    Hi 👋 DAVE , The day there is a beginning and an ending to everything..Your video was not viewed for four days and when I began watching, I said “” WHOA”” he’s making me famous.LOL . I was blown away by your expertise and how little I know about trail cameras and how much there is to learn..To get real picky you could see where one setting could result in a separate toutorial with pics lasting 10 min each ..Imagine?? By the comments they were pleased.,Appreciated new ways to see better results, and you know what else DAVE , it is the foundation on my approach to photography..It begins with what’s under your feet to infinity.. The ability for the few of us that have the ability to see vs those who have to go to school to learn . You are the former and welcome to my world pal . It’s beautiful.. Never a moment passes that a picture is about to present itself..Thank you. This is one special presentation and I was really taken back with the Doe showing so much affection to her young . For that I just may let the first Doe pass me by this fall !!!

    Thank you Dave. This is my first camera and I am an older woman that has bears, skunks deer, raccoons, bobcats, opossum and, who knows what else , running around my yard. I only have 1 1/2 acre, but seem to be overrun with wildlife. Your voice of experience is a huge help on the set up and saved me a lot of time learning new tricks. I will let you know how I make out with my Hawkray Mini Hunting Camera.

    Hi Dave, got my first trail cam, and didn't know some of the terminology specific to infrared cameras. I was very happy to find your video and took notes so I can set up my camera. I mainly got it for pest control reasons, the small 4-legged critters that only come out at night. I think I'll be turning down the IR Intensity as I'm shooting close to the ground. And the point at the end where you discuss formatting the card was another question made clear to me. I did put the card into the computer and it seemed formatted with an image folder, but I'll go ahead and format it before using the camera. The small manual mentioned it in passing, so I wasn't sure how important it is. And I'll do it again after bringing video into the computer. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and wisdom. Have a great day.

    Thank you so much for this video. I am an older woman living in the forest on the Oregon coast. My husband bought me a GardePro A3 a few years ago, we set it up and got great pictures and then put it away for the rainy season. Three years later we have a pesky bear I wanted to get some pics of, but was very intimated trying to figure out how to set the camera up again, your video has taken that intimidation away, the camera is now ready to get photos, hopefully, of our local bear population. Thank you again!!!

    Your choices for your camera settings are very similar to mine. I designate two SD cards per camera even when the cameras are identical models, I mark the cards and I still reformat them every time I switch them out, over kill maybe, but it works for me so far. I do not bait my cameras either, we have a lot of wildlife and the more I use the trail cameras on our property the more I learn where to put them. Thanks for the video.

    Thanks much, Dave. I do very similar. A couple things I do so I'll share, if it's okay. I'd appreciate your ideas as well as viewer ideas.
    1.) How long I leave my trail-cams out?
    I designate two 32GB SD card(s) for each camera. I check them about 7 to 10 days depending on time of season. If I'm checking varmint patterns, I'll check daily.
    2.) What I do with my recorded trail-cam clips after making a video?
    I received a 4 Terabyte memory disc from Santa on Christmas 😊 so now I started doing this.
    After I make a video, I create a file folder on the 4 Terabyte memory disc, name/date the file folder, then place the new video w/ ALL related trail-cam clips in that file folder.
    So now I can retrieve "a video" from the 4 Terabyte memory disc and all the related trail-cam clips I used to make that particular video are there in same folder.
    After this, I erase the little 32GB SD card and now it's ready to be rotated to its designated Trail-camera.
    It took me a while to figure out some kind of system to rotate SD cards, etc.....so I wanted to share.
    Thanks for your videos. Keep them coming.

    I collect 16 cameras every morning so I can afford the storage space for longer videos. I agree with your logic in most settings. The resolution is a bit different on each camera so I choose the resolution that is the lowest before I see any difference with the highest that maintains 30fps.(sometimes FPS in the day maybe 30 but only15 at night) Often I can not see the difference between 2K and 4K but the frame rate goes way down. Some video editing software struggles with higher resolution.

    • @HuntingFarmerOfficial
      @HuntingFarmerOfficial  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks for watching. Endless capture (when turned on or enabled) will allow the camera to continue operating even when your sd card is full. As it takes a new picture the oldest picture will be deleted to make room. When endless capture is off, the camera will stop working when the sd card is full.

