- This episode of From The Hatchback goes into detail on the Zoleo satellite communicator for use while I'm off roading and hiking. This device can be used for TONS of different activities. Pretty much anything where you'll be outside cell signal. It uses the Iridium satellite network for its communications.

3:22 The dogo popping out from under the car 😍
Haha! Yeah he's a nut, lol
Always nice to see what others plan ahead for in solo trips. I definitely like having something that can communicate with people when you're not in service and out in the Backcountry.
Totally agree. And if communication is the only concern, it makes more sense than a Garmin, and it's cheaper :)
Excited more people are using these devices. Just orders my Zoleo and waiting to arrive to try it out in the wild
Awesome! Yeah I really like it thus far.
cool stuff! Nice that it can be used for other brands like the Garmin inReach!
Yeah, pretty cool service if communication, and SOS ability is your only concern. I use my phone for my GPS, so I don't need it to do that. Pretty handy little gizmo :)
A peek at what you carry in your CT would be great. As an overlander , would like to see what others carry. Keep those great videos coming. Be safe..be well.
Cool, I'll put that down as a future video topic, thanks for the feedback :)
Nice! I've been looking at the Zoleo as well.
I like it alright so far. I will say the weather feature is a bit vague with the details it gives though.
So if you didn't want to send out SOS but you needed to be pulled out of a ditch what are your options with a Foleo?
You just text a buddy or whatever just like you would with cell signal. It's a satellite messenger that you can use like your texting. As long as you have the number you can text anyone.
