Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark become targets of the Capitol after their victory in the 74th Hunger Games sparks a rebellion in the Districts of Panem. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
“This arena seems to be laid out like a clock, with a new threat every hour.”
You mean school?
The happiness Project lol
This comment is sadly funny
The happiness Project Hah. I can agree with that 99.9% of the time.
😂😂😂
True
I find the book more suspenseful because because wiress doesn't gasp loudly, katniss just notices she stopped singing
Me too
ikr. i've been glued to the book but i feel like in the movie everything happens too fast.
i agree but the sad part is that this movie can only be so long, so they can't really do to much stuff like that.
Yeah It talks about the bird that miners take down with them. If it stops singing then they know they're in trouble.
That analogy made Wiress' death more haunting to me
Joey Morrissey exactly
I like how totally and faithfully Johanna is hanging on to katniss and how distressful she sounds when katniss falls into the water. Gives her more depth than just abused and slightly insane
Well Johanna promised to keep the Mockingjay alive... and she did her duty
wouldnt her sounding distressful be a bad thing
I wouldn't mind a sequel based on Johanna. She would make a very interesting protagonist because she literally has no one to lose and no one to protect, so that's a very conflicted protagonist. Her finding someone to love, be it a man, woman or a child, could be the turning point for her. I don't know what the sequel could center on that wouldn't resemble HG but I'm sure a smart writer would come up with an idea.
She was told katniss was the best chance at killing snow, and she was desperate to kill snow
Well also snow murdered johannas entire family
I love how badass katniss can be, but she can also be very sweet and kind
Mickayla Ankrim I was your 666th like

It's amazing how Katniss didn't lose any of her arrows.
some person finic
some person well the quiver is probably magnetized... But yeah, the fact that she gets flung into the water and doesn't list any is bullshit.
That's movie magic for ya
lol it's a movie calm down
some person and she never runs out of them, like she uses them nonstop they never go away she always has some😂
If you notice at 1:31 Johanna pushes Katniss to protect her and at 1:46 Finnick does the same with Peeta
They were so committed to protect them at all cause
Finnick actually don't push Peeta away, in the book Katniss says he pushed away the spear that Brutus threw directly at Peeta, and Enobaria threw a knife at his leg
*at all costs
Finnick and Johanna are my favorite characters ❤🤲
2:42 Katniss falls into the water and P. Heavensbee stops the spinning right away.
Katniss kills Gloss
Johanna kills Cashmire
Ugh I hate reading the scene when Wiress is killed ;-; I don't know if it's the translation or if the sentence sounds like this in all of the versions but the words "Suddenly I notice a change. Our bird is no longer singing" had a HUGE effect on me when I first read CF ):
OMG SAME but the part that distrbed me the most is when "a red smile appears on her throat" ouchhh
Lunatum i got chills reading that line. It was a bit creepy and sad i don't know..
Lunatum Same....... That was.... I have no words. That moment struck me like lightning.
Suzanne has such a way of conveying the most horrific meanings with such seemingly inocuous sentences. "Our bird is no longer singing", "wear a necklace of rope" and "my children who don't know they play on a graveyard" are some of my favourite sentences in the books because of the sheer terror their meanings convey.
For me it said “....was the silence. Our Canary stoped singing”
Mags has a sad death
Doge that was in my top 5 least favorite hunger games death
DФGΞ I know right
ikr =-C
DogeGaming341 She knew that if they wouldn't move they would be consumed by the fog so she had to end it to save her friends
Also cinna :(
The look on Bee's face when he sees Wiress with the knife in her shoulder is heartbreaking, and he even starts to go forward to save her, until realising it's too late, and the quick thinking of Katniss yet again.. Overall this scene might be just another scene but for me it's quick but powerful.
Mia McDermott Knife in her shoulder? He slit her throat...
S F in the movie it looked like she had a knife in her shoulder
Lucas Wozniak Sorry, but it’s doesn’t, at all. Pause it. You clearly see the motion he makes to slit her throat. No knife in the shoulder
@@SF-wz5tz disagree i mean I know he slit her throat but i had to go back and look because it looks like he stabbed her shoulder
@@MustacheKat16 I disagree
This is actually really interesting foreshadowing for Plutarch when you think about it. He spins the center piece because he’s a game maker, but stops when Katniss is in danger. It’s hard to notice this at first, but it’s obvious after rewatching the scene.
Yessss
I noticed it too. When he turned it I thought "WHAT!?", but then Kat falls and he stops the turn. Very smart. Snow didn't see this.
I feel like he was trying to buy them some time as well. Cause they were being attacked by other tributes. Once he saw Katniss was in danger he shut it down.
At first I thought he just had a soft spot for katniss
He spun the center piece to prevent Katniss from chasing the District 2 tributes and likely getting killed. He stopped it to prevent her from drowning.
It was very smart of Johanna to push Katniss out of the way instead of letting her shoot. She knew that Katniss wouldn’t load in her arrow into the bow quick enough, and was yet to get slashed by Cashmere. Quick thinking, Johanna 👏👏👏
That scene was so badass.
And the priority always: Protect the Mockingjay
The priority was to protect Katniss from the beggining

