  • From Gen 1 to Gen 9, Kanto to Paldea, and Pokemon Red and Blue to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, we've gotten over 1000 new pokemon! Out of all of these pokemon, a majority of them are based on some sort of animal or multiple animals. Despite this, there are still plenty of real life animals that haven't been used as inspiration for new pokemon yet. Let's take a look at the top ten animals that pokemon fans in the pokemon community want to see become pokemon (and maybe even a personal choice of my own in there).
    We'll be taking a look at some of the coolest, cutest and weirdest animals out there and transforming them into pokemon that you could imagine seeing right on your nintendo switch! Will these new pokemon be cute, cool, or popular among pokemon fans? We'll be exploring them all to create unique fakemon that wouldn't be surprising to see in a fakemon pokedex. I would love to see these pokemon ideas (at least the animals that inspired them) be in new pokemon games someday. Maybe we could even see these animal pokemon as early as Pokemon Legends ZA, if we get a new evolution form like Obstagoon from Pokemon Sword and Shield?
    Let's go through this fakemon montage / pokemon montage to see some brand new fakemon. I'll be drawing pokemon for this compilation top 10 video, counting down to what might be the most hyped animal to become a pokemon. I hope you'll like these pokemon drawings! What animals do you want to see made into pokemon?

    All of these would be sick, although I will clarify one thing you got wrong:
    Mantis Shrimp punch with the *acceleration* of a bullet, not the force of one. They can hit incredibly hard, enough to shatter chitin and glass, but it’s nowhere near the power that even low-caliber bullets can have. It is a common misconception, but one I’d like to clarify.
    Of course, a Pokémon based on a mantis shrimp would absolutely hit with the force of a bullet, otherwise it just wouldn’t feel Pokémon enough.

    • @Ryodraco
      @Ryodraco Před měsícem +4

      Indeed, we have to remember that for their size bullets have a lot of mass/density. This is almost as important as their speed when it comes to the damage they can do.

    Landorus, despite Bulbapedia's speculation is quite clearly a tiger primarily, being based on the White Tiger of the West. That makes the jaguar the only big cat without a Pokemon, because cheetahs are not classified as big cats since they can't roar.
    Binturong, however, is a 100% yes from me. Love those guys!

    • @BJGvideos
      @BJGvideos Před měsícem

      Wait so you need to roar to be considered a big cat? I would think the qualifiers would be
      1. Big
      2. Cat

    • @testerwulf3357
      @testerwulf3357 Před měsícem

      Nothing about landorus points to it being primarily being a tiger..it’s loosely based on the white tiger of the west but physically it doesn’t look like a tiger! 😅 It also might be based on aztec gods that were jaguars.
      Imo it’s just not physically close enough to either to count! It’s more of a generic big cat that draws inspiration from a few. Incineroar is a better tiger pokemon, very clearly a tiger

      @maravreloaded Před měsícem +1

      That's why I say we need a south american region.
      We would get a jaguar and even maybe a puma.
      You could get a starter line from Ocelot to Jaguarundi to Jaguar.
      And other fact those are the most aquatic big cats.
      So there you have a water starter.

      @@testerwulf3357the therian forms are based on the White Tiger of the West, the Dragon of the East and the last one that I don't remember. It just would be odd for Landorus to suddenly just not be a tiger when the others follow that same beast convention

      @Choco_paz Před měsícem +4

      @@BJGvideosno you do need to roar. Cheetahs meow like a common house cat. All big cats are classed under Panthera while small cats belong to Felines. The problem tho is that there are several other felines that meow and kinda go in-between a meow and a roar like cougars

    Ideas for some of them:
    - The *Tardigrade* could be one of the bulkiest pokemon out there, like Blissey's HP combined with Shuckles' both defenses with "THICK FAT"
    - The *Tasmanian Devil* can be either a fast Glass Canon (based on Taz from Looney Toones) or a slow but bulky attacker
    - The *Manatee* can be either a regional form of Dewgong or something similar just being bigger, heavier, bulkier and a Rock type
    - The *Mantis Shrimp* can be either a Glass Canon or a slow but very bulky attacker
    - The *Hummingbird* can be an incredible fast sweeper
    - The *Opussum* can either have the ability "Immunity", "Toxic Boost" or "Poison Heal" or a combo between the last two or their own ability based on how they play dead

    I once thought up a concept for an opossum as well, though it was a Psychic and Dark type. I called it Phopossom, the Phony Pokemon. It lays on the side of paths, pretending to be injured to attract the attention of people passing by, but when they get close to investigate, Phopossom unleashes a psychic power that puts the person to sleep, giving it an opportunity to scout their bags for food or anything else before running off.

