    I appreciate the “teaching” aspect of this. Most tutorials are like
    “use these materials, apply,, then color”. And they just show themselves doing it
    Sure some of them break it down sorta as they go. But they are very speedy and use a bunch of terminology that’s not exactly “newbie” friendly.
    Chill background music helps too.
    Overall a new fan man. Keep it up.

      Dude, I'm honestly so happy to hear this. Sometimes I feel pressure to make my tutorials more quick/short/like you describe, but I REALLY want these to be accessible to folks who know zero about sculpting because sculpting can already be intimidating. But I don't think it has to be! So thank you so much ♥

    Came here from Eric's hobby workshop! I have made some tentative steps into sculpting and converting Tyranids in the past but you have definitely made we want to try some of your sculptong techniques and get back to the bugs. Thanks!

      So happy to hear it! Like I said in the video, I honestly think Tyranids can be really easy to sculpt if someone gives you the right tips. So I endeavour to give those tips.

    Great tip in leaving parts to cure before moving on... Nothing worse than working on a new part, then turning the model around to see your thumb print in the piece you just finished sculpting before. Found you through Eric's latest vid... new sub right here, looking forward to checking out your other vids. 👍

      OH SWEET! Yeah, I might give this tip, but I learned it through screwing it up... OVER AND OVER. I still screw it up these days. I just get so excited to keep moving, and I wind up wasting a lot of effort. I even did it on the Screamer Killer in Eric's video! On the head veins!

      These are honestly the comments I live for. Tyranids are meant to be infinitely mutable and evolving. I love to see that represented with original conversions!

  • @Bloodthirstier
    @Bloodthirstier Před rokem +1

    Great tutorial! Your putty looks so easy to manipulate as compared to just my green stuff. Is that the Apoxy doing it's work or is there a chance I got some old Green stuff I wonder.

    • @ModernSynthesist
      @ModernSynthesist  Před rokem +1

      Could be. Your yellow might also be going off through no fault of your own because if it sits too long in the plastic wrap it comes packaged in, the outside edge will start to become leathery. It's really a terrible side effect of the stock packaging.
      If you can afford it and there's a retailer near you, I recommend buying new stuff, separating it if it comes in tape form, and storing it in an Air tight GLASS container (because plastics can also off gas and cause the yellow to set prematurely!
