  • In this video we unbox and test the quality of three 4x6 shipping labels that we bought off of amazon for our small business shipping label printer. Results are actually pretty surprising.
    These DK labels are for the Brother QL series thermal printers QL1100 and the QL1110NWB

    Great review/tuts videos. Thank you so much! Can you do the Thermal Label Software that work with the QL-1110NWB and if both OEM software and 3rd party software work better or worse if possible?

    great video. thanks for this. pls can you try different sizes of labels compatible with the brother ql series especially the continuos labels. We've been trying to figure out how we can print barcodes with odd sizes.

    As per usual thanks for getting this info out there! Now I don’t have to buy all these labels to test them myself or feel like I have to shell out for the brother labels to get ones that wont lift.... I truly appreciate it.

    You should do this with non proprietary labels. Like ups free, FedEx free, cheap, middle and expensive on amazon. Also, test if all labels can take water on them without getting smudged, how the adhesive handles cold weather, warm weather etc

    Just a heads up for people - the Brother branded DK-1247, which is the 4.07” x 6.4” are $21 a roll right now, versus the DK-1241 4” x 6” labels at $36.

    • @LoriArrowood
      @LoriArrowood Před 8 měsíci +1

      I should add that they’re 12c a label versus 19c for the 4x6 version. So you get less per roll, but it’s a little cheaper per label, still.

    This was a fantastic video. Thanks bro! It’s mostly because of your original video on the Brother printer that caused me to bite the bullet and throw down for it. I’m so happy with it, but I’m just about to order my second batch of labels. Excellent timing!
    Can I ask a technical question here? How do you turn off the auto cut feature from your phone? I was able to research and figure it out on my laptop, but that doesn’t stay selected when I use my phone to print. I can’t find the answer online anywhere and the instructions are no help. I have an iPhone, if that makes a difference. I saw you do it so easily on yours...I hope you can help me out. Thanks again!

    4:02 The box with Priority Mail Tape that "wasn't sent Priority Mail" has a clearly visible Priority Mail 4x6 label on it. Was it the actual shipping label or a test label applied overtop the original?

    Review on Amazon says there's a sensor that blocks use of non-Brother labels after 60 days (say confirmed by Brother phone support). Has anyone experienced this?

    • @thecollegepicker
      @thecollegepicker  Před 2 lety +2

      I've had no evidence of anything like that. I'm surprised the company said that, absolutely would destroy their product and my view of them if they did. I've had mine for years without using their labels. You just need a black square on the back of the 3rd party ones.
