    The biggest upgrade I did with my Boston 12s was to swap out the horrible laces with a pair from my Asics gel Nimbus 25. Much better upper comfort and no more issues with lockdown. Once fully broken in around 50 Miles for me as I am a light runner they mold to my feet. I run some steep hills and no other shoes gives me the control and speed when going down hills.

    I had Boston 11 sitting in the box after 30 trial miles. I was going to purchase the 12 but decided to revisit the 11s giving another chance. Literally took 80 plus miles to break in 😅😅😅 I now have 170miles and I love the 11’s. “Harder” midsole actually helps me building calve muscles. Durability is insane. Went to 1000km in my first pair of Boston 12's, nearing 200km in my second pair and so tempted to buy another pair right now, currently switching between the Boston 12s and my second pair of Adizero SLs, but a concurrent second pair of Boston 12s would be nice especially as it's raining frequently where I live and the 12s are great for wet weather, but the SL's would soak up far too much water.

  • @timtrenholm3698
    @timtrenholm3698 Před 5 měsíci

    Fix the heel lockdown on the Boston 12 (and the upper in general), and the shoe becomes amazing. I've tried KT tape, Compressport trail socks, even tried gel bandaids, lace lockdowns to the point I have nasty lace bite on the top of the foot. Interestingly, the Takumi Sen8 I don't find that bad, and I think it's due to the lack of the excessively hard inner heel cup.
    I have 1065km (660miles) in my first pair of Tempo Next%, which I had previously retired. But found I could still trust them on treadmill so I'm cautiously still using them on treadmill only to see how far I can take them before I feel it's no longer worth the risk. I have 500km in my 2nd pair and they feel exactly the same as the 3rd pair I have with only 32.5km long run in them so far. If I don't hear anything soon about the Tempo Next% replacement from Nike, I might try and find a 4th pair...they work that well for me and I find they really pair well with the AF V3, where they did not on the V2 and especially the V1.

    I loved the Boston 12 up until 250 miles when they lost their responsiveness. The shoes look good and rubber looks untouched but I don’t enjoy running in them anymore and they don’t seem to work as a daily trainer. They feel like bricks. Maybe I’m too fussy but I felt a bit disappointed and sort of expect shoes to last longer.

    I have both the B12 and Superblast and I've been running mainly with these 2 for the past few months and I agree with your comments .. I like the superblast as well but not that impressed either. I liked your "boat analogy" .. i like max cushion shoes but I don't need extra wide, the foam is protective but not that bouncy .. also I'm not a huge fan of the upper, fits a bit too sloppy. I would say, it's main pro is also its main con : I easily forget that I'm wearing it.

    There's much better shoes out there for my mechanics..pretty given up on Adidas, Brooks, Acics, Nike,Saucony..either the shoes don't work for me or their marketing scams are atrocious..fortunately there are other companies that make great shoes without gimmicky trash in/on them..a thing I discovered for running in the rain is compression shirts and shorts instead of any kind of rain gear..the compression stuff sheds water..I'm gonna get wet from rain or from sweat either way but at least the compression stuff is cooler and not heavy..😊
