    Thanks for the informative review, especially about the fold and the different power settings .... Both not quite good enough for me, but I can see it being a very good bike for many.

    I have just obtained this model of bike, initially on loan to see if I can get on with it. Never having owned an e bike it strikes me as a complicated piece of kit but with luck within a week or two I should know how the thing operates. The first thing I noticed about it is how heavy it is, luckily am not intending to use it for urban commuting/ rail travel. It is simply for my 1.5 mile daily commute to work, all downhill on the way in but the journey back hime is a different story (after 12 hour shift with cumbersome work clothing).
    Thank you for uploading this presentation.

    Thank you for this great video! Do you feel the Careera Crosscity is better than BTwin Tilt 500E?
    I find USB slot and battery on/off button are unique to Crosscity whereas Good looks and easy folding is selling point for the 500E.
    Do you have a take on this? Thanks in advance!

    How could you make it go faster can you feed a 500W motor on the battery

  • @kierank01
    @kierank01 Před 2 lety +1

    The battery seems to have screws in it. so could be opened, to check if the cells are good/bad...there could be one bad cell, and if that was replaced, it might bring the pack you had to replace back to life

    Thankyou for your review.
    Before purchasing I asked Halfords what their max load was and i was told 21stones. You mentioned 100kg. That is a significant difference.
    Please can you advise where you got 100kg from because I am 20stones

      Hi. I probably found the rider weight here: www.ultimatebicycleshop.com/products/Carrera-Crosscity-Folding-Electric-Bike-2021.html. The same weight is also mentioned here: www.which.co.uk/reviews/electric-bikes/article/how-to-buy-the-best-folding-electric-bike-a1lVX0H21u0H. It's possible that the max load is 21 stone due to a redesign or a reassessment. Do they have it in writing?

    On high settings do u get the maximum speed from small rotations of the pedals?? I'm looking for maximum speed with hardly any effort

    Very informative, thanks.
    Is it easy to take the battery out of the bike for charging?

    • @IrishEVOwnersAssociationIEVOA
      @IrishEVOwnersAssociationIEVOA  Před 2 lety +1

      Very easy. You just use a key to release it and pull it out (after releasing the folding lock).

      @@NiallTrumpetTV No. I clicked the Halfords customer reviews to show the bad reviews first. There seemed to be too many issues with it.

    Thanks for video. I have seen a second hand one for 500£. Comfortable for tall people ? I am 6ft 2 and can see myself keeled over on this bike. What do you think ?

    • @IrishEVOwnersAssociationIEVOA
      @IrishEVOwnersAssociationIEVOA  Před 2 lety

      I think so. You can raise the handlebars and the seat quite a bit.

      hi mate just to say i am also 6ft 2 i ride with the seat up high and it is incredibly comfy. You aren't hunched over on this bike, the handle bars also can be raised after these adjustments it's ideal - go for it

    How much does a new battery cost and how long does a new battery last please ? Great review thank you .

    • @IrishEVOwnersAssociationIEVOA
      @IrishEVOwnersAssociationIEVOA  Před 6 měsíci

      A new battery costs £400. I’m not sure how long it lasts. We had to buy new batteries in 2021 because we forgot to keep them charged and we didn’t use them for almost 2 years due to an injury and Covid restrictions. The new batteries are still going strong but we top them up every 3 weeks or so during the winter months when we don’t cycle.

      You could get a second battery, or turn it off when you don't really need it. Using the lower power modes also helps.
