How did it hold up after 4 years? I have a client wanting the fence stained (we are Midwest too). I know vertical surfaces will hold up better but I’m curious how it’s held up

Deck horizontal surfaces definitely fade (but no peeling or flaking!). Two coats is stronger than one, obviously. I have had to clean and re-apply one time. Under the covered part of porch is still going strong...have not had to re-apply at all there.

@@ThisBetterHome hey buddy, I don't think the wood is drinking the stain. I think that's just the solvents evaporating into the air and it gives the appearance of the wood soaking it up.
