Alex Pandrea Hi!
i love that you don't just upload videos about sleight of hand but also on performance and that is what makes you unique ❤
This. Is. What. I. Searched. For! Not showing magic, like everybody else, but showing the showmanship behind it! Please more!
Alex Pandrea how to perform if we are invited to perform on a family engagement
Hey Alex,
I'm big on cards but never really touched much coin or spongeball stuff even though I know they're crowd pleasers.
Can you give us some tips or advice on where to learn the napkin spongeball routine you've mentioned in a few places?
Alex: Whats going on?
Chris: What's going on man?
Alex: Awesome!
Angry Sock haha lol!😂
Knowledge
Can we start by "My name is Phenolphethalien, can u pick a card???"
Chris Ramsay dude you were flourishing while Alex was speaking to you man. RUDE!
Chris Ramsay how to perform as a kid if we are invited to perform on a family engagement
Please tell me what can I perform to get all the attention of the spectators? ??
Great ramzini approach techniques
A few days ago I noticed a really cute new girl in my class that just happened to be sitting right across from me. About 45 mins into class I took out my cards and started flourishing and caught her eye. She turns completely around, dramatically rips off her glasses and says “how did you do that!?” From there I did a few color changes and tricks with her rings and got to know her a bit. Turns out she has a boyfriend but I’ll never regret making her day by showing her magic.
On today’s episode of things that never happend:
Don't be discouraged by that. Keep impressing the ladies that way! Show them that you are different! Great idea! Good luck!
Yah jadi sadboy si goblog
Wkwkwke
Approach anxiety is the most difficult thing to explain to nonperformers. lol. It's always nice to see successful magicians discuss the topic and their experience with it.
Ya approach anxiety gets me sometimes (not so much anymore) but if you just power through it then it always turns out fine..
Don't bring linking rings to the bar? Aww man, there goes my entire routine. :p
Chris is a real go getter. Btw love when you guys collab, alway makes for a good video.
glad you liked it. oh and ya, I see your comments and think it's Nick haha
haha yeah I guess I'm his duplicate
I prefer performance advice and snowman ship WAYYYY more than just learning more sleights
*facepalms* realising I wrote snowman instead of showman
@@ahumanithink249 *Here's a mind reading trick... You knowingly wrote 'Snowman' in order to make a joke and also so you could write that reply!* 😂😂😂
My advice would be learn one or two tricks with coins, rings, straws, paper money, lighter, something organic.
And it should be REALLY good trick, deceptive, and totally unexplainable.
Go withz simple "look" and than show them. After, if person is interested you can explain you do magic, pull up cards etc.
I allways found cards to be little bit "over the top" because ppl dont regulary have them in their pockets. However, a trick with ordinary items like the ones I mentioned are just "natural" to show. Just a simple "look what I can do", show it as "btw", not with grandioso "behold! All eyes on me!", show them even under the table so just one person can see it. If its a good trick that person will do the rest of your job and he will collect the audience.
Perfect! Thanks for the comment Igor!
On a long-distance train - taking the cards out and playing around. Usually people get interested instantly and there's plenty of fun for a few hours :-) Unless they are wearing earphones and lost in thoughts
Wow... My two favourite magicians in one video giving great tips!!!!!!!! Thanks this will help so much!!!!!!

Love this video thanx 🔥🔥
Thanks guys. Love the info!
GREAT TIPS FROM TOP PROS!!!
Love your vids Alex (and yours Chris )
Love this video - as a newer magician I approach people and have a chat explaining I’ve been working on something and ask if it’s cool if I show them?
They normally say yes (again going down the vulnerable approach) I then do a little talk and perform crazymans handcuffs which I love and always gets amazing reactions, if they ask for more then I bring out some cards
Great video... thanks boys!
Love your stuff keep it up 👍👍👍
I love this video raeally helpful ! 2 of my favourite magicians on CZcams !
I totally agree with both of you. The idea of using something at a table and not even act like you’re a magician is brilliant.
Help a lot... thanks...
I love when you guys colab, you should soo or more often
Useful for the new 🌟 of tomorrow
Very very useful.. Thank you guys
So good!!!
This is awesome thank you
Oooh, i just love it! haha
Great advices i get to people saying something like if this your card when they say no i banish it and say we dont need it anymore and i gets really good reactions from that
Haha the first is always working! My first performance i told them i lost a bet with a friend. Good vid Alex!👍🏻
I really loved this video so much as I was searching for videos on these type of things. Can you please make a video on how to manage spectators who does things on their own when I don’t want them to do anything or keeps asking questions that might fell me into trouble?
