“Whats your favorite planet?”
“MINES THE SUN!”
They call me "Whiskers" because I'm curious.
Tony H itll burn ur eyes out
This is the responsible kind of quoting. Quoting what we literally just watched is irresponsible.
Noah Hurley-Abelew lol you think so?
'This is the responsible kind of quoting. Quoting what we literally just watched is irresponsible.'
I never knew there was more than the Jeff Goldblum episode..."If the Moon was made of spare ribs, would you EAT it? I know I WOULD and I'd wash it down with a tall, cold Budweiser."
Troy Evitt “would ya eat the moon if it were made of cheese?” Lmao I love that skit
Why would you stare at the the SUN?! Because I'm curious. My friends call me "Whiskers", because I'm curious, like a cat.
Would you rather be the top scientist in your field or get mad cow disease?
Cool not cold.
I #Knew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“That thing ever comin back!?” 😂😂😂😭😭
Most hilarious joke, but a little spooky that the shuttle Columbia almost made it back 4.5 years later with no survivors.
@@matt0laughed reading about it a little it seemed the engineers tried to ask for high res pics while it was in orbit to see if the left wing had damage. They were told no multiple times to the managers, including Linda, but they said no.
“Do you know what kind of sandwich it was?”
“I don’t know, ham?”
“I guess… I don’t know”
Wil's Harry Carey will always be one of my favorites.
Same
You gotta love how every great comedian has their own style and contributes their own trademark to comedy. Will's style I can never get enough of, it was so random and off kilter and you never knew what he was going to say. Many may not agree with me but to me he's a comedic genius.
That was Harry Carey, not Will. You never knew what Harry was going to talk about next. In the middle of a ball game he would start telling some rambling, incoherent story...usually because he was stone cold drunk by that time.
@@eduardopena5893 Yes I know that will was imitating Harry lol they both were joyfully wacky
LINDA HAM, LINDA HAM, LINDA HAM does ya name make ya hungry!!!!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Back then the worst thing you could say about her was her name. That was before she became knowb as the woman who killed the Columbia Astronauts.
@@masonallen3961WHAT ?!
Joan allen was on the verge of busting out laughing the whole time lol.
Huh? When was that?
@@SubdolphinX @1:37 @3:53
Does your name make you hungry?….lmao
@@SubdolphinX buzzkill
Joan Allen finally breaking character and laughing near the end was just wonderful in every way imaginable. 😂🤣
She broke character way early in the video not just the end
I love how he often just says HEY!
My favorite part about his impression
When I ask a question a lot of times I go Heyyyyyy! Like that nobody gets it.
I need to do that in work meetings!
"Didn't you die?" Harry Caray literally died 9 months before this sketch aired for the first time.
Do you wanna go to Mars with a dead guy and sandwich? 😂😂
It's a simple question
Well, when you put it that way...
Probably wouldn't work out
That may be the ultimate pick-up line.
Simple question from a simple man.
Will & that shaking is cracking me up😅😅😅
Good job Will!😹
Just like harry
Very difficult to do that and expressions with the voice and he does it TOO well.
I don't know how anyone could keep a straight face acting opposite Will when he's doing that impression.
I don't think I've seen an appearance of Will as Harry where the other person kept a straight face.
I love it when he says, "it's a simple question.."
The Vietcong bit was the part that got me...
I think SNL has a civic duty to put up every single sketch that includes Will Ferrell.
That’d be great cuz he was actually funny when he was still on SNL. His movies are mostly not funny at all.
@@alonzotanner1226 that's your opinion but knows this to call something funny or not has nothing to do with understanding, it's about feeling and being in the right mood, every one has a different sense of humor so just because you don't like doesn't mean it's not funny
@@damxcv Did I say that my opinion was the only one that mattered? Calm your sensitive ass down, clown.
SHOULD BE A LAW
AMEN BROTHER!!! 😂😂😂
The last part with the sleep deprivation killed me holy shit 😂
3:56 I love how she looks around like "Oh save me from this!"
Also you can hear the weirdest laugh.
"...Also, if we didn't dream, our brains would devour themselves in madness and paranoia...the Viet Cong knew that. That's why they used sleep deprivation as a form of torture."
If Will just improv'd that...that's flippin epic.
He could do a whole movie like this and it would be the greatest thing ever...
