  • We're off to the seaside for this modelling idea, as we look at how to model Skegness station, and surrounding area. There's also a brief look at the history of Butlins, which first opened in Skegness in 1936!
Featured are the rolling stock you'll need, and where to purchase materials, to make the buildings etc.
The Butlins memories website is located at: www.butlins-memories.com/ please note this has NO connection to Butlins, though Butlins has helped out with the site in the past.
The official Butlins website is www.butlins.com

Very interesting ideas and plans. It should be an epic build based on your previous work! Looking forward to it.

used to go skegvegas as a kid with the family ,there's a public footpath from the back of the caravan site, across the main lines just up from the signal box and station. It used to be a favorite spotting point, you got very close to the trains in those days. the path also allowed you access to the carriage sidings 3/4 lines (only ever used 3) , spent many a night climbing in and out of the Mk1 stock that was stored there at weekends. Saturdays and Bank Hols were the busiest days a mix of 20's 25's 40's 47's.
In The steam days (before my time) Billy used to send the bluecoats down to greet the punters at the station, and show them to there buses to his camp

Cool introduction to your layout. Would be cool if you eventually get maps and images (or video) to show everything you described and didn't show content for... but I enjoyed listening to your introduction.