OsamaBinLooney Yeah

Wonder what happened for Gloss and Brutus to feel the need to run around bare chested.
*****
Or... just fanservice. Both for the movie-audience and in-universe. Maybe they were banking on getting more sponsors if they ran around half naked.
Maybe they saw twilight
cos they thought It would be better if we careers that are male wear no shirt to die quicker or freeze to death
Great Idea!
;_; rip Mags & Wiress
idk but they started the games with shirts on so
It probably got really hot so they took off their shirts but the shirts got lost, who knows they probably did it to feel more manly
Small detail but does anyone notice how thrilled Wiress is when Katniss says she’s a genius? She’s glad someone finally understood what she was trying to tell them!
Similarly, when Wiress is still singing but she knows someone's approaching in the waters and tries to warn them with the continue of the song..
@@mayadg16dude, I didn’t even piece that together. I meant in the books Beetee did say she was intuitive and could sense things before anyone else.
I read a theory that Johanna's job was to protect Katniss and Finick's to protect Peeta. It completely makes sense in this scene. Finick holds back and protects Peeta and Johanna runs after Katniss (who is running after Brutus) and tries to safe her from falling into the water.
The entire plot of mockingjay:
No actually Johanna and finnick were protecting Peeta because if he died the alliance would break and Katniss would probably kill them
In the books, it’s chilling because when Wiress is killed, Katniss says “Our clock has stopped ticking”
she actually said ‘our canary has stopped singing’ as a reference to the canaries in D12’s coal mines :))
Our canary has stopped singing
I have an eidetic memory, I know
Actually "Our canary stopped singing" because Beete earlier said Wiress was like the Canaries that are used in District 12 to know when to get out if the air is too dangerous
People don’t realize how sad this actually is. Two siblings die right in front of each other in a matter of seconds. I think it’s especially bad for the mother. Imagine having to watch your children in the arena fighting for their lives and then the relief when both of them win in their years. Then thinking that your family is forever save and then having to watch them going in the arena again and they die and you can’t do anything about it
Even worse when you realize one of the tributes in this is a mother to three young children and gets killed in the bloodbath
@@comenerdwithme3346which tribute was it ?
Cecelia district 8.
Really? I dont know how they win the first time but Im sure you dont want to go on a group of 6 at cornucopia. They start pretty much dumb fight. Kind of idiots actually.
Dizem que a mãe dos vencedores irmãos do distrito 1 também foi uma vencedora no passado.
I like the unnecessary spin of johanna to throw her axe
Spinning’s a good trick
actually, it's added momentum so the damage little bit up than if you just swing normally...
I think she needed to spin to put more force behind her throw.... And for the themeatics of charging up her grunt.
*Cornucopia spins*
“Let’s see how they tell time now”
Me: use the tree? Lmao
Tyson Hamblin well in the book, theres a similar tree in every wedge. After the cornucopia spun, they didn't know which wedge is what time anymore.
I thought the game maker was on their side?
the next guy yes but he needed to make his intentions as a game maker believable in order to successfully get them out and not have him executed in the process
@@Spiffyomar
ah ok
let's try spinning, that's a good trick
I love how you can really tell in this scene and throughout the movie, the other tributes really are trying to protect Katniss and Peta. It really adds to the final reveal where saving them was the plan the whole time
2:44 at times you can understand that Plutarch is a rebel. Katniss is in the water, so she is in danger of death. Plutarch already knows he needs her to be the mocking jay. So he stopped the arena. I'm pretty sure if it was Johana or Finnick, he didn't stop it.
it was smart from plutarch. katniss figured out its a clock, and for others it looked like he ordered the spin just to get katniss off the island. atleast for me, thats how i understood
I've always thought that there was something too familiar and too simple about the 75th hunger games... it is only today i realised that the 3rd quarter quell was actually a miniature of panem... 12 districts - 12 clock hours & each district (or clock hour) with its own unique horrors and the central cornucopia - the central Capitol with all flourishing resources but also harbour the danger of focus from each district (or clock hour)
and those in Capitol or cornucopia always win(almost but not all the time)...& it goes on & on....
Dude, you're a genius
You just blew my mind
WOAH
This is one of the best theories I have ever seen! Wow you really went all in. You are an absolute genius. This comment needs more likes!
What about District 13?
1:45 it's sweet how Finnick has always protected Peeta
Yara he was just keeping him alive becouse without him katniss would have broken the alliance, that’s smart and selfish, no love or friendship in that mi amigo
Mauricio Blandino i think Finnick was just a good guy in general, Katniss still probably would’ve helped IMO, she probably would’ve had more of a reason to rebel if Peeta died ~ plus Finnick saved her in the cornucopia
@@mirandanils5114 Yeah. Finnick did a lot of things for Katniss and Peeta (restarting Peeta's heart, Mags dying, breaking up fights between Johanna and Katniss)
I love the acting between Katniss and Johanna when the latter grabs her to keep her from falling off the island. Brought together by that immediate desire to stay alive, and though they've butted heads, they both want the other to make it safely. There's a surprise threat, the Cornucopia spinning, that no one anticipated and everyone is caught off guard, and yet their immediate reflex is to grab each other and help them survive, too.
Gotta be honest though, you'd think they would secure those weapons in the horn a little better.
Johanna was in on it on the rebellion. Her, Finnick, Beetee, even Wiress were tasked by Plutarch to always protect and keep Katniss and Peeta alive, most especially Katniss, because well...she's the Mockingjay. Johanna never liked Katniss but she knew she had to protect the mockingjay.
Also, Katniss was never told about the existence of District 13 and that Coin was mobilizing through the games. This is why Katniss was always on the edge with Johanna and Finnick. The only other people she truly trusted were Mags, Wiress and Beetee.
0:10 Wiress is so cute, her excitement when Katniss understands her always gets me so choked up. She's probably so relieved after everyone not listening and Johanna being rude to her about it. (No hate to Jo, she was just really frustrated and tired, with every right to be.)

