I appreciate your video and the helpful information in it. Thank you, it was very informative.
THANK YOU! Discovered this video via search and had enough data early on to walk outside with my bathing suit on to get things adjusted properly.
Glad I could help!
Plain and simple understandable instructional video. I can’t thank you enough. I run into trouble adjusting my sprinklers every year and I always refer back to this video. Very much appreciated. Thank you!
Excellent instructional video... keeping it simple and to the point
I have watched so many sprinkler adjustment videos but I just couldn't do it right! I watched your video 2 times and today I did it right and it works great. Your simple step of adjusting before you put the sprinkler in the ground is what worked for me. Thank you.
I, too, found the instructions on the sprinkler to be unclear. Thank you for your work, your video definitely explains it better. Thanks!
Your videos are amazing, and super clear! Thank you so much for all of the work you do.
This is the best, non technical example of adjusting. Thank you.
This was very helpful.
Excellent video. I am replacing a 42-SA with a 42-SA+. Thanks so much.
I called RainBird for help and they sent me this link.
Cool :))
I need help w/ the "left stop" only.....what link??
I need help w/ the "left stop" only...what link???
Very helpful! Thanks. Even a simple guy like me could understand!
Excellent Idea. I was able to replace 2 sprinklers using your perfect explanation
Excellent!
Thanks for the clear (and much more accurate) instructions!
thank you so much! never did it before, but didn't want to spend near $200 to have a company replace (1) head. with your help, I did it myself for lest $15!
That’s a good feeling; I’m in the same boat myself right now
Good video and agree that there should be a manufacturer’s video. Thank you for doing their job.
Best explanation and angle of view of adjustment places on head. TKS SO much!

Finally a clear instructional. So many people make it more complicated than it actually is. Thank you!
Amazing directions...Yes, much simplier than following the company's directions. THANK YOU!
Thank you Thank you Thank you. I wasted one hour of my time following the instructions of Rain Bird. I ended up watering the street instead of my front yard. Watching your video and following your simple instructions, I sat up my nozzle correctly in fifteen minutes.
Thanks for not using clockwise and counter clockwise. 😊
Great video. You have the best and moist understandable rainbird adjustment on CZcams.
I appreciate that!
Thanks for the handy and clear instructions.
Excellent description. This method is very clear and fool proof.
Good video
Excellent video! Thank you!
Thanks so much! Awesome detail which is what I was looking for. Other videos left out too many details.
You saved me a lot of time. Thanks.
You are welcome
Thank you so much..finally understand how to adjust this sprinkler. Your right, the instructions on the side are pathetic. I replaced one today and if wasn’t for a kind neighbor I would still be out there. He must have watched your video..lol Now I think I can do it myself..thanks again.
Glad it helped
Thanks man, i was going crazy
Great instructions!!!
Thank you
Another great video!
Super clear !! LOL hhaaa - go left go right ! hhhaaa complete reverse to the symbol
Great explanation, thanks 🙏
Excellent
Thank you.
I tried to run 3 of these in series and I guess I dont have enough water pressure to run them. IDK i checked water pressure and its 50psi from hose bib but after the first sprinkler head its down to 20psi I have a large area to cover no sure what to do. I didnt want to have to continue moving it around the yard
Thank you helped me A lot Awesome Video
Thank you!!
Great instruction.
thanks. Im just learning about these now. I think rain bird wants you to unscrew the unit and pull it out. You will see a gear at the bottom. Turn the head where you want your starting point then insert it back in. The gear will interlock at that position and you’re done
They don’t stay in that position, I’ve tried that like 20 times before and it would always shift as I tighten it
I don’t understand. How do I adjust the left side starting point? I see the screw adjusts the right side stopping point. What do I do if when screwed in the left side starting point is 180° from where I want it to start? Just partially screw the head on so it lines up but then let water leak out the bottom?
Im following the instructions in this video, and my sprinkler seems to be stuck in a nearly 360 degree pattern. Anyone have any advice to help? Thank you
I agree that the instructions are horrible! I spent way too much time yesterday in frustration messing with a replacement head for my hunter pop up that was leaking. I should have searched for your video first and saved myself LOTS of frustration. I’ll let you know if I have success after attempting another round.
It would be helpful if you could use the words "clockwise" and "counterclockwise". When you say "to the left" there is ambiguity because it could mean "the top goes to the left" (= counterclockwise) or "the bottom goes to the left" (= clockwise).
You are correct. English is not my first language and we do not use those phrases, so I will do that next time.
To change the left stop direction while in the ground you have to adjust by starting at the full left stop. Then UNSCREW THE WHOLE HEAD from the outer housing, lift it out, and point the arrow to the left starting point. Then, tighten the head nut back into the outer housing and adjust the RIGHT stop .
That wouldn’t do anything, when you screw it back on, the alignment changes
Excellent very easy once you do the left stop , then adjust the right stop all the way down and adjust it as needed.
Excellent visual and explanation! Thank you so much!!!
Simple
How to decrease pressure
You don’t
Nice messaging with your map. womp womp
Hi
Happy 😊 fr5d
😢.
On setting the left stop, by turning the entire housing, aren't you un-screwing it from thr water supply or am i missing something??
That’s exactly what he’s doing, which is not correct. To adjust the left edge of sprinkler I’m working on, o would have to unscrew it 3/4 a turn in the ground. Not gonna do that.
@@sgib199 Thank You!!!! .... I thought so! Even rainbird shows a vid here using locking plyers to grab the entire housing and turn!!...what the heck!!???? Their instructions here and as written on the head I bought are horrible!
@@sgib199 ......would YOU tell me what you find out??.....i.g. the correct way?.......
@@prsguitars42 I just did it how Handy Dandy Andy shows how to do it. But I did not use locking pliers. I was able to pop up the inner sleeve using a screw driver in that third slot, and hold it up, and rotate by holding on tight.
It isn’t easy, because it was all wet and muddy from trying to do it the wrong way, and that center section wants to pull back down and close up.
czcams.com/video/YoIyj023ezE/video.htmlsi=avfBRntZ0vk6st_J
@@prsguitars42 and another thing….it would be much easier to get it close first (the left edge) before filling all the dirt in and turning the water on.
Thanks for clearing this up. Rainbird has a good product but their instructions are not clear at all.
Thank you! So simple. And you’re right, their instructions are terrible.
These are not the same instructions as are in the manual ....
Thank you sir. I consider myself somewhat handy but their directions are horrible
Unscrew/screw the entire unit from where it is threaded in the ground to adjust the left edge? That is not correct. If you need to adjust it to the right just a little, and if it’s it already screwed on tight, you would have to loosen it almost an entire turn in the ground. Which may cause it to leak in the ground.
Oh, and you are right. The manufacturers instructions (and their video) are horrible.
These are worthless sprinklers that just do not adjust end point to end point it is a PITA
This guy doesn't understand how to correctly install the 42SA+ sprinkler head. This model of sprinkler head has a slip clutch design. You just install this in the ground and you just hold top part of of the sprinkler head and slowly turn counterclockwise to set the stop limit on the left side, then use the flat screw driver to change the range of the arc (*/-). I installed this type of sprinkler head many times and this method never failed.
