That giving off Nas Vibes lmao
Cole needs this right now.
Facts, this is Drakes fault
2 v 1 drake, MAKE DRAKE FIGHT BACK! XD
This the only way to make this situation less nasty lol
Doesn’t surprise me tbh. The diss sounded half hearted and I didn’t think he believed most of the things he was saying at the time. Honestly he should’ve just dropped the project without the diss
The most interesting part to me now is what will Kendrick do? Brush it off with a few bars? Ignore Cole completely? Or just bury him?
I honestly think dot is just gonna give him props and fully go in a Aubrey cuz let’s be honest Cole just caught a bullet meant for drake …..my opinion
@@kingchapo1 we’ll see I guess. I have a strange feeling Kendrick is gonna go in on him. Check out Moosa from TDE most recent tweet
It probably depends on drake, I think Kendrick is waiting for drake to respond to drop a full diss. If drake doesn't drop this whole thing may just fizzle out. I don't think Kendrick that kinda person to go attack Cole after Cole retracted his diss.
Dot will spare him and focus on destroying Drake
Probably brush it off. Maybe even accept Cole's apology. Kinda depends on how much Kendrick hates Drake, though. If it's really like that he'll probably bury Cole just for being associated. If it's just rap beef, the first one is the most likely
Now we looking at the competition like quick submission, they tapping out before we even get a chance to miss em.😂😂😂

Kendrick definitely sent Cole a snippet of his diss track 💀
JFold was baffled by the snip and tucked his tail. Pathetic
I don't think so. I think push come to shove if Kendrick still drops a diss, J Cole will still respond to it. I just think he responded cuz he was in the middle of a roll out and on tour and Kendrick's diss pissed him off, so he wrote something in the heat of the moment, but then reflected and realized that he and Dot dont really got beef anyway. It's Dot and Drake that have the beef. Some real disrespectful shit is finna be said on both sides, and J Cole being cool with both of em is opting out. Kinda like when you have two friends that are arguing and you start to pick a side, but then the other one does something petty, and you're kinda just like, "Aight, yall figure that shit out."
Still pretty weak from a rap fans perspective. But as a man? Yeah, I get it.
Dot wanted to give him a chance to forfeit 😅
He sent him heart part 4
Nah fr cause Cole ain’t have no problem dissing lil punk and nem but he knew what this was gonna be.
And now we look at the competition as quick submission
They tappin' out before we even get a chance to miss 'em - KING KENDRICK 👑
There’s a fine line of competition when there’s dissing involved because the disses can overstep personal boundaries in friendships and I think Cole realized when he dissed his discography, he overstepped. We all know Kendrick’s discography is top tier.
Cole isn’t going to sell his soul and ruin a friendship for clout or because the fans want blood. Cole is better than that.
That same friend dissed him though. No excuses
Should have never said it. Most his fans were saying it wasn't really about him. Kdot would have let it slide if shut his mouth. Now he gotta apologize and saying he will accept his fate
Lol what friendship? his "friend" said ..."fuck you bum" don't misconstrue respect and friendship ...and you can even question if there is respect at that point even within competition
Why are ppl NOT understanding this. It’s a losing battle for him.
If he go hard and diss him like “Historical” battles , he not going to La anymore period. They will crash out for Dot! And he LOVES Dot.

@@erikgonzalez2486 on God
I respect Cole as a man for being transparent about how he felt, even though it was obvious from the track. I'll probably listen to his shit more as a result actually. That said, I lost a lot of respect for him as a competitor in the game, because we know all that talk about wanting smoke and him being #1 is cap, and even he don't believe it. What he did was weak in the context of rap and competition, but incredibly brave as a man and especially a man in the industry. I applaud him for getting ahead of it before it got worse for him.
Y’all try to be so deep. It ain’t that serious. All somebody gotta do is say the words “spirit” or “peace” and critical thinking goes out the window. It’s a verbal sparring he been asking for. As a J cole stan since The Warm Up this is the lamest shit I ever seen. This was not serious or deep enough beef to publicly humiliate yourself and have this embarrassing stain on your legacy. It’s just competition and lyrical sparring. What makes it worse is every song for the last few years he been asking for smoke and for somebody to test him and how great he is. This really is embarrassing. What makes it worse Kendrick will show no mercy and still ether him
I think he’s more concerned I’m creating actual problems with actual friends of his. You don’t throw a punch at someone and just assume it’s just sparring
We're also forgetting the fact that there was no actual beef though. He big upped another rapper, and then that rapper dissed him pretty much for no reason. That was weird from jump. Hov and Nas had beef. This wasn't that.
I thought this move was mad lame from Dot in the first place. I wanted to see the two of them compete, but I understand Cole saying that he doesn't want to do it like this.

