    Routine servicing so commonly forgotten about either through absentminded, bury head in sand or lack of funds. Yet even if they had done the service, how many mechanics would be aware of how to reset the oil life, was certainly a bit of a flaff with your hi level scanner. Wonder if a more basic service reset scanner been more straightforward and effective 🤔 very interesting video thanks

  • @MrByootox

    Mitsubishi Outlander has a very similar thing showing "dpf service required"
    It does throw up a code saying the oil level is high.
    This is just a calculated value as there's no level sensor on them.
    Into special values then engine oil and reset it.
    At the very least lower the oil level down to your max as well.

  • @robinwells8879
    @robinwells8879 Před 4 dny

    I serviced my Honda frequently and used top notch oil and still it repeatedly required aerosol cleans and forced regens. The system is utterly crap on CRVs. To be fair it’s the only crap bit but it’s crap.
    The issue seems to be related to the dpf being mounted in the front in the huge airstream. At motorway speeds in cooler weather it’s unable to achieve the heat required for regeneration and clogs. It’s an example of immature technology rushed to market that does no good for anyone let alone the environment. Best cure is a masonry drill defeat through the core!

      Hi Jimmy so I had a regen then 2wks later the warning light comes back on , scanned it no fault so my mechanic reset the ECM/PCM,reset data,write data to reset the oil life, then reset calculated pm value. He didn't do an actual oil change as it had one in November but warning light goes out and then comes back on 5 miles later. Do you think this is because he did not do the oil change , can the ECU recognise if the oil is diluted? Cheers Steve

    Hallo kann kein English. Habe 2013 Crv 2.2 Diesel. Jedes habe ich 3- 4 Dpf Symbol und Notorogramm. Problem ist auch nur 20 Km zur Arbeit fahre ich. Habe mir ein Launch Diagnose Gerät gekauft um jedesmal Regeneration zu machen um den Dpf Symbol zu löschen und aus dem Notprogramm zu kommen. Habe aber immer spätestens nach 8.000 Km Öl gewechselt. Letzte Zeit sogar 4 mal Regeneration gehabt innerhalb 8 Wochen. Habe deswegen 2 mal Öl gewechselt in 8 Wochen! Weil mir ein Mechaniker gesagt hat, das Motoröl könnte nicht mehr gut sein wegen den Hohen Temperaturen beim Regeneration. Habe auch nie am Display den Öl Reset gemacht. Nur wenn es das System angezeigt hat das bestimmte Tage zum Ölwechsel sind.
    Meine Frage an Sie und die anderen. War mein Fehler das ich nach Ölwechsel nicht es Reset gemacht habe und deswegen der Dpf Symbol in 8 Wochen 4 mal gekommen ist. Habe das Auto seit 6 Jahren. Und jedes Jahr mindestens 3- 4 mal das gleiche Problem mit dem Crv.
    Schade kann kein Englisch. Kann aber die Antworten von euch Übersetzen lassen was ich Falsch mache!

    I hardly take my 2.2 DTEC for short trips, the people that buy diesel because "MPG" but all they do is city driving and short trips.. crazy.. 30000km a year and lot's of highway and it sees enough accelerations up to 3 - 4K (gotta teach those EV's a lesson in whois boss sometimes), the engine is built to make miles and not hypermiling destroying clutch, DMF, DPF, and axles because "I cruise at 1500rpm and shift at 1800rpm because cluster says I should". My old man was a marine engineer for 40 years and taught me all about engines. Poor maintenance, poor fuel and poor use destroys everything.