    Honey Badger - Now some may think these animals are cute and maybe they are i dunno but from what i hear they CAN get vicious and up in your face if yer not careful. For this pokemon id give it the Normal/Fighting type.
    Electric Eel - Obviously a water electric type but one i would not mind seeing as a pokemon someday.
    StoneFish - A water/Poison type
    Poison Dart frog - for this one id say Poison or Poison/Normal
    Cane Toad - Pure Poison
    Hyena - Dark or Dark/Normal
    Gorilla - yeah i know we have a few different monkey pokemon already but for me yeah I want a Gorilla pokemon. I dunno how many evos it would have but for the Males they would have a silverback look on their character sprites. Pure Fighting type

      Eelektross is at least part electric eel (though it's definitely got quite a bit of lamprey in it). Croagunk is pretty poison-dart-frog-esque, and rillaboom is definitely based on a gorilla.
      And mightyena is technically based on a hyena, but there still hasn't been a pokémon based on a spotted hyena, so there's certainly room for one.

    Some I've been thinking on:
    -I know Kyogre exists but I'd love a true orca pokemon. I made one that was mono-Water but akin to Combee had a final form that was female only that was Water/Fairy to tie in with how orcas are highly matriarchal animals and Fairy being kind of our "moon" type and the moon's connection with the sea, femininity, and other things (plus it's the type that completely counters Dragons, so perfect for an apex predator), but other obvious combos like Dark, Fighting, Steel, and Ice could also work.
    -Similarly I'd love a true tiger pokemon (we do have Raikou, T!Landorus, and Incineroar but I want something you like at and go *oh that's a TIGER*). One I drew up in the past was a white tiger that was Ice/Fairy and only had the Fairy typing since it was part of a duo with a Dragon/Fairy type (they were contrasting psuedo-legends akin to Metagross and Salamence but based on the Chinese constellations), so hypothetically the Fairy could also be interchangeable. Fighting is obvious, we already have too many Dark type cats, Psychic or just keep Fairy maybe since tigers have antiseptic saliva and in Chinese mythos some tigers could also exorcise/ward against evil spirits from what I've read, and I'd love to see someone play into that (in general we need more Psychic and Fairy cats when you look into how perfect they are for that type between healing/therapeutic qualities and keen senses).
    -I was doing a bit of research into obscure dogs and found out about this endangered landrace livestock guardian called the bankhar (you may look it up and read more about it if you want but be forewarned that the reasons behind it being endangered are extremely depressing, as in EXTREMELY depressing), and from its description in legends you'd swear it actually were a pokemon. To sum up descended from a colossal dog, seen as having a human's soul, able to see into other realms, used as a companion in war, etc., so went with Psychic/Fighting.
    -A sailfish or other kinds of billfish would be lovely. Maybe a Water/Fire or Water/Steel type to combine the fastest fish with the concept of a racing car.
    -Once had a fun idea for a literal rosefinch, Grass/Flying, females were wild roses and had higher stats but males while having lower stats were more colorful and had more forms based on flashier variants of domesticated roses.
    -Also a fun idea I had once, a Bug/Electric wasp that is, like Porygon, a digital pokemon, or rather, was created to be a symbiotic partner to Porygon by defending it from malware. Since wasps are territorial, have paralyzing venom, and after the initial sting can mark an enemy of the hive with a pheromone to alert the rest of danger, it acts as an ideal antivirus and basically neutralizes viruses that could negatively affect Porygon or Porygon-2 or even the Rotom in your phone or laptop.
    -Honestly all my life I wanted to see a Poison/Steel rat pokemon that starts off using junk as tools (like a classic thimble for a helmet, a napkin for a cape, and a straightened-out paperclip for a sword) but then evolves into an actual knight.
    -Also something I wanted all my life, Normal/Ghost bigfoot pokemon

    I have always envisoned a Cheetah Pokemon with a low attack and special attack stat, which is kinda bulky and very fast, but it has the ability Drawback, which lowers it speed with 1 stage after each attack/turn, but raising its attack stats by 2, since Cheetah's aren't know for their endurance.
    So basically
    65 attack and 60 special attack
    100 defense and 110 special defense
    145 speed.
    The Tasmanian Devil into Tasmanian Tiger concept is interesting, but i personally would make the Devil Dark/Fire, while the Tiger would be Ghost/Fire evolving knowing Destiny Bond.
