DART Train Holiday Extravaganza! Action at St. Paul, SMU/Mockingbird, Parker Road and more!

- Today, we're out for a day on the chase to catch the DART Holiday Train and Bus! Our journey begins at Parker Road Station, as the special train was set for Red Line service on the day I filmed. We'll take a look around the station, catch a surprise appearance of the Holiday Bus, and head downtown for some awesome station action! Enjoy the show!
I haven't been able to film the DART system (or transit in general) for quite a while, and it was a lot of fun having the time for it today. I just wish I hadn't cut it so close! I finished editing this video just hours before release AND it's late because of the excellent thumbnail!! I hope it was worth it!
If you've made it this far in the description, you're a true fan! How do you like these longer videos? Traditionally, they don't perform as well as the shorter ones, but I wanted to have some fun. It's not too often Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve fall on a Saturday! Oh, and if you're looking for that 360 video tour of Parker Road, here it is: • Parker Road Station 36... It's unlisted, since I'm not really sure what I could have used it for. I purchased the camera years ago in hopes of using it more, and now it's kind of outdated. Once again, I'd love to know your thoughts!

Love it! The holiday trains and buses are a fun addition, and Akard is wonderful at night with all the lights. I was out due to a personal emergency during the week the holiday train was on the red line, so I did not get to operate it. I've heard you have to avert your eyes for how bright it is at night! As of posting, it's got one more week to go, out on the Blue Line. I think it just finished a round on the Green Line.
Edit: Fun fact, the LED Rollsign you pointed out about 12 minutes in, on LRV 222, was our first upgraded LRV! 222 and 135 were the first duo of cars upgraded way back last year or so. It's the OG LED car.
I'm planning on heading back out there to film it before New Year's. I'm determined to catch it at least once! As for the LED roll sign, that's awesome! I had no idea. Hopefully I'll catch you out there one of these days!
I legit thought you meant the "blue blank" which is like a rollsign but the background is just blue with no foreground text cause they have that
I caught it the last day out on the Red Line. Wasn’t too bright but it sure is quite the train! I was wondering if y’all would split 225 and 249 apart for service on both the blue and orange since they run 1 car trains during off-peak but I guess that’s not the case! Glad to see more DART operators appearing in CZcams comment sections giving feedback and answering questions! Y’all do a great job and I appreciate your work.

Glad you tried to see it. I saw it last Sunday at Downtown Plano, and I was surprised at how good it looked, with all the lights and wrap stuff. I’ve got my own video of it on my channel. It comes at starting at 6:00 PM, just so you know next time!
A little more info on the LED signs, almost every 1st gen SLRV (with a couple exceptions) has received an LED sign. A few 2nd gens have gotten them as well, like 229 and 263 you saw at Mockingbird. Glad to see you back on DART.

Sorry for the late reply, but thank you! It's fun seeing more and more of the LED signs as I wander around town.
@@NTxRE You wouldn't believe how many are being converted. In this week, they've converted eight SLRVs, so if you wanna get video of a rollsign before it's too late, act fast! Car #189 is next along with #143 and #221.

Cheer up. At least you saw a bus that had a holiday decor. That still counts right?
I'm not actually upset about it, I'm just surprised. I've seen other people's videos and I would actually enjoy getting a chance to catch it. Fortunately, it's still running through the end of the year. I only wish I could have caught it in time to get the video up for Christmas. Not the end of the world of course, and I did enjoy seeing the bus. Especially how the wrap on the back side turned out.
