I recently found this video in my recommended, and remembered watching it when I was younger. There’s just something about DART that gives me nostalgia for a better time.
Compared to the "toy" we have here in Houston, Dallas has a very nice set up and the fact that both DFW and DAL are connected by rail, amazing. Houston voters turned thumbs down of future rail expansion, so it looks like the 4th largest city in the US will continue to have an anemic transit system.
@@storrentMC That is most likely a reason why DART is now replacing the signs with new LED color signs that show both the terminus & line name (ie "ORANGE LINE-DFW")
I LIKE ALL 4 LINES BUT THE WORST IS BUCKNER AND LEDBETTER BUT THERE DEPENDABLE BUT ITS TIME FOR MAJOR UPGRADES ON THE TRAINS A LOT OF TRAINS HV SIGN PROBLEMS AND DOOR PROBLEMS BUT ITS FASTER THAN THE BUSES ANYTIME
@@cameraman655 it's just more difficult they only have one station now but they're planning on diverting the orange and green lines underground in a new tunnel within the next 5 years
When I'm in the Dallas area visiting my youngest son, I always ride DART rail from where he lives at in Carrollton to downtown Dallas. I use it when I take Amtrak to Dallas and when I leave Dallas by Amtrak. DART rail is the way to go to & from Downtown Dallas, Amtrak, the Texas State Fair, a Dallas Mavericks basketball game and an SMU football game & SMU men's & women's basketball game at SMU.

161 has "RETTEBDEL" upside down for "LEDBETTER"
The terminus signs are on a feed tape and sometimes get stuck. You'll see at least one broken on almost every train.

The d2 subway is under construction in 2023-2028 and Knox Henderson Station is next to Cityplace/uptown station and abandoned until 2045 plan
They have the same propulsion as the MTA R110A and the TTC T1

Dallas only had buses 30 yrs ago and it was horrible service. The light rail is the best to happrn to Dallas!
