$70 Ozark Trail All Terrain Wagon (8" wheels) - THUMBS DOWN

  • We picked up this collapsible wagon from Walmart for $70 and we are NOT impressed with the way it rolled on the sand. It practically just dragged along the beach until we got to the harder sands BUT the top half of the beach was hell to pull the wagon through. It's going back!

I tried this cart this week and this review is 100% accurate. The 2 front wheels just dig into the sand. It absolutely is not worth pulling across the beach. It is designed and promoted as such but it sucks! I'm in good shape and pretty strong but about 20 to 30 feet wore me down. It works great if you're not using it for the beach.

I am 66 years, two months and 17 days as of my comments. Walking across soft sand was not as bad as walking to my vehicle several blocks away making lots of trips. It carried everything I bought and was able to put my 14 months old granddaughter in it. It was well worth having it at the price I paid. It also moved over the rocks in the parking lot on the beach. Walking it across soft sand was a little more challenging. Thinking smarter instead of working harder, I parked the Ozark wagon on the part where boats are launched and then walked my items to where I wanted to be close. Then after most of the items were out the cart, it was not so challenging moving over soft sand. Overall I really love this cart. I am planning on camping trips and have various things. I will be purchasing another one for my solar generator and my multiple cameras, lights, etc.. Thanks for reading my comments. Smiles

That's extremely awesome!! I'm glad it worked for you. For me it was like pulling dead weight for two blocks. I have other wagons that I thoroughly enjoy. I'm the Director of Events at my company so I use a lot of carts for work. The ones with the drop down rear panel are my favs . I'm curious to know how this one does when weighted by your generator and equipment. Keep me (us) posted.

Agree, beats the heck out of making a gazillion trips to the car to carry all that stuff walking in soft hot sand. It’ll be useful for car/tent camping too, uneven terrain but not soft in the mountains, put your stuff sacks, tent etc etc all in one trip, specially in bear country where the cooler needs to be constantly carried in and out of the car several times a day.

when the shore is 100`s of feet away and have to drag all that load to say the wagon now works fine in hard sand then why do you need that wagon? just for hard sand ? anything works on hard sand and at shore most likely salt water waves will hit it eventually rusting it useless because the cheap metal is made off.
