How To Make a Comb Kazoo (DIY)

- Continuing with my Kazoo Fridays series... here's a requested video. This is my first attempt at making a comb kazoo. These are often called the simplest DIY kazoo. Let's give it a shot!

Oh Yee Gads and Little Fishes, You have just taken me back to the very early days of my miss spent youth. Someone taught the 4-year-old me how to do this and I annoyed my father with multiple of these kazoos. But, I use the vellum that you used for mechanical drawing instead of wax paper.

This is fun. For those who don't have any wax paper handy, pretty much any paper or plastic will work. I've done this with a plastic grocery bag and with a sheet of typing paper.
Yeah. There are a lot of ways to improvise something like this. There’s no wrong way to do a makeshift instrument.
Did you know that the late Jimi Hendrix made a kazoo possibly similar to this one and played it in his song croaatown traffic.

We never taped it on...just folded it over the comb and blew through it.

Happy Kazoo Friday! Omg another kazoo Friday and we get to move the clocks ahead on Sunday. How exciting but it leaves me with so many questions. Does the the comb have to be black, plastic or nylon, large and fine teeth or all the same size teeth? And then the tape.. so many types to choose from.