Did the audience give this skit a standing ovation at the end? It sure deserved one. Great performance by Will.
This is the best Will Ferrell character!
James Lipton Inside the Actor's Studio!
What is no?
There are lots and lots of great will Ferrell characters not just harry carrey try to enjoy all of them
No that's Gus Chiggins Haha this is a close 2nd though 😂😂
Ted brogan is pretty damn hilarious 😂😂
The one with Jeff Goldbloom is my favorite! 😂
How could anyone keep a straight face sitting next to him... :P
Absolutely no way. i would break immediately..
Well not everybody thinks hes funny. So I guess just find someone that doesn't think hes funy

You can tell she wanted to laugh. Will Ferrell is comedy!
This is a masterpiece...
Hard to believe it's been 20 years so hilarious
Shane parker right!!!
Harry : Hey Linda, when are we gonna finally get over to Mars?
Linda : Well, there is a manned expedition being discussed ...
Harry : No, I mean you and me !
Joan Allen is trying so hard not to laugh during this. I'm impressed with how well she kept it together.
Will is a comic genius. He can make any celeb laugh.
"Hey" 😆
The late 90s were absolutely a golden age for SNL.
I just love Will as Harry!
😂
This still kills me all these years on! Grew up watching WGN where they show almost every home Cubs game and Harry Carey was a legend!
"LINDA HAMM"!
Ferrell should to a space parody as harry carey. A feature film trilogy.
This doesn’t seem funny at first, but it’s one of those bits where the longer it goes, the funnier it gets.
Will Ferrell is the master of these bits.
It helps if you knew who Harry Caray was he was still doing Cubs games in his 80’s and would sometimes go off track and talk about random stuff during games.
@@ironmike2798 Kind of like Groucho did on the Dick Cavett show in the early 70's.
Funny as hell soon as it starts
Do you want to go to Mars with a dead guy and a sandwich 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂💀💀💀
It would seem that Will Ferrel improvised the whole skit. Yeah can tell by her reaction
She looked genuinely surprised by everything he said lol
Goldblum did too but you can catch both reading cue cards :P
@@boppob1343 She was trying so hard not to laugh the whole time.
I think SNL is pretty strictly scripted.
A lot of times they change the cue cards from the dress rehearsal, so they get caught off guard sometimes
Seems he did with the Jeff Goldblum one, too.
Oh poor Joan, you can just tell she is looking around at the cue cards like what do i say to this...
“It’s a simple question.....do you wanna go to mars with a dead guy and a sandwich”??
Lmao!!
I grew up w/ Harry and the Cubs, Will Nails it !!!! Priceless and will never get old.
yup...that impression is just as funny as I remember. Most things from my early teens haven't held up as well. Go Will! Cubs win!
Isn’t Linda ham the one responsible for not doing anything about the foam damage
yes!
Exactly!
Yeah and she got away with it.
This was funny enough but nothing like the one with Jeff Goldblum. They caught lightning in a bottle with that skit. My favorite ever.
"Do you wanna go to Mars with a dead guy and a sandwich?"
😂😂😂
Man Will Ferrell is the funniest guy ever! I bust out laughing with anything he does
I taped this when it was live, and then watched it many times. This was a good episode. Back when you could rely on SNL to give you an hour and a half of weekly entertainment. I gave up watching full episodes around 2006. When I remember to check for sketches from new episodes on CZcams, I only play about a quarter of them, and only about ten percent of the ones I play do I watch all the way to the end. For me the heyday was about 1998-2002, though there have been good sketches and performers since then.
I bet whoever invented the shuttle made a lot of money! Then he tried inventing something else but it wasn't as good.
Hahahaha! Freakin hilarious! 😂👍
*Linda HAAY-UM* ! Lol!
I think Ferrell goes Off Script in these Caray Sketches after the 1st Scripted Question.
HEY!
Hilarious.
"Join us next week when we'll be broadcasting from the center of the Sun."
"This just in, apparently the center of the Sun is 8 billion degrees Fahrenheit. That's hot! So, I guess we'll be broadcasting from here."
Linda Ham! Linda Ham! Linda Ham!
Does your name ever make you hungry?