Ugh too many feelings about this. I was actually surprised that he did it in the first place. And if he hadn’t he would still have my respect. But to drop it then retract it. That part. Does that take away from any of the talk he said in his prior verses? If that didn’t really sit with his heart then I respect him talking to the audience directly. I think prior to all this he talked about being a grown family man in rap and not seeking drama in general. Seemed like he regrets letting himself get gassed by his peers to do something that wasn’t in his heart to do. Sad one for the fans but he damn near 40 with two kids and leads a pretty stable lifestyle. Is there space for someone like that in Hip Hop? And if there isn’t what does that say for Hip Hop?
It was nothing wrong with keeping it hip hop. This a competition

That Boyz N The Hood comparison was on point. Looking at his speech I can hear it but at the same time from a lyrical competition standpoint, Cole can’t just retract his words and go all out if he really wants to have his moment as one of the greatest since he be mentioning it in his verses. I love Cole but he gotta embrace the competitive spirit and go in.
i just dont think that's where he is at the moment
I'm interested. People keep talking about competitive spirit but y'all are ok with Wayne saying he is the best on every record but backing down from a battle. Em says he's the best but praises the other top rappers in his era and never dissed them or went bar for bar. The only instances of the top rappers going head to head are when they have an actual misunderstanding or issue with each other. Kendrick and Cole clearly are cool with each other so why would they need to go back and forth on wax? We never have seen that happen before. The biggest back and forths in rap history were always between 2 rappers who were going back and forth because they actually didn't like each other and didn't know each other. Not because of competitive spirit lol
@@RobMarkman Definitely hear what you mean and looking at it now from a much broader perspective I respect Cole more for even having the balls to go in front of thousands and express he felt wrong about it in his spirit. Nice take. No bias felt. Professional take and fair assessment. I’ve been a Cole fan ever since hearing sideline story and dollar and a dream. I've been saying Cole doesn't believe his own words in the diss towards Kendrick, he been super complimentary for far too long to now say Kendrick is anything less than great. Is this career suicide for Cole?
Nah Rob, Cole cant say he's the best no more. Not with the aggression and bravado he always said it with. Because in hip-hop whenever someone claimed to be on top of something and got challenged for their position, if you dont rise to defend your claim, you lose it. I don’t think he’s not into competition. I think he’s not into it with someone he respects and really doesn’t have an issue with. At first I was disappointed in Cole, but honestly he did the right thing. The internet needs to realize that this whole ordeal is really Kendrick vs Drake.

Rob I love your well rounded points of view. We all have inherent bias and like what we like. There is and never will be a universal best in this art for. It is purely subjective. There has always been room for spirited competition especially as there are people who are better in certain technical aspescts of the craft than others whether it be wordplay, rhyme schemes, unique words used, approach to storytelling. Concsiousness or vulnerability, transperency. I jave slight push back and disagreement at being overtly bragadocio but not wanting to bring smoke where it has been levied upon you. For sureskies it's easier to talk about hyperbolic threats or opps or whatever but his feature run and verses been elevated so it will be difficult to hear that King, GOAT, God talk from him for a while. I respect Cole as the man he represents himself to me. Honestly that was the most mild peice of rapping on wax beef I ever remember, and I don't just mean by way of popular or mainstream emcees. I believe both Cole and Kendrick are greats, and legends and alongside Drake, K.R.I.T anybody else they all deserve to exist and garner as much support as hearts their music can speak to. It just feels a little ironic and disengenuin to claim the top spot, or say I've chased it for uears it don't matter no more and then when someone challenges that (friend or not) I'm not with it. I don't like violence and am tired to the disproportionate numbers of homicide in the rap community, but they never said each other's names. K Dot mainly came at Drake with Cole catching strays for teaming up and his big 3 line but saying he's numero uno and Muhammad Ali. I like that Cole's the people's champ. I don't think Kendrick's verse, by way of diss was all too hard and hope however it all shakes out they all continue forging their paths and dominating the lanes they set up for themselves.
I appreciate the video! It’s disappointing as a fan, but brother to brother I respect Cole’s stance. Great breakdown. 💪🏾
You can respect his honesty but if you move the way Cole has been moving, it's hypocritical to then apologize when it's time to get in the ring.
Let’s do a poll on whether you should stick with that name haha
Great show Rob 🙏🏼
Support the real hip hop heads not the vultures!!! Love this channel Rob 💯
love you too
😂 Homey has a list! Calling out comments. Hahaha. But on the real I like Cole. And Rob is RIGHT. Kendrick is my fave but saying Cole is garbage? Nah. Cole is a Jedi in rapper’s clothing bro! I legit respect that & honestly it makes me wanna listen to him more.
Another great take on this situation. I’m disappointed but I also understand his approach to this “beef”. The Big 3 conversation is officially over.
This is my first time ever seen one of your videos are coming across your channel and you have the best take on what happened J Cole has the same birthday that my son has and my heart was broken when I heard this man back down to Kendrick. Because Kendrick seems to be one punch man I'm getting real f****** tired of people not going at him like they should but I really didn't want it to be J Cole either J Cole is actually better than Kendrick and Drake combined because he can take both of their Styles and murder them with it but I don't think he knows that.
You made some valid points however my problem with j Cole and the unnamed is that some of the stuff Cole says can clearly be attributed to someone or someone can take it that way. Another thing is Nas clearly doesn’t perform ether anymore cause he no longer stands by that record. Cole could’ve took that route. He could’ve simply deleted the record quietly and moved on. I think if the response to the record was different he wouldn’t have been affected by it. Last thing I don’t want to hear anymore I’m the best or if a rapper would bars from when the opportunity is there to match up with your closest peer was there and you ran from it. Nah I’m cool on that .
Right
LMAO! Man came with receipts 🤣🤣 that’s awesome
Respect u heavy rob, doin your own thing now.
Thank you
