This storage lift is meant to get boxes into your attic space, not for any living thing or person.
Always consult with your local structural engineer to manipulate any roof trusses, rafters and how much weight your attic space can hold before loading your attic.

Would have stop sensors to not crush something if operating from above and I’d have switches on both ends and railing and gate at top to keep someone from falling in when down.

I have a hoist like that. It has its own stop sensor.

I ordered the Hoist from Home Depot.
Most Electrical suppliers carry Unistrut.
Most of the Unistrut fittings came from Amazon.

If not for human lift, how do you offload the items that you send up to storage? What is the payload limit?

looks like there is a ceiling ladder just to the left of the lift opening.you'd pull that down, and climb up above to offload.
