In keeping with Dreams of the Deep's cosmic horror theme, "Summon The Choir" is a tale from the world of Bloodborne, recounting Master Willem and his troupe's discovery and use of the Old Blood that would bring unknowable power and begin The Nightmare. In his youth and foolishness he felt himself unstoppable, only to find his mind trapped forever in madness. Remixes of Dreams of the Deep will be coming soon on "Hymns of the Dark - EP" releasing September 17th!
Thanks to @ABluSkittle for another incredible art piece!
Lyrics:
Here we're frenzied by the illusion
We're dying for a transfusion
A cure to kill the virus in our midst
This city needs a savior
Healed by the church's favor
Experimental taste of moonlight's bliss
First blood
From cosmic wonders
A dark flood
Of power from under
Congregate and we begin the recovery
Praise be
The gods have fallen
Fear me
And heal the rotten
Summon the choir for we've made a discovery
Now the surgery is complete
And mortality is defeated
The needles grant the power in our veins
Brought by the holy hunters
Old ones and dreams of thunder
A sacrifice within the flames
Though the treatments take their toll
I've changed the human soul
This is power beyond control
Sing for newly granted eyes
And dreams now realized
For the righteous and divine - Hudba

I know it says "Fear me and heal the rotten" but for the life of me I always somehow hear it as "Fear me and *kill* the rotten" which, given what happens in Bloodborne, still fits.
Well, they say “heal”, but in reality that’s just their way of saying “kill”, so your absolutely right in your interpretation
@@jonl7855 I think it's supposed to be heard as both heal and kill.... Fitting the whole narrative better in my many eyes.

"Brought on by holy hunters, old ones and dreams of thunder. A sacrifice within the flames."
Of course you would just casually drop bloodborne, demons' souls, sekiro and dark souls into a single line.
Why not? It's just right there for the taking.
A sacrifice within the flames could refer to old yharnam. Old ones could be the great ones, and the dreams of thunder line could refer to the nightmare realms. But since this is a song, I could be completely wrong in my interpretation.

From a thematic side at least, it's cool how you can link all these games to an extent.
I hope my son is a holy hunter . 😢
It's a piece of art. Art can hold many interpretations even if out right stated what it means. We can make our own meanings in such things, it doesn't take away from what it is

Another great song from Aviators! I love how the whole process of old blood transfusions is presented in a way full of hope and faith in a better tomorrow. In my opinion, this perfectly reflects the atmosphere that had to accompany the founders of the Healing Church, which was created out of the good will to help and raise human consciousness beyond the reality we understand. However, as one proverb says, "Hell is paved with good intentions" which well predicted the catastrophe to befall Yharnam...
The **road** to hell is paved with good intentions.
@@Lamadon_Pyreus Is that how this is pronounced in English? Because English is not my first language, and the proverb I wrote is one-in-one translated from my language. Well, thanks for correcting me I guess.
Which is, of course, nonsense. Everyone knows that the road to hell is paved with the souls of hunters and Ludwig.
@@iusethisnameformygoogleacc1013
The road is paved with the bodies of the people of Yharnam and the hunters, simpleton and scholars, holy and filthy. The bodies of people, our species. Bloodborne is a reflection of Lovecraft's mythology, it is a world without hope, inhabited by monstrous forces beyond our human understanding.
It is a depressing demonstration that people when faced with divinity are only mindless, wild beasts. We are pushing ourselves into a world where a human being should not be. Our vanity and pride lead us to covet the knowledge, power and wisdom of the Great Ones, unaware that we are doomed to failure, to the insane bestiality in which the human species was born and will remain stuck until our inevitable end.
By the old ones I was just wanting for a version of this with the lyrics. Probably my favorite song you've ever done.
So if I'm understanding the lore of this album correctly...
Endgame - They fought desperately, and managed to kill all of the old gods.
Summon the Choir - He stole some of their divinity for himself, ascending to godhood.
My Church - He started a cult.
Godhunter - Then, many years later, the Godhunter came after him.
Or perhaps...
In Endgame, all but one of the gods fell to the people.
The Godhunter finally killed the last god.
Many years later, a man started a cult.
Then they unearthed the remains of a dead god, and he used it to steal a piece of divinity for himself, ascending from a cult leader to a god.
And now the cycle begins again.
This guy does some great Lovecraftian themed songs!
If I could give a little nudge nudge...
I'd love to see a darkest dungeon song!
Yeah I was thinking this song matched DD perfectly.
I love how your music is far enough removed from the inspiration that it can stand on it's own but you can still definitely tell what it's from
Choir: Summoned
Beat: Dropped
Dick: Out
I am forcibly removed from the church
I have always wondered what Aviators meant by "Dreams of thunder" since the closest thing to the word "thunder" is the electric buff used to hunt down dark beasts which isn't close related to the arcane.
Only now I realise that during OoK's boss fight a thunder is summoned from a higher plane.
From what I know it's referencing sekiro because he uses lightning. "Holy hunters" is demon souls (I think). "old ones" is bloodborne. And "a sacrifice from within the flame" is darksouls.
When the song is so good that you summon your subscribers instead of the choir. Amazing song
I absolutely love how you just feel ready when the first notes are playing when they start you know you're going for a fun ride.
The choir in the chorus is such a melodic addition, only making the song even more of an earworm. Wonderful song as usual
Aviators Is Back With Another Banger My Boys!!
Love how the picture looks like our priest's about to go completely ballistic on this poor skeleton like a gotdam harpsichord.
My only regret is that I can only like this once
Me with my alt accounts: yes only once
It's so great to see someone use such a little spoken part of bloodborne lore as the Choir in a complete and cosmically awesome song. Fear the Great Songs!
music: dark and epic
voice: angelic and powerful
lyrics: poetic
background choir: lovely
I can't stop listening to your songs - especially to this one. It inspires me to continue on writing my fictional stories.
