    Wow!
    Very informative, my friend.
I must admit that Mr. Goodyear's
Story was a bit sad... and that he deserves a hero's recognition for
the work and dedication he did for
    science and technology.

Nice to hear some facts about this amazing guy, My team had one Trivial Pursuit question about him and we answered something about rubber, but it's the vulcanisation which makes it so unique. I still don't understand the fundamentals of crosslinking so please, if you coul explain more about that.

I am extremely inpire of the story, create all the effort, with such little profit, but he never give up, I am so proud of him, everytime when I drive my sport car, speed is nothing without control.
He is such a great admirable human being, we should never forget about him, of contribute all the technology we have today.
    Great video on youtube!

Almost all of my entire day is spent in watching science videos. Came across ur channel, and i have to say, man u deserve hell lot of more subscribers. Ur video is really nice, and ur voiceover is nice too. You know what ur videos need ? a bit of background music. Just a bit of ambient not-in-the-face music will oomph it up! Keep up the good work man✌🏼

Awesome video, very well done! Question: is the isoprene in the natural rubber latex already polymerized? If so, does it need to be further polymerized before shipping to the compounder?

There was a small paperback book that told the comprehensive story of rubber and Charles Goodyear. It's a damn good book . Ammonia ain't mentioned here or lead or zinc oxides nor carbon black .

Strange how he knew he needed sulfur to make strong rubber, i mean after 10 failed experiments how did he know to keep trying different amounts and temperatures and different cooking times and kept at it for over a year, after 10 tries i would've thought maybe sulfur isn't the right ingredient lets try something else

We have so many scientists and chemists , even computer software that can analyze and predict chemical reactions yet we can’t figure out how to recycle vulcanized rubber? Sounds like we are missing something or must be the approach to solving is the issue…! Because personally I can come/think up of multiple controlled experiments that we can do to solve the vulcanization /devolcanization process.

I am just a novice playing around with latex from wild lettuce. I have read that using elemental sulfur is not ideal, but I can't find out what the ideal compound is. I understand that this is a complicated process, but I would still like to play around with it, with the proper sulfur. I already tried using elemental sulfur, with limited success. If someone knows the proper sulfur to use, I would appreciate it!

Hi hobiest from a third world country talking here, i wanted to know if that i can create rubber, that could be used in shoe soles (like crepe soles), by mixing synthetic latex and formic acid, without vulcanizing it, my question may be stupid, am not sure but anyway thank you in advance my friend

If I wanted to make rubber with ingredients found at a home depot. could I?
They do sell sulfur products there for gardening. I did see some sort of rubberized blackish product that goes on roofs....Am I crazy to even think of doing this? Would the rubber become vulcanized with heat and sulfur?