Thank you
Amazing content!
VERY NICE TO SEE CHRIS RAMSAY....great combination both of u :)....love from INDIA..:)

#RAMFAM
I'd love to see a video of you hitting a bar situation warts and all.
Great Vid.
This video is so good
very cool.
One of my best was at a bar fiddling with my deck of cards with a friend and a table near me noticed and asked what I was doing. I just threw my hand up and said, give me a minute and I’ll be right there. I ended up doing tricks for about 6 different tables!
So useful love you guys
thanks!
Beautiful ❤
Thanks for the video. Good tips
as a musician I can say this, the straw was a great suggestion. it's what I can reasoning the cast. if I'm standing around with a guitar on my back people always ask, "Hey do you play". when I learned a card trick. if carry cards to practice. so I would sit at the bar some nights playin solitare to my self, which got the cards out and justified it at the same time.
I could keep watching you both talk for hours. Thankful for everything to both of you but mostly Ramsay(I’ve know of him longer) I think everything you guys said was gold do more of theses videos or a podcast episode that’s 24 hours long lol.
Thanks Tim. I've done some interviews like 6 years ago on my channel with various magicians...and more to come!
More vlogs like this!
Subscribed.
I usually just fiddle with cards while in a crowd and just wait for someone to notice, I look out for the people that are amazed even a bit and then try to go on from there
Also the video is helpful and the collaborations are awesome love you guys :)
dementors1o1 look for ppl who are smiling!
Chris Ramsay thanks ^^
"My friend dared me to do a magic trick" is known as the Top Gun or the "She's lost that loving feeling".
Cool video👍
Yo yo yo! this works for me
Haven't finished the video yet haha. But thanks for doing all these collabs! It's cool to see the community :)
thanks for the comment. stay tuned if you like these type of videos.
"What's goin on?"
"What's goin on, man?"
"Awesome"
I often do the spring thing or anything flashy with cards like cuts, but as you said doesnt always work the thing that works best for me is have my friends introduce me like have them telling people i do card tricks this works most of the times for me.
Killer man killer
You are awesome and you are killing
Your content is very precious
thank you! quality over qty for me
Before I had shaking hands and big anxiety when approching people.. and I learn to not take myself too seriously when i perform, it makes me feel confident to go "make people some great funny time" instead of "PERFORM MAGIC THAT I PRACTISED FOR HOURS". And I do perform really strong effect (Cardtoon, Torn and restore, Tiny Plunge, Tattoo reveal etc)
You can expect some disapointement If you want them to be impressed by your magic,.. Hecklers or people not as Mindblown as you'd like....
BUT, if you go perform for having fun and connect with people, making them laugh, having a great time, you will never be disapointed.
For Approaching I can say things like "Hey guys, I found a cool cheesy Card trick on CZcams and theres NO WAY it can work, wanna try ?"
or "Hey, wanna try an experiment, it never works but i still hope someday it will! "
"Hey, how many magic trick have you seen today? Oh none ? Not anymore BOOM and making a Fan" It always get a laugh
When I get hire in a place to do magic, you can go like "Hey guys, is everything is fine here ?? You have Alcohol ? ... Fun... ? Does really anything is missing ?? like some Magiiiiiiiiiiiiiicc (making a Fan)
It always important to be as presentable as possible, I dont feel like approching people if I'm not confortable (Hair and beard trimmed, and feeling fantastic(not wearing Jogging) loll
Hope it helps !!
Woah.. when Ramsay said "magic is used to connect with someone" I got goosebumps 😂
Both of you are awesome! Always inspirational & educational.
Thanks so much!
I'm just getting back into magic again at 30 during the pandemic. But I'm really into coins and rings so I'm sticking with rings as a casual way in. Coins can be introduced organically in certain settings like bars (once this pandemic is under control!): for example, borrowing a quarter. If not, borrow a dollar, turn it into a silver dollar, go from there. I'm also learning Danny Goldsmith's amazing ring to coin spellbound so that's a perfect transition into coins. Now I just have to brush away the butterflies of nerves!
This video is really great for beginners[like me]
But can you please make a video of 'top 10 tricks for your own card routine
These videos are the few types of videos I call "Golden Nuggets" Those were some purdy amazing tips!
Thanks! I did one with David Williamson also a few months back - more to come!
