Yuppers mine has gaps on the back of the scales as well, my stamp is correct, yours is going to for sure be more rare and more valuable with the miss centered stamp!!!! That's very very rare on a already rare piece (TC told me 432 pieces to be exact was the run). I have a little crack in the left scale if looking at it blades up and forward but I don't mind one bit because it just gives it a little bit of extra character!!! I love the vintage synthetic scales with the brass liners contrasting perfect with them and the pretty bolsters!!! Plus it's 1095 and that's just lovely vs their trusharp stainless and the carbon is sooo much better!!! For 40 dollars I almost wish I would have gotten two of them because they are absolutely beautiful even with the slight misfitments. I'm super happy you are happy with yours! I'm just like you in not sending a knife back because of little flaws just because it makes them unique!!!

I got a new Case knife yesterday & it has a minor gap also. It's no problem to me. You got a good deal on that one. 1095 is a great old school steel.

Hi George, To date the case knives....first look at the Case logo to establish the time period. The logo changes every 10 years (2020-230 will have 10 dots in 2020. It loses a dot every year. One of mine in the has 6 dots which makes a 2024 knife. You can download the charts for the time periods. I hope that helps. Enjoyed the videos.

I've got the "Mini" 3.5" closed version of that knife. The spey blade now days is more often than not used for skinning or cutting things on a flat surface.....meat....thin plastic or paper sheets etc. I've seen blemishes here and there with Case knives, but that's the first ever dicked up tang stamp I believe I've ever seen on one. It almost leads me to believe they did that on purpose to perhaps give the knife extra value because it's a rarity.

Curious though, what makes the SMKW Trapper an exclusive? It’s the exact same as my trapper? I thought it would have some etching on the blade or something.
I have 4 Case knives. All with the yellow synthetic handle. My favorite is the trapper, followed by the Sodbuster, then the Slim Line Trapper. All of these are carbon steel. Finally I have the Case Fisherman Knife. It’s no longer in the catalogue. It is basically a 2 bladed Texas Toothpick. The second blade is a bottle opener / scaler / hook disgorger. The Case logo is replaced with a hook sharpener. It is stainless steel.
Well it's a little tough on my budget. But still the value.......thanks for watching as always

I believe it was a specific run limited just for SMKW from Casexx. Not nessesarlily the knife style but who it came from. Probably because there are a lot of Casexx collectors. But hey don't quote me on that. Thanks for watching I appriciate it
Yeah I was wondering that too. I've had many of the same knives in yellow with carbon or what case calls CV and SS
The standard yellow handled Trapper from Case. SMKW are experts at marketing!😂
Sorry about that , Case's quality control isn't what it used to be. It is hit or miss.

Very disappointing for a USA made Case knife. Just sad to see Chinese made knives with better quality than ones being produced in America.

Lol...I assume you talking about the blade. The description from SMKW says a Spey blade and Clip. WTching the video it does look like a drop point. These days I am finding it hard to name some of the blades. Just getting old...thanks for watching. Appriciate it