😂💀
A beautiful impression of a Harry Carey impression
I love it when Joan breaks character! :-D
*Soooo, Harry Caray died and secretly became Galactus, Devourer of Planets?*
*SLOPPY MARTIAN LOVE*
The one with him and Jeff gold bloom is my favorite skit ever lol
ZHe did this impression for his audition. I'll never forget seeing this air.
I'm currently in a real deep dive of the Columbia Disaster and ended up here. Man, the internet is weird
("How many survivors?") Ouch.
Same. I didn't know Linda Ham was famous before becoming infamous.
"wanna go to mars with a dead guy and a sandwich"? 😂😂
I always start cry laughing just at the thumbnail pics of Ferrell as Caray 😂😂😂😂😂 then again whatever magic Ferrell had, he could make me laugh just reading the proverbial phone book
My favorite will Ferrell character on snl.
Who else remembers watching this live :D
Danny Steeler what were you like 6 months old you look 17
No *LOL* That is nt me but thank you for asking *face palm* Will Ferrell = Instant Classic #MakeSNLGreatAgain
Danny Steeler I do
I remember watching live then rewatching the tape i made the rest of the weekend. SNL was great.
The best skits of Will Ferrell! These still make me laugh.
"It's a simple question: Do you want to go to Mars with a dead guy and a sandwich, yes or no?"
I don't know why but the "I'm sorry.. But didn't you die?" Was one of the funniest moments in the show to me
"Well Senator Glenn was uh... inspirat... i.. really- I'm sorry, I'm sorry.."
"What's the problem?"
"Please please forgive me for, uh, asking this but didn't you die?"
"Yes I did. what's your point?" lmao 🤣🤣🤣
I did not know Harry caray had a space show! Kool
"How many survivors?!"....LOL
DO YOU WANT TO GO TO MARS WITH A DEAD GUY AND A SANDWICH YES OR NO 😆
When he repeats LINDA HAM 😂😂😂😂
The beginning: eh
The middle: okay this is actually funny
The end: 😂😂
Do wanna go to Mars with a dead guy and sandwich should be on a shirt.
Joan teeters on the brink of laughter thorughout the entire sketch
This guy is a Legend!
Joan has such a hard time keeping a straight face :P
"If we didn't have dreams our brains would devour themselves." HILARIOUS!!
the vietcong knew that
"I'm still gonna eat a planet."
Uranus, probably.
Im surprised there hasn’t been a comedy movie of Harry Carray starring Will Ferrel. Id see it 😎
"What's the problem?!".. 😂😂😂
Twenty years later in 2018, and this is still funny as heck .
"I'M STILL GONNA EAT A PLANET! See Y'Later.. CUBS WINN!-CUBS WIN."
This was clearly improvised. Ferrell was the king of improvisation and ad libbing. And with a single look or gesture he could get anyone to break. He gets a lot of flack for his sub par movies but I don’t think people realize what a talented comedian he really is.
Linda, who lost her job after the Columbia accident board found she didn't even try to find out if Columbia's wing was damaged after the foam strike.
Pretty sure they killed themselves. Nobody held a gun to their head to be astronauts. They could have chosen other careers.
The Ultimate Reductionist
Totally irrelevant. Catching a ride to orbit, while never as safe as riding a school bus, need not be a game of Russian roulette. It became a game of Russian roulette because of the inferior design and poor management of NASA's death trap shuttle. The incident with Soyuz a couple weeks ago is the perfect illustration of a point that some of us have been making for years : astronauts need not die in the case of a simple booster failure. Yet that's exactly what would result in most any likely failure scenario with the shuttle.
Great impression. Love it
"i'm still gonna eat a planet"
ITS A SIMPLE QUESTION
Couple of effects shots from 2001: a Space Odyssey in the intro (from the Star Gate sequence).
Do Ya Wanna Go to MARS, With a Dead Guy & a Sandwich?
😂🤣🤣😂🤣🤣😂
When he looks offstage and sort of spaces out LOLLLL
How many survivors was a prescient question by Harry given the Shuttle's bad track record.
That and the involvement of Linda Ham.
Ah man, now I want a Harry Caray and Dr Brule special 🥲
Soo fu**ing funny I can't believe I've never seen this and now I can't stop
Hahahahaha🤣🤣🤣hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
“Dose your name ever make you hungry “ lol!
Growing up on da south side always hated the cubs but watched them just for Harry Carry
