I have used the Sonos Amp with my main, old speakers. I also have used Sonos Arc with sub and Era 300s). And I have used Bluesound Powernode (60 watt version) with these speakers. Got the M1 this week and my speakers have come to life, at last. Incredible sound. As for film the M1 Virtual sound mode (using with an SVS micro 3000) is so good. Have had these speakers for several years and the new sound has, simply, shocked me!
Nice review! Love my amp 1, but I am not a real fan boy (I think) so I would buy new shit if its more bang for the buck. This one is close but... Sonos speakers are just ok, but amp 1 still rules🙂🇸🇪
I really appreciate this video. I’m so torn between these two products for my desktop HiFi in my office. I’m leaning toward the Marantz even though I prefer the Sonos app and Apple Music integration over HEOS and its limited streaming support. I suppose I can use Airplay with the Marantz. In your experience was there much loss of sound quality using Airplay with the Marantz vs HEOS integrated streams?
Hello, I didnt notice, It sounded good with Airplay. Yes its a hard decision. One other option is the Bluesound Power node. It sounds better than the M1 and is cheaper.
Which one did you think had more power? I'm looking to replace my Sonos amp but all other compact streaming amps have a much lower advertised power rating, it could be that Sonos over rates their power output, but Sonos does have a good bit of power for its small size.

Id say the Sonos. Typically it can handle 3 6in In Ceiling Speakers in parallel.
M1 is master tuned in japan so its better than sonos
