There is a very definite difference in the styles of preaching and singing in the different cultures, but the message is the same. I started listening to Tony Evans and at first, his style of prpreaching was hard for me to warm to, but I love his sermon. It didn't take long before I no longer heard a difference. He is a great pastor.

For the record, excuse the pun, I go to a multi cultural church where *nobody* so much as claps their hands. I love old Gospel music. (But I have to love it, at home!)

Not saying whites don't sing from the soul, but it is kinda bland, lol. There is a huge difference between the two, and can have the "culture shock" affect.
I'm not a fan of the black churches. There's always too much excitement and overkill. It's like they compete with each other to see who can be the loudest. Which is actually crazy because they're all equally loud. Black churches are like black people at the movies; a lot of unnecessary extras you didn't pay for! And I'm always like, "Calm down, Jesus still can't hear you!"

I went to a black church as a white person, it was amazing. Everyone was singing and dancing. The only thing I didn't like was that it lasted 3 hours.