In the book, there's an analogy of Wiress described as a canary bird they use in mines to indicate impending trouble if it stops singing or dies.
Then this scene comes up...
*chills*
Hmmmm..... This scene shows a lot of change in Johanna(?). She states in the beginning that there's nobody for her to love, but when she saves Katniss, it shows she cares for her. She seems so distraught when Katniss falls in... I don't know, I just noticed that. Let me know your thoughts.
+siabug37 Johanna looked out for Katniss because she was needed in the rebellion.
+Matt Canon Yeah, I was thinking about that too. But still.
I think that the more she gets to know Katniss, the more Johanna sees her as a friend but doesn't want to admit it, or even let herself believe it because she does not know what will happen in the end.
also the whole rebel leader/symbol/Mockingjay thing.
A lot of people believe that all Katness and Peeta's ally's were working with the rebels and prepared to die to protect them with the knowledge that they needed a powerful well known face to the revolution.
As a another character role played by Woody Harrelson once said “That’s why I don’t let people get close; you only get burned.” Johanna says in a later scene there’s no one left she loves; they were all killed. She’s too hardened to admit sentiment
Sure guys, just leave the genius woman who figured this all out to die!!
Zoe Garcia THANK YOU!
I was your 100th like
Basically. She had her throat slit in the book
What are you on about
Tbh, Wiress wasn't/couldn't speak normally. She just repeated words. So they decided to make plans with her nearby. They didn't know the Careers would attack
the careers were so little intimidating in this Movie... i mean they should've shown some of Enobaria's skills.. :/
Enobaria surprsingly was the only career to remain alive at the end of the whole thing.
For experienced victors they should be more vicious than the careers in the first book/movie
I liked it actually it showed that this time it was katniss and her team who were the danger. I wouldn’t want a repetition with Cato and Clove again.
Ikr gloss and cashmere both dies just like that.
Like ripping people's throats out with her fangs? That's a little graphic for PG-13.
The careers lost half of their group whilst only managing to kill one of their enemies. Bear in mind the careers are supposed to be the most deadly in the arena.
Thing is they were a lot older, outnumbered I’m sure and were facing ppl who had already won the games themselves quite recently. The odds weren’t really in their favour.
To be fair, they’re older. They put the games behind them.
not to mention they killed probably the most harmless out of all their enemies
1:50 you realize Plutarch helps Katniss, when he noticed spinning the clock will kill the enemies
He only span the clock because he knew that she was gonna persue them alone and had the chance of dying
omg yes!! cause he was on there side wasn't he!!
Yea, he is in the rebellion after all, and he stopped after Katniss fell to save her.
No one died in the spinning though
I love how there's a solid 10 seconds where Katniss and Johanna just scream at each other
2:14 to 2:24
I hated Johanna in the book, but I like her in the movie
I think it's because in the book you see everything from Katniss' pov and Katniss hates Johanna. in the movie you're able to form your own opinion because you're not seeing strictly from her eyes

