I have minimized the pain in the neck shoulders and back. I have just saved several hundred Danish kroner per chiropractor visit. Thank you very much!!! OH MY GOD THANK YOU!
    I had a knot between my spine and shoulder blade for weeks after [i am ashamed to admit] getting a new video game and holding the controller slouched over for long periods at a time... then I fell asleep on the couch and that did me in. I had pain down to my elbow and was almost unable to turn my head to the left.
    After doing several of your neck and shoulder tension excercises, I was doing the one in this video and it sounded like someone snaped a handful of pencils in half.... and then it was just gone. I felt high it was so much better, i did not even notice my sense of touch in my hand was reduced til it came flooding back. Thank you again. I am sharing you with everyone I hear complaining of stiff neck and headaches.
    I will be seeing a chiropractor soon, because it seems I have nerves pinched somewhere. But these motions have helped the temporay tension and knotting that whatever the displaced skeleton parts are aggrivating.

    Just have to say that the sun shining in your windows, w the shadows of the items on your windowsill... the sun shining in, onto the floor, naturally getting dim and then brighter... was magical. And so much better than the perfunctory "studio lighting" most ppl use these days. This natural feel really lends itself to your healing practices theme.
    Might seem minor to you, or others ...but I just had to let you know that I noticed it. And it was wonderful. And your entire approach to healing, and making videos, keeps me engaged w you and your channel.
    So, thank you. I am grateful that some people have held onto being genuine 🙏

    Thank you! I am a 46yo forcefully retired ballerina/contortionist & veterinary nurse. Last year, at 45, I was finally diagnosed with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome/Disease. My one type one collagen came back with new-to-the-world mutations. We discovered my father has it as well (he was 72 last year & as of the one doc visit in July, we are still the only two in the genetic registry with this mutation.). Ballet was my life. I had a terrible stage injury to my right foot/ankle in June 2008 (5 years before I ever heard of HSD or EDS). My foot surgeon, who deals with ballerinas & other athletes has called it a career-ender. (Close to 3 decades of dancing & performing & 4 with teaching little ones.) I just had foot reconstruction three in December 2020. I also need my left shoulder reconstructed again, but we are holding off for as long as possible since now we know I have some collagen that just isn't really doing its job very well. I have to wait until I get paid, but am planning on becoming a Patreon supporter this week. The few videos I have watched have helped. Now that we know my true health issue after finally getting to a geneticist, I am being taken more seriously & the medical dismissals of "just fibro & mental health" comments have mostly stopped since switching to docs who deal with the constellations of EDS symptoms. (I have been dismissed for most of my adult life.) No one ever looked at all the falls, subluxations, dislocations, injuries, etc. Or put the puzzle pieces together. This video alone stopped the terrible crunching & grinding that happens in both shoulders at about a 45 degree angle. They are still catching on the way down, but at least that terrible noise is gone. I have been working towards more natural health methods, anti-inflammatory eating, etc for years now. I plan to incorporate your techniques into my daily life. With every doc visit, we seem to uncover something that has plagued me since birth, but now has a name, & therefore some coping techniques to utilize. (Like the rare Bertoletti's Syndrome back issue & some more common, but painful back conditions.) Thank you so much. I do not know how CZcams knew I needed to look up Feldenkrais, but it was a great reminder!

    • @happyday868
      @happyday868 Před 2 lety

      I've injured my left shoulder for 10 years. This is what cured me permanently with acupressure. 1) go to the left foot, to the left ankle. Apply outward pressure from the middle of the top of the foot where the ankle crease is, and go across just around below the ankle bone to the left to the side of the foot. It must be very painful. Repeat 7 times. Do the same on the right foot. This will kick out the shoulder pressure and tension. 2) go to the left elbow. With the tip of the middle finger on the right, you should feel an indentation at the left elbow where the bones meet. Bend the left arm a bit. Apply backwards and forwards pressure at the groove. You really need to reach into the groove and it should hurt a lot. Do seven times. 3) wrap your right arm around your neck in the front, putting the inside of the elbow close to your chin. Where your middle finger touches your bone plate in the back is the point you want to apply pressure. But don't do it there first because it hurts a lot. Go to the right side first. Have someone go to the right side ,just symmetrical to that point on the left. Tell your friend to use his or elbow to get more strength and apply rotational pressure. But before doing this he or she should find the spot with the fingers to see where it hurts the most. That's what you need. Do 7 times. Then go to the left side. Check where it hurts the most symmetrically to the spot on the right side. Do 7 times. Your injured shoulder pain on the left should kick out at least 60 per cent. You have to do the first time right. Later on you can do yourself in the back with a ball in a sock. Physical therapy alleviates the pain but doesn't cure perfectly. It took me 9 months to cure completely but I religiously do 3 times a day. You get 80 per cent after 3 months but if you don't continue it will go back. I stopped doing any exercises that affect my shoulder and back. You need to isolate it for a cure. A little deviation sets it back. I only did finger exercises, feet, toes and hips. Very slowly. Good luck.

