The Sullivans - John is back

- 2 and a half years after John (Andrew McFarlane) left the series The Sullivans he is back. He suffers from amnesia and serious injuries in a hospital in London when his mother Grace (Lorraine Bayly) finds him. It takes months until he recovers and just before they return back to Melbourne, Grace is killed by a bomb. The whole family struggles with her death but John has another thing on his mind. He has to find his wife Nadia, a girl he met while working as a doctor in Yugoslavia. The only thing he know is that she is in Palestine. So he travels there and hopes to find her.
The last scene is also the last scene I have of John in The Sullivans. I have no idea how it ended really. Maybe someone can tell me. - Zábava
I'm Malaysian and part of my teenage life I spent watching this wonderful serial. I 'm all teary eyed now!

Watched this series faithfully from 1978 to 1980 - it was far and away better than any of those trashy merickahn soap operas all added together. The Sullivans portrayed a family that would bind together thru thick and thin with love being the common denominator holding everything together. Bravo ! glad this made its way to CZcams. What would we do without CZcams, heyy?

The storey of John sullivan was mysterious and intriguing, brilliant script.
Power Without Glory and The Sullivans, we were spoiled back then. Hundreds of hours and not one swear word. Crawford and the ABC in their glory days. Simpler times, lucky to have lived then.

I wonder why he wasn't in the final episode for Dave's funeral. Or Harry. It didn't seem right without them.
I wish they could do an update, tho the actor who was Terry would no longer be able to be in it.

Yes, I recall a spin-off 'The Missing Years' was part of the title - it followed John's adventures from when he went missing, got caught up with Nadia, the underground rebellion ?in France during the War, and ? I think ? it ended with his being injured in an explosion just as he and Nadia were going to escape to the UK/AU ..
The John Sullivan movie can be purchased from Crawford's Products. Private sale. It come free of charge after you buy the whole series. I bought the whole series. Such an Aussie icon

You need to buy it as a private purchase through Crawford's Products DVD. I love the Sullivans. I bought the whole series. The Greeks were so good to Australian soldiers. Norm marries Marlina a beautiful Cretan woman. They marry in a Greek Orthodox church
