@@roforroid In Australia, most states allow a "tolerance" of 6 kph (urban) or 9 kph (motorway) over the posted limit. So the OP was probably within that tolerance, which is why the cop ignored him.

But I find it hard to imagine a cop would take your word for it... Especially since they haven't seen the dashcam footage yet, nor does it seem they intend to obtain it at all

they need 10 times as many police. We get 20+ minutes every week of the idiots, and 8-10 minutes every month or 2 of any getting caught. Shows the glaring disparity!

You should consider installing one in your vehicle as it can save you the headache, time and money in an accident that's not your fault but the other party "claims" it is.
This is especially true of "insurance job" accidents, where they will slam their brakes in front of you for no reason and you ram their arse, leading to you being at fault.
Decent dashcams aren't that expensive nowadays due to more and more people buying them, driving the prices down as they used to be a niche and quite expensive.

Could also be a passenger watching it on the phone that's connected to Bluetooth. I've done that plenty with kids and Bluey, forgetting the audio will be over Bluetooth until it's too late because we're already driving and they're already watching. Just easier to let it play out the stereo by that point.

My favorites - because it's so much more cathartic than watching everyone get away with their bullshit in the regular vids.

I've done that... About 110 in a 100 zone, down a hill. Saw the left indicator go on on the HWP car, so I found a shady spot with plenty of room and pulled over. The cop waited patiently to do a safe U-turn, eventually sticking the red and blue lights on.... And then this ute comes down the same hill I did, but going about 140, with old mate holding his phone to his ear. Cop chucked the U-turn, and took off after that guy instead 😂
Pretty good chance they'll just give you a warning if you do that, as long as you weren't going crazy fast of course.
I once pulled myself over like that and the cop just asked me what the hell I was doing stopped on the side of the road!? Lol.

Without a dedicated road patrol most infractions will go unnoticed unless they are serious and caught on camera or result in an accident.

I smile when I see the cops catch a red light runner, however, that segment at the 10:00 minute mark horrified me. The cop was worse than the guy he chased. He came around a car making a legal turn, before turning on his warning lights. He followed that up by crossing unbroken lines to speed down the wrong side of the road through a pedestrian crossing.
100%. Car coming the other way the cop nearly ran into would have had a heart attack.
Glad it's not just me thinking this - that cop had some of the worst driving in this compilation. Reckless.

Yeah this was silly, the car behind DC didn't see the police car and almost didn't let them through (ok, it came from the wrong lane, probably happens to most people in that case), but DC should see flashing lights and fails to pull off the road or even slow down, seems genuinely surprised, like he was lagging.

A lot of these cam cars aren’t in the vacant left lane. What happened to keep left unless overtaking?
Keep left unless overtaking doesn't legally mean what the words imply. It just means you can't be in the right lane unless overtaking. If there's 4 lanes, you can be in 1, 2 or 3. If there's 3 lanes, it means you can be in 1 or 2. If there's 2 lanes, you can only be in the left lane.... If there's 1 lane, and those signs are up, someone's done messed up the signs.
Only applies if the speed limit is over 80km/h.

Don't know where you are but in NSW it's *On a road where there's a 'Keep left unless overtaking' sign or a speed limit of more than 80km/h*
Thanks for showing me the road rules guys - but a valid reason for keeping to the left?? Ah yes, you need to turn off to the right in 30km - of course. It’s good practise and courtesy to keep left and stops upsetting maniacs travelling way over the limit causing them to undertake you. But hey, as an Australian it’s your right to keep right up to 79km so why not…

Left lane prior to the intersection is left turn only.
They weren't overtaking lanes. They were short added lanes to help facilitate safe flow of traffic for turning vehicles.
The amount of drivers that just stay in the middle lane for no reason though...
