If you’re new to Sage Audio, we’ve been providing industry-leading audio engineering services and education for over two decades and created this channel to help you make professional songs.
Just the first 2 tips are already 95% of everything. And no, you can't cheat that, you have to record it multiple times. The science behind is that the signal of them is slightly different and that is exactly what makes it wide
I thought main vocals had to be dead centre. I don't understand why to then duplicate them and put them wide :(
@@SK-od6et no you leave the main centered, the stacks of the lead is what they panned left and right. That’s what gives it fullness
I’ve been working on audio mixing and it took a while for it to click, and this guy has reduced 5 years of trial and error in just a few videos! I can honestly say Sage audio is the real deal 👌🏼 thank you for sharing the knowledge other fellow producers/mixers need to create better music
Aww this is going in my favourites, the difference from the first draft until the end is amazing, I love how you put this together, thank you
Great video. Always reassuring to get confirmation on some techniques I'm already using, along with some new ideas/slight alterations. This video is a perfect example of how to deliver practical and easy absorb information in a concise manner.
You guys do videos right. You've incorporated the workflow into the presentation of the material. Highly efficient. Had my google doc open on the extra monitor and took notes. Most productive 15 minutes I've had in a while. THANK YOU!
Thank you for all of your useful information. My mixing has improved so much thanks to you.
Yet an other excellent video with actionable/very usable suggestions. Thank you!
This video was so well done I’m not even going to lie probably the best tutorial I’ve see this year
First time coming across your video but this is so HELPFUL!!! Already subscribed and keep going!
Having vocal multiples is probably the sharpest tool one has in a vocal session and its processing. That they slightly differ in timing and that’s the magic, they become better multiples.
Keep it coming! Excellent as always! Thank you!
This man’s dropping Gems 💎
太好了~~感谢分享,这期视频又学到了很多有用的知识!
Such a great tutorial!
This should have a million views
Simple, easy to understand, and unlike other tutorial that have unnecessary filler. So much information that i've been searching in under 10 mins video. Thank you! You are so underrated! #subscribed

This is so dope. I’m working a rap song with r&b singing hooks. I was trying to figure out how to mix all the singing vocals for the hook.
Because this video, I know now.
Actually today I' searching for vdeo of this type, finally I got.. thankyou
Nice! Glad to hear you found it!

Thnaks for confirming what i already suspected (getting my head round recording vocals - its early days, six months in, lots to learn). Having several takes makes a massive difference... Also, to me, it sounds way fuller than just autotuning everything - its more effort, but to me so far - it seems worthwhile
Thanks for watching - I agree, I think it sounds better to record multiple takes rather than use harmony generators/tuners to create multiple versions. Usually the best things take extra effort!
Amazing stuff 👏👏👏
This was perfect! Thank you!!!
Thank you! Glad the video's helpful
Awesome, when I released my first 3 singles/now "demos" I think I had no idea about any of this stuff, thought the computer just magically did that with one vocal when sent to the mixer/masterer person... damn. :P the next releases and re-releases are gonna be amazing compared to what I have up to this date :p
What I struggle with most is singing in tune and at the right time
Great video again, to the point. As for the service that you advertise, it is a matter of days to send my next project. But. I will like to add, that I do have indeed a mix that needs mastering but it needs also mixing. Imagine if you could provide that service too.
I've been one tracking it and I've definitely made the most of it lmaoooooo imma try 2 tracking next recording session
Awesome video guys🔥
Thanks Denzel!

WTF first of all good video, secondly when you said like the video the literal like button glowed, im actually shocked and im not lying
That's weird! Idk what would cause that haha
I neeed more of these.. is there private lessons available? Please reach out
HOLY MOLY! tx
i wish this took 8 mins like the video length lol
you sage guys know how to do it
Vocalign ultimate helps big time with timing of doubles and your lead
What's the best way to record a vocal part that has an overlap in it? For example, recording part one of a verse that has a scream dragged out in the end that can be heard in the very start of part two of the verse. Do I just need to create a whole separate track for part two? Or is there a way to keep them on the same track without the scream at the end of the first part being cut out?
Thanks for your tutorial bro❤️
But for harmony vocal, you mean that +3, +5 and so on?
I am so fan of your channel
Awesome! Thanks for keeping up with our videos!

Love this shit.
thank you so much
Thank you for watching!
Great tips! How would you handle verse differently? ( I feel this is a good idea for the hook, not the verse right? )
Do a duet video how to mix 2 different voice singing together
Why did the first vocal comp become stereo? I assumed the comp was just selecting the best vocal pieces between each silence or pause and stitching it all back together?
So a vocal comp is basically all the best parts of the takes wrapped into a single track?
Noticed the comp version is stereo. Did you just double it and pan left/right?
I need help
Do I use from slate digital the MO - TT
Beep my tracks after the export. Can you help me and tell me what could be the reason?
Thanks for watching CT! If they're adding a beep it sounds like it's a demo that you're using, but I'm not entirely sure.

Can we use a DS on a voice group instead one by one? :O
Change octave up and down plus 1 or more u think?
How do you make extra vocal layers when you’re using a vocal sample and don’t have access to the creator of the original sample?
Then you need to duplicate the same track over and over, but change it every time. It's not quite so natural sounding, but if you're using samples, it's probably not what you're going for anyway. So you still do much the same thing, change pitch, change EQ, add small, but different delays to some tracks panned hard left and right, whatever you can to make them different to each other so you get a wider stereo image.
Be aware that time based changes like delay can cause phase issues though.
Hi all .Where would you place the deep or low and the highs in the spectrum. I usually leave the lower octave in the middle. What you guys think
Keeping lows centered is a good idea - you can also slightly pan higher octaves, as well as use a chorus or delay effect to widen higher performances.
We need hip hop ❤️
3:15 bro pulled a dream
Thanks for watching!
Imo to many stacks take away the dynamics, soul and personality. You could hear the phasing, and felt robotic. I think dropping the unison and pitch tracks lower in the mix would make the main comp pop out more.
What if I’m trying to go for a more atmospheric reverb sound? (Lots of reverb and delay)
Yeah I would just use more reverb and temporal effects!
4:22 If Heavy D were alive today, this would be the name of his latest CD. "Heavy De-Essing Finessing" featuring 2 Chains, Lil Uzi Vert, 50 Cent, Mr. Cheeks, D-Smoke, return of Ja'Rule, McGruff, Kendrick Lamar, and Lupe Fiasco featuring the lead single, "Besame Mi Culo Cabron" (featuring D-Smoke & Pitbull)
why not use a reverb bus?
Question:I didn’t really understand what’s the unison part of vocals and it’s purpose, can someone explain!
Basically double takes of lead vocal pan right & left
Hello, Why use a stereo track for a mono vocal track?
It's probably just the default setting when you merge clips into one track. Same info both left and right, so essentially, it still is mono.
That's the case with my DAW anyway, rendered tracks are stereo by default, and there's no reason to change the setting as it makes no difference whatsoever.
i was confused by this also. the lead comp starts out mono then randomly becomes stereo yet the other vocal stems stay mono.
Do you realize how smart you are?!
Thank you! I hope the video was helpful!
0:41 when I first saw this, I thought Kenny Greene and Freddie Mercury came back from the dead! (Inside joke only the music-industry astute would and will get it)
man, i underestimated how important time alignment is for vocal layering. but ngl the tuning didn't improve it imo.
I am india🤩🤩
Thanks for watching!