Lol the way Chris was just staring weirdly at Alex 😂😂
I get that a lot 😅
I think this is the year that I will start performing (hopefully)🙏😀
Houston. N Go for it man ! I got the same problem I mean I've been sitting in my room and practicing sleights and techniques for almost 2 years so I think it's time to put up to some routines and start performing them :D
Do it! It's very fulfilling
I didn't expect your answer here so I appreciate you even more now Alex. This year is gonna be Shaky Hands Year(SHY - what I just did here) hahaha :)
Have you started yet???
How is it going man? You've got some good reactions?
Cool Video ;)
Love you both ...
Do you tell me which was the toughest magic you ever performed ??
And tell me about the give away waiting for it man...
Personally honesty is the best policy: I have been working on something that I think is entertaining and fun, and I'd like to share it with you, it's not about fooling you or catching you out, it's something I hope will give you a moment of what the f' just happened. Done. No lies or lame stories. Just truth.
I like to do magic tricks for people in the morning. You approach them at breakfast with a simple card trick, and they always say things like, "oh my god", or "wow, what the heck", or like "get out of my house"
Hello Alex, where did you buy that jacket man? It is awesome
I like to do simple routine say double lift show card...place in middle....boom comes back to top...if they may have idea like "oh you had two cards." I am able to do the next which is to take that one single card and either force to top with some cuts or pass...or even a simple sleight of hand. I have got responses back they thought they figured it out but then totally baffled after words....and it is so simple.
So for me it just a simple “hey I’m a dork and socially akward but I’m really trying to stretch myself (especially if it’s near the beginning of a year) New Years resolution talk to more strangers and make friends so “you guys lemme know if I’m doing ok...and if not then lemme know that too...hooked then you break out some magic...maybe idk still these a great thoughts to have as a performer thanks for sharing bros
Lol 3:15 what the hell hehe you lak dat😂😂😂😂😂
I'm a card guy so getting into cards straight away for me is the ideal.. my go to is "are you any good at guessing games?" If they say yes I say great.. if they say no I say "then your perfect for this as I pull out the cards" straight into two card Monte.. into ambitious card. And take it from their with the more mind hitting card stuff.. Granted cards aren't great as a constant so I usually wait for the "can you do anything without cards.. then go to the mentalism with a centre tear... something you guys didn't mention was knowing when to move on. Leave them wanting more
I usually start out with impromptu objects straws money change napkins and then ask if anybody has a deck of playing cards? of course nobody carries a deck of playing cards and if they do wow! if they don't ..have somebody imagine they just found a deck of playing cards in their pocket and have them throw the cards at your chest' meanwhile you have a deck of cards palmed in your hand and just as they throw the cards you reach up and grab your chest as if you were to grab the cards that thay just threw at you and say.. okay now we have a deck of cards check this out, and go straight into doing a card Effect... great advice. Thanks very much I appreciate it guys
I usually like a card in the middle, to the top and then color change at the end.
What I do is walk up and say”This is already awkward and I’m gunna make it more awkward.”
you know it is a going to be a good video from the start when there is no intro
I use 3 card monte by Chris Ramsay
I usually chicken out and not do it. I think I'm gonna try to fiddle with cards and drop one on the floor and see what happens. Great tips guys.
It's happened to everyone, me included. I'd see a group and then I kinda just walk away. I try to make an excuse in my mind. The BIGGEST piece of advice would be "DO IT because you never know who you will meet". I've made more connections by meeting random people and I can just imagine the missed opportunities.
Something I've said in a bar is "hey guys I work as a magician and I have this new trick I've been working on. Can you let me know if it's any good before I do it professionally?" That way you lower expectations that it might not be bad and also they feel like they are getting a peak behind the curtain and seeing a magician practice even if it's a trick you've done a million times
I realized a while back that if you start with the simplest, most direct trick, you hook someones attention FAST. its even better if you can repeat the trick more than one time as well. It's best if you could do that trick repeatedly, because eventually you can just say, "you know, I learned a couple ofother ones too, if you wanna see"
I like to walk up to people and say, "Yo, yo, yo!" LOL! No, Alex, I don't really do that! I'm kidding!
Seriously, though, I've gone to a nearby bar on a couple of occasions and here's what happened...I used the rubber band through the thumb trick as my icebreaker. I won't go into my whole routine, but I tell them the magic only works half the time and it can get messy, so please be ready to dial 9-1-1, blah-blah-blah and make several jokes about it. Here's the weird thing. They loved this trick so much, they kept asking me to do it over and over. I never got to any card tricks. One night, I was able to do the rubber band passing through another rubber band trick, but then they kept asking to see that one over and over.
Anyway, I think your videos and Chris's are great. I've learned a lot from the two of you.