Finnick : Wiress, you're a genius copycat lol love u finnick
"Lets see how they tell time now" Buddy, theres still the giant tree that tells them where 12 o'clock is😂😂
In the book there one of those big trees in each wedge so when the cornucopia spun they didn’t know which one it was
Exactly.
Cashmere is in my opinion an older Glimmer.
CobraDragonPlayz, and Gloss is an older Marvel. lol
Blond, arrogant, District 1 competitors. And only 3 of them were killed by Katniss! (Glimmer is killed by tracker jackers, Marvel is killed by an arrow after spearing Rue)
yeah, District 1's tributes just have that look, don't they.
District 1 might have similar appearance
Most of the inhabitants of the districts usually look similar in appearance in the book someone started a rumor that Gale was Katniss’s cousin since a lot of people in district 12 have that look ( I forgot the exact details since it’s been like 7 years since I finished the books)
"Tick Tock"

Me at 1:54: “PLUTARCH YOU SON OF A “
Also me Later, discovering he’s an important rebel: “.....uuuuuh sorry Plutarch.”
Plutarch needs to make sure the careers are alive long enough. If he has not send the good guys spinning they will have killed all those careers before night fall.
To find 12:00 all they had to do was find that tree again.
lol
+Laura Nelson when they stop spinning the sections are identical. They all contain the tall tree and they have to wait to figure out which sections are which
That's what I was thinking
lmao
It said in the books that every section was identical. So every section had a tall tree and the only way for them to find out which one was 12:00, they needed to wait for something to happen.

Who else likes the little foreshadowing that Plutarch is with the rebels by stopping the spinning as soon as Katniss goes in the water?
I think it was so nice how Johanna held Katniss and starting screaming no when Katniss fell off ❤
probably to alert Plutarch
Is no one going to talk about how Johanna dug her ax into the rock face, holding herself to the rock while grabbing onto Katniss with her other hand to prevent her from falling? That's some serious physical strength right there.
It’s crazy how much I hated Plutarch until I realized he was actually helping Katniss. When I first saw this scene, I thought he was angry about them finding out about the clock, but when I watch it again, it looks like he’s helping Katniss and everyone fight off the careers. That’s just what it looks like to me though.

The Capital is so cruel to them and only stopped when Katniss fell in the water!!!😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵
Sierra Walker Actually, the cornucopia stopped spinning, because Plutarch is secretly the leader of the rebellion group. He needed Katniss as the face of the rebellion, so that the other districts would once again join to fight against the Capitol.
Oh...well president Snow is still cruel!
But they did it so the Careers would fall off.
They stopped when they say katniss in the water bc Plutarch was tryna keep her alive bc he was a undercover

In the book Katniss compared Wiress to the songbirds that would be taken into the mines back in district 12, and that she was practically acting as a danger sensor. The songbirds in the mines would singing the entire time they’re underground, but if the bird suddenly dropped dead and stopped singing, the miners would leave because there was gas, the danger that would kill them, in this situation, the entire group thought they were safe to talk and plan when that wasn’t the case. Wiress going quiet is what made Katniss look up and see the careers because their songbird stopped singing. Wiress essentially saved them by making such constant noise that when she goes quiet they would have a reason to look up. She saved them.
