides I think that calling Gods name cheesy is a dangerous road to walk anyway, and speaks of some sort of fear in your own life. I have followed Relient K since I was 10 years old (being 25 now) and as they matured so did I. Matt T has made mistakes, big ones, ones I didn't expect him too. But I have made bigger ones in my own life. Life isn't about that though. None of us have it figured out, its a journey. The longer I'm on this planet, the more it seems that disguising the truth is foolish. Maybe thats how they feel too. Besides if you don't like it, oh well, everything isn't for everyone. I happen to think this song is beautiful, and I will always support this band. It's not often people are committed to what they do like these guys. There is something to be said for that. They have had a huge impact on my life, the least I can do is defend them here.
If people are surprised Relient K mentioned God, then they haven't caught the undercurrent of Christian spirituality that underlies most of their songs, even and especially Collapsible Lung.

Man, what happened to these guys? They really hit their peak with Mmhmm, The Birds and the Bee Sides, Forget and Not Slow Down was alright, but this utterly blows. Wow. RIP Relient K.