      @@wisdomgemsfrommsquiettime1638 Really try and make sure the spot you find really hurts, feeling like your finger is caught in a door. This is the only method of acupressure I learned from a monk that solves a deep chronic problem permanently. Do it religiously 3 times a day. You just undo the blockage. Don't get caught with the permanence of the injury. If your brain still works, you can heal. One of our gurus was successful with 60 people last year with Parkinson's and they were able to sit up and bring the leg to the bench. I feel so happy when I was able to fix my shoulder and want nobody caught in the western trap I was driven into. Your body will heal. Breathing right is also very important.

    Oh my goodness! I found out that my neck-to-shoulder is the real issue and the scapula was just trying to compensate for it/ they were working together more than I realized. I kept having to really calm my "neck" down during this, as it wanted to tense up. I see you have a neck video, too, so I'll be doing that. The Feldenkrais Method of slow movements of resetting the nervous system to unlock stored tension in the body is paralleled to the work by Levine in his amazing book "In an Unspoken Voice: How the Body Releases Trauma and Restores Goodness." Admittedly, I read portions of the book first and didn't realize Feldenkrais has a way of actually doing what was written. This is wonderful!

    Your style of exercise is very chi gong like. This helps a lot. I also did this and tried to let my head rest on the floor while doing this. Even though the pain is on one side I swapped out, and after the pain left, I did it twice on each side, I then let my raised arm go down slowly to the floor,back up then down to the leg and back up. It really released tension.

    Taro. I commented yesterday and I think I will do so more often, since almost every Video you are uploading is helping me. I found you yesterday and after every Video i am just smiling. I have been neglected by doctors for almost 10 years now, because I am too young. But I always had those tensions all around my body, and in the span of 10 years I built muslce yes, but thos habits never changed. Im just now realizing, how bad my posture really is, and how we as humans let go of the control of our body. We just move it to be distracted. From moment to moment. I have been on a spiritual journey this year, So I guess i am very open to self healing. I did so with my mind, and with the power of my mind I overcame a wheelchair diagnosis. But now I can improve even better, since I am now conciously influencing specific parts. In my meditations this year I already did what you described. You could say I was about to "invent feldenkrais style" in my own way. But now that you have given me the vocabulary to what I have been trying this whole year with my own positions and explanations I am already incorporating many new techniques of yours into my daily live. Are you aware that your videos and your work discredits the whole medical system? Where no real help is given? You are cultivating self healers. I love this. I love you.

    This is a really good system. I’ve lived under chronic/intermittent musculoskeletal related pain, and certain pains create their own resonant pains within the body. When I fought to get to the point where I was capable of avoiding triggers, then I have built up my muscular balance to support,; still I cannot seem to avoid the occasional trigger condition. This means I am unable to plan ambitiously, lest I overstep and become unable to function. Adding this discipline allows me one more ‘trigger-defuser.’ This gives me hope.

    I've had a pain in my right shoulder that has been only temporarily responsive to massage, chiropractic and acupuncture. The pain of dry needling is too much to bear. But with this one exercise, the tightness in my right shoulder and scapula released and my arm fell literally two full inches lower after doing it. All of the exercises with Taro have been AMAZING for me. I've been wanting to try feldenkrais for years, but in the early 2000s, I couldn't find a practitioner. A few years ago, I thought I'd found a practitioner, but he wasn't doing the work I was looking for. But here we are - with the likes of Taro Iwamoto doing their thing online - there are practically no excuses for not finding something that will work for each of us. Grateful for this channel 🙌
