A Drive To Madhe Ghat With Friends.

As you drive from Velhe Village to Madhe Ghat, you come across the beautiful Gunjawani Dam, the road clinging for quite some distance to the banks of the Dam backwaters.
The road takes you past new resorts, small villages, and as you reach the parking area for the Madhe Ghat viewpoint, the villagers have organised a visitor-fee, that you pay to enter that area.
You drive across a rickety bridge over the roaring waters of the river that feeds the dam, the swirling waters milling around the boulders that lie in its river bed, teasing, frothy, before they disappear downstream.
As mist closes in around us, we park our cars in the designated area, and walk the path that climbs slowly to the plateau above.
That gentle hike through the tree lined path into the mist that grows into a fog that clothes you in a moist embrace transports you into another world.
The waterfall from the plateau on this visit was not visible and I was unable to film it without taking unwanted risks attempting it.
I recommend that you be careful too, for the unfenced cliffs edge is at least a 1000 feet above the valley floor... straight down!