    Hi Dave, I got my first trail camera the other day Aimtom T905 and I have a setting that I'm not sure what it means, maybe you might know? It's IR distance and the options I have are: Near, Middle, Far. Great video btw, hope to try the settings out :)

    • @HuntingFarmerOfficial
      @HuntingFarmerOfficial  Před 4 lety +1

      That is your flash (or infrared) brightness for the night photos or videos. Near is the least bright while far should be the brightest. You’ll probably want it on the highest setting (far) or medium (middle) setting. I’m afraid if it’s on “near” it won’t light the subject up enough at night if it’s any type of distance from the camera. It won’t hurt to try them all and see which works best for your situation. That’s the fun thing about trail cameras, you can play around and make it work best for what you want it to do. 👍

    Helpful. Do you know what "motion filter" means on the Dargahou 4k 48 MP Trail Camera. Is this what is blocking the sensing of motion at more that 10'? I don't seem to be able to capture longer distance.

    Hi Dave,
    Thanks for you videos and advice !
    I have a camera that I don’t understand how to settle it properly. It is taking 2500 false triggers (pictures and videos) a day. I had the picture + video mode, it seems that it was taking from around 8 in the morning to 6pm pictures every 40sec (more or less), but without being in the Timelapse mode. I am living in the desert in Baja California, so maybe the hot temperature or the wind ? I have already changed the PIR sensitive to medium, but still happened to the two camera of this model.
    Another model of camera that I used is not that sensitive to false triggers ! Do you know already had that issue ?
    Thank you for you help

    Wow, this is very interesting! I might ave mentioned it before but next time I build a hideout I might setup a trail cam in the area. All of your videos on this will definitely help. This is amazing for getting the right settings, thanks for sharing your preferences brother! I like the video only setting, makes sense so you don't loose any of the action. Awesome video!

    • @HuntingFarmerOfficial
      @HuntingFarmerOfficial  Před 4 lety +1

      Putting a cam in/near your hideout is a perfect example of trail cams versatility. They can definitely serve as security cams and are made to be weather proof and obviously run off batteries which make them useful in remote locations 👍

    • @HuntingFarmerOfficial
      @HuntingFarmerOfficial  Před 10 měsíci

      Thanks for watching. You must turn the camera to “on”. Leaving it on setup will drain your batteries dead and it won’t take any pictures. You should be able to cover the blinking light without an issue 👍

      Usually if the daytime video works but nighttime is black it’s a battery issue. Low batteries will give those symptoms. I highly recommend Energizer lithium batteries 👍

    Great tutorial Thank you I needed that for a trail camera I was setting up. Do you configure your own setting for SMPT. On the creative XP Raven trail camera I got an email from them suggesting that I set my own SMPT as they are only sending 50 emails a day. How do handle that. I get more then that some days. You mentioned your software that you process your videos and SD cards with do you mind sharing what you use. Thanks again I appreciate all of your videos. Good job.

    • @HuntingFarmerOfficial
      @HuntingFarmerOfficial  Před rokem +1

      That’s usually an issue with the playback device/software and not a camera issue. If the camera has a playback screen, watch the video on the trail camera to confirm the playback speed is normal. If its playback is normal, the issue is with your computer/laptop/phone (or whichever device your using for playback)

      If your camera is working during daylight but not at night, the first thing I would check would be batteries. Low battery voltage can cause the camera to not operate correctly at night. If new batteries don't solve it you could contact customer service.

    Please help! I recently bought a PNI Hunting 350c cellular trail camera. I use the default email option. No other manual SMTP settings work. The problem is that out of a 3 photo burst, I only get one of the photos (the second taken). Is it possible to get all 3 of them? Every time I set it to burst, it only sends me one of the pictures. It seems that the camera first takes pictures, then it initiates the sending of a picture and in the meantime it starts taking a video and while it takes a video, no other pictures are taken.

    Thanks dave. Just what i was looking for. So say the ir is how much light the camera puts out when videoing. So what exactly is the pir? Please explIn a little better for me please. I bought my camera to catch a thief, so i want to have as little light as possible

    • @HuntingFarmerOfficial
      @HuntingFarmerOfficial  Před 9 měsíci

      The PIR is the sensor that detects heat/motion and tells the camera to take a picture/video. The IR will allow the camera to take pictures/videos at nighttime. The camera will automatically turn on the IR lights at night
