The Era 300 speakers are an exceptional purchase, you will not be disappointed. Those people not being able to connect or claims poor quality is just noise. If you read the directions, sound quality and connection are not a problem. Very impressive speakers!
I think the shape of the speaker is to help with the sound. As for Google assistant it just may get added with an update. Like some of their other speakers. I don't like that there isn't an Ethernet port. I usually try to connect as many devices to ethernet on my home network. It does appear the sound quality is top-notch and that's coming from just listening through this streamed video. I'm sure it sounds a lot better in person. Great video review as always Gregg. DO NOT BUY- The app is trash and you can't get them to connect or work after a year. Customer support is not helpful and speakers should always work even if the app is not the best. After trying everything for years they just got worse and just trashed over $1k in speakers. Terrible purchase and never again.

You can purchase an adapter to add ethernet plus line in capability, but at this price it should really be included
